The pizza was honestly nothing special, it tasted regular. My biggest complaint was our waiter (didn't catch his name) would throw things on the table. Straws & napkins if he couldn't reach around, really rude. We got seated pretty fast which was awesome, we chose to sit outside and noticed food on the floor under the tables/chairs.

Although a bit pricey, it's better than average pizza and Italian fare. Try the wings, definitely the antipasto salad, and the Luigi's combo special. Cost for our family equaled the cost at the all you can eat seafood buffet, which was kind of a bummer, as shrimp & endless crab shouldn't cost the same as pizza night. Service and ambiance were great. A few more gluten-friendly options and less wallet denting prices would be greatly welcomed. Also, their take out pizza reminded me of the really nice pizzas my dad would bring home in the late 70s and early 80s, before delivery was a thing. I guess the nostalgia factor is actually a really good thing. It looks better than delivery!

Overall good, if you stay away from the pizza and wings. The dough and the wings are not crispy at all. The pasta, salads and mussels are on point.

I came here after hitting up the Fit gym and needed a light yet filling lunch. We were window shopping through the shops and decided to go with Luigis. The restaurant is very open and have a lot of seating. We opted to get the lunch specials. The lasagna was our favorite. We saw that they even had giant pizza slices. Our lunch special was about $15 a plate. Not too bad. Since it was kind of busy the day we went (probably on a weekend) it was quite packed. We ended up just sitting up by the bar and the service was pretty ok. The food coming out and order process was not the fastest but it wasn't that slow either.

Had this for our 3rd night in San Diego. The antipasto salad was super delish and I highly recommend. The pizza was good but not the best ever. Our server was really nice and attentive.

The first time I came to this restaurant was 2003. I was amazed at the size of the pizza slices here. I did not even live in San Diego at the time. About 12 years ago, I moved to California, and I stopped by Luigi's again, and again, and again. Over the past 20 years, I can say that Luigi's has some of the best pizza that I have ever had. The speed of the service and the quality of the service is really good. The servers are laid-back and easy to work with. The place is always busy, but it is never too crowded. The pizza tastes amazing. There is always a game on the TV and it's just good fun. For those who do not know, parking can be a little bit limited. You may need to pay to park across the street or try to fight for free parking at the boardwalk. The bathrooms are clean, there is always plenty of seating, and it's very easy to find right there on the beach. Five stars!

This place was packed on Labor Day weekend!Ordered our meals to go. Spaghetti with meat sauce, mussels and egg plant Parmesan were all good and in line with expectations. The real highlight here were the Jello Shots! :)

This is a great location right where all action is. Parking is a pain but if you can score parking especially after 6 you don't have to worry about parking tickets. Around the corner the street with shops, bars and the boardwalk. Across is the famous Belmont park. So dinner and a night with the family at the arcade, rides in San Diego is a perfect evening. Back to pizza. Inside is a long dinning hall and outside has a good size patio to take in all the people watching or give dirty looks at people struggling to parallel park in front or behind your car. First for an appetizer we did the fried ravioli with a marinara sauce. Onto the kids slices are huge. They are a 1/2 a regular size slice and had a side of giant onion rings. The kids loved the ranch dressing. The whole pies are not the same size as the individual slices which. The crust is thicker then the thin crust the individual slices are. The medium is small with 6 slices. We got the combination which was filled with toppings. Just a little to thick dough and lots of raw onions. Even with how busy it was the staff was on top of it. I do prefer the thinner slices so sadly I wouldn't get a whole pie. Another bummer is you can't get any of the specialty slices as an individual. Not a huge deal breaker just a bummer. However if I couldn't find parking I would skip this place for another sorry.

As I sat enjoying my slice of Luigi's famous pepperoni pizza, the bustling atmosphere of the restaurant surrounded me. The aroma of freshly baked dough and melting cheese filled the air, creating a cozy backdrop for a memorable dining experience. Suddenly, amidst the lively chatter and clinking of dishes, a scene unfolded that gripped my attention.Across the room, a diner seemed to be in distress. From my vantage point, I could see them struggling, their movements frantic as they clutched at their throat. It was a terrifying moment, accentuated by the apparent obliviousness of the other patrons and staff. The desperation on their face was unmistakable, a silent cry for help in a crowded room.Just as panic threatened to take hold, a young busboy emerged from the periphery. His swift movements caught my eye as he abandoned his task of clearing tables. With a determination that belied his youthful appearance, he hurried towards the distressed diner. In an instant, he assessed the situation and, without hesitation, applied the Heimlich maneuver. The tension in the room was palpable as we watched with bated breath. The busboy's actions were precise and practiced, a testament to his training and composure under pressure. And then, in a sudden release of tension, the obstruction was expelled, and the diner gasped for air, relief flooding their face. The applause that erupted from nearby tables broke the spell of fear that had gripped the room. The busboy, now back on his feet, accepted the diner's profuse thanks with a humble nod and a reassuring smile. His demeanor was modest, his words few, but his heroism echoed loudly in the minds of everyone present. As the diner regained their composure, their heartfelt gratitude reverberated through the restaurant. Amidst the aroma of pizza and the hum of conversation, Luigi's had become more than just a place to eat--it had become a sanctuary where ordinary moments were transformed into extraordinary acts of bravery.I later talked to the busboy, whose name was Gus, and asked him why he was on the prowl for heroism - his response? "It's all in a days work"
