Really wanted to love this place because of all the 5 star reviews, and maybe that brought my expectations too high. We came here on a late afternoon, and the restaurant was pretty empty. Service was very friendly, and the owner at the front was helpful in explaining all the different dishes. We ordered the panko spam musubi, chicken adobo plate, and the longsilog bowl. The total came close to $50, which is pretty expensive for a meal we are receiving in take-out containers. However, the food was plated beautifully and intentionally. - Panko Spam Musubi (3/5): The owner recommended that we try this! It was my first time trying a panko spam musubi. Typically, I'm not a fan of fried things, so it wasn't my favorite way to start out the meal. The unagi sauce on the inside was so yummy, but I didn't really taste the furikake rice. - Chicken Adobo Plate (3/5): This plate comes with two stewed chicken legs, Mac salad, and a side salad. The chicken adobo fell off the bone, but was honestly lacking in flavor. They definitely give you a hefty portion of rice that we had for leftovers for a couple days. - Longsilog Bowl (4/5): The sausage was packed with flavor, the egg on top was perfectly cooked and runny, just pricey for the portion. I was expecting a lot from the garlic rice, but it didn't add much.

Garlic Smashed Potato Loco Moco, does more really need to be said? I'm not a huge fan of rice so this Loco Moco is right up my alley. My sister, son and I went to Hawaii a few years ago, we found this little whole in the wall that had the most amazing loco moco, since then I've been trying to find something that can compare. I personally hate brown gravy which is why I loved it.Well Luna really outdid herself. Not only is the gravy not brown, but it's not served on rice. BTW, I did ask and you can have rice if your heart desires. Not only is the gravy fantastic, but the potatoes are amazing, they are so creamy and full of flavor. The hamburger patty is a nice homemade patty, not from a store, and it's packed with flavor, then it's topped with a perfectly cooked sunny side up egg. When you break into that yolk and it mixes with the gravy and the hamburger patty and potatoes, it's heaven!I've haven't tried many other plates as I can't not get the Loco Moco, it's really that good. I have tried the LUNpia Nachos topped with panko spam. They are fantastic as well. I love lumpia and the filling that is topped on the nachos is great. The spam may not be needed, but it adds a yummy saltiness to it. Also, the chips are not some store bought chips, they are fried fresh so even the chips are made with care. Everything about the nachos is so carefully thought about, really some of the best ever.If you really want another special item, the Sweet Chilimansi Chicken Wings are amazing. I'd never hear of Calamansi, but now I'm hooked. The wings are cooked upon order, they do take longer than most items, but it's worth the wait. The sauce is great and the wings are nice and juicy, not overcooked. The portions are a good size so you can always order a few items and share. I have done this a few times, but really I share everything but my loco moco, I just can't do it. I can't pass up one bite of that amazing dish. The desserts are also special. The Ube Rice Krispy and the Ube Tres Leches are my favorites. The Ube Tres Leches is unlike any other Tres Leches. If you like ube and Tres Leches, give it a try, I highly doubt you will be disappointed. One more thing, everyone that works there is so unbelievably sweet. Luna herself has explained items and how she came up with dishes a few times to me. Everyone is happy to answer any questions and they make you feel welcome.

What can I say been trying to come here finally got the time to stop by and oh boy it's all worth. Staff are super friendly felt like home The place is really clean well organized the tables, chairs and decor are totally unique pinoy vibes takes me back to the Philippines the restroom clean as well. Then there's the food we ordered tres silog comes with chicken and pork tocino and tapa which is all made fresh as you order comes with a fried egg macaroni salad and cucumber with tomatoes is amazing ! Meat is so tender and tasty the garlic rice is super good as well. Pork belly with rice crispy flavors are different something that you will not expect there's always a twist. Their veggie pansit is super bomb I've never tried a pansit without any meat that will taste that good will definitely order that again and I suggest you guys try it too. Sweet chili Mansi wings to be honest hesitant to try it Kalamansi on wings I'm glad we did tried soooo freaking good crispy sweet and sour not too spicy just really good. Was not able to try their meet egg rolls but did have vegetable egg rolls the vinegar that comes with it matches the roll perfect combination. To finish it off turonella dessert we're all fighting coz 2 Turin is not enough. Will definitely comeback and explore the menu...

Shhhhhhh!!! Don't tell anyone! This place is bomb! It's located in a quiet little mall in Poway and wow the food is great. Sure, this is not the place I would stop by when I'm on a juice cleanse, but man, the food here makes my taste buds sing! This is a Filipino fusion place. Think Filipino food, then put on crazy creativity hat and bam!, you get Luna's Lunpias. Even "innocent"-sounding dishes like sinigang or adobo had a subtle spin of Luna's Lunpias' touch, which totally delighted us and made them just as delicious.I got the nachos. If you're thinking "haa it's probably just gonna have different protein". Nope! You're wrong! This is not your ordinary nachos; they fry their own chips (so good and crisp), has sweet chili sauce and garlic and the meat is lumpia filling and if you're a spam lover like I am, go and add that panko-fried spam, it would be the best decision of your day.Not only were our food amazing, the service that we got was also top-notch. You order at the counter and the person there is nice and friendly. The chef (perhaps the owner?) came out a couple of times to tell us more about our dishes and what he did to give the dishes a different edge from how it's traditionally made. I love learning more about what I'm eating, it makes the eating experience so much richer and personal.I really had a great lunch at this place. It's rather far for me, but I hope when I come back, my experience will be just as great!

Came here after reading some really great reviews and I will definitely be back again! Tried the spamsilog bowl on recommendation from the girl who took my phone order. The garlic rice wasn't super noticable, but still flavorful. The crisp of the deep fried spam is the type of crunchy deliciousness you see on those ASMR videos lol Only complaint is that I wish the portions were bigger because this food is way too delicious not to earn a food coma off of ! It's a little mom and pop shop so understandable . They did include some coupons for future orders and have daily specials and menu itemsGo support! Won't regret it !

Okay, you know a place is good when your parents, who immigrated from the Philippines and who are (wisely) critical when it comes to quality Filipino food, give a thumbs up. Luna's restaurant is parent-approved. Luna, the owner, was super friendly and welcoming, explaining the menu and offering suggestions to us. I personally loved the Tres Silog with the crispy garlic fried rice and three different types of meat. The cucumber salad was a nice light contrast and the macaroni salad (which I'm usually indifferent about) was smooth and creamy. I loved trying the deconstructed lumpia nachos and, of course, ate up the traditional pancit. (FYI, Mondays, at the time of this review, are half-priced musubi days!) We really appreciated the familiar hospitality and the decor with the big wooden spoon and fork that reminded my parents of being back in the PI. Thanks for bringing us back home! We'll be back for sure.

Small business, large flavor! This place will surprise you, as it's tucked in little business area in Poway. But don't sleep on it, because they have amazing heart and family cooking put into every bit of their restaurant. They recently started doing Kamayan style food, which essentially is a Filipino feast with lots of their famous dishes, laid out on bamboo leaves that you can eat community style with your friends and family with your bare hands! And that's OK, you can wear gloves or use utensils. If you're looking for your new Filipino restaurant, this is going to be the place!

Earlier in the day, I had seen some photos of food at Luna's Lunpias, and I just had to give it a try. This place is more of an Asian fusion, so it's a bit different than what I am used to eating. Parking in the shopping mall is usually easy to do. I had no trouble finding a spot up front. When I went in, I was warmly greeted and was shown the menu. The lady at the front...I am assuming Luna was extremely nice, easy to talk to, and helped me make my decision. I went for the rice porridge and 4 small cheesecakes. A mix of Ube and calamansi. They had just run out of lunpia's for the day. Very sad. However, she included her last vegetable lunpia for me to try. Thank you!Everything was tasty and delicious, and I will definitely be coming back early in the day so I can try the lunpia the hand roll.

Super Tasty!! My sister had gone to Luna's and I knew the next time I was in town, I had to try it. When we entered we were immediately greeted. When I said I hadn't been there before the owner came around and explained things on the menu. I know some Filipino food but don't know every dish and they have unique spins on their versions so it was wonderful! We ended up getting a few different items and I fell in love with the sisig. It was amazing! The flavor was not like any I had in the past. The nachos were great as well. the loco moco is not like the traditional but we fell in love while in Hawaii with a non traditional version and had been hunting as similar as we could get. This hits the spot! the restaurant is in an unassuming strip mall. You would have no idea this gem is there! Please check it out. You will not be disappointed!
