We have regular customers at Macayo's in Scottsdale. At our last dinner, were served by an excellent server. John was not only pleasant but very attentive that in turn made the evening delightful. I enjoyed the chili relleno; very nice!

Taco anniversary. Dine in only. Big mistake chard to get a drink as every who came in ate two ordered six so they could get four to go. Profits were left behind. Put a cap on the take out 12 only fine in or takeout Simple. Girls sweet came over with sample margaritas delicious. Our bartender was great Gabby. And the staff is amazing but your new rule fine in only didn't work.

This place is so nostalgic for me! I was craving macayos so my husband and I went tonight. HoLY MOLY- THE SPINACH QUESO DIP IS THE BEST QUESO WEVE EVER HAD!!! This is a MUST. 'Exactly what you're craving...tender shredded beef or chicken, refried beans seasoned perfectly, all of the cheese to please, great house chips and margaritas, and every favorite Mexican entree, app & dessert.Even though the portions are so generous I can never finish my dish, I definitely "somehow have room for"the Fried Ice Cream for dessert! The cinnamon-cornflakey-crispy coating is so delicious over the super cold solid ice cream, and check out the video of the chocolate sauce draping and drizzling over it all as we pour it! For our entrees, we had the green corn tamales (with AMAZING Baja Sauce), Fish Tacos, and loaded nachos. You cannot get a better deal anywhere than these perfectly cooked tender shredded beef nachos loaded with cheese, refried beans, and a huge scoop of sour cream and avocado!!! I had the "half order" for $8.99, and it was the hugest mound of heaven. The Baja Sauce that came with the tamales was so incredible I wanted to steal it and pour it all over my nachos. It's a decadent blend of white cheese and cream cheese.The service was spectacular, and I love the ambience of the restaurant. There's a nice amount of space between tables, and the booths are comfy and large.Margaritas are only $7.00, beers $4., and if you're going to order two or more margaritas, definitely get the take home ceramic "Margarita Mug" (that I call the collector's goblet) for only $11.99 with $4.99 refills.Here's another tip: If you sit at the bar, there are extra special appetizer prices.The restaurant was clean, and what I appreciated most was that every ingredient was cooked perfectly and served quickly while fresh and hot.It would seem like something to take for granted, however at another popular Mexican restaurant where I dined this month, the refried beans were served dry as well as the shredded beef, it took so long to get the food, and their margaritas tasted so strange/bad that I couldn't or didn't want to finish it.So, if you're contemplating where to head for your fiesta before the siesta or the perfect Tex-Mex (American Mexican) dinner, this Macayo's location is the perfect choice!

Quick and attentive service here at the bar. It was surprisingly quiet this Friday night. The menu is typical Mexican fare, was pleasantly surprised to see Elote on the appetizer menu. Chips were freshly fried, brought warm to the table. Salsa was average, and as expected. Sometimes it's nice just to walk into a place and get exactly what you're expecting. Decent food, not expensive, good service, no surprises.

Just had an awesome lunch at Macayo's!! Gabby have us great service start to finish. Our glasses were never empty and our service was prompt with a smile. Chad was our chef today and I can't say enough about the meal. Jack had three of the chickens street tacos and customized his order a little bit. I had the carne asada chimichanga and change that up quite a bit. All of our instructions were followed perfectly. The presentation was great and the taste... Well I would say this is the best I've ever had on any visit since we've been coming here. As for the ambiance, well Macayo's is Macayo's!! It's exactly what it's supposed to be. If you haven't been here in a while, come back in and give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

This location perplexes me. At one moment it seems dead and empty, then other moments it seems super challenging to get your servers attention while a line of people forms at the door. Also, I am gluten free and am happy to have a menu to choose from, however, I have ordered the corn crisp (gf cheese crisp on a corn tortilla) numerous times and every time it comes out different. This time it came out on three separate tortillas with cheese not even reaching the edges. The first time I had it was the best as it was multiple corn tortillas spread out on an actually cheese crisp pan (like a pizza) and had cheese covered edge to edge. The corn crisp came out after our salad entree came out even though we ordered it ahead of time and it was over done. My steak Caesar salad was missing the crispy red tortilla strips while my partner's shrimp Caesar was covered in them. Over all I'd just like some consistency and better service.

First time visit, won't be coming back. Our table was very sticky even after cleaning.The place was dirty can't imagine what the kitchen looked like. The salsa was horrible very watery with no flavor definitely not home made most likely came out of a can. The food was also not very good. Our server could use a training course in hospitality she literally dropped off our bill before we finished eating. Also noticed a man walking around in jeans and tennis shoes, putting silverware on the tables they were not wrapped in napkins. Basically, he was handling all the silverware with his hands.
