This was our last meal before our flight, and it was honestly surprisingly good! We were able to get seated quickly and I appreciate how our server asked how much time we had before boarding. I got the two piece plate with the 2 chicken thighs, candied sweet potatoes, and tater tots. It also came with a biscuit which was nice and soft, but dried up quickly. The chicken was fried well and nice and juicy with good flavor. I also absolutely loved the tater tots - by far the best thing they were so well seasoned and so crispy! My least favorite was the candied sweet potatoes as they were a little too buttery sugary and heavy for me. Overall, great spot for a quick stop in the airport!

I had extra time to kill in the ATL airport so I decided that I wanted to eat at a sit down restaurant, but not at the places I typically frequent. So I walked deep into the D gates to find chicken and beer. You have to wait to be seated, but the hostess was only willing to allow me to sit at the bar. That's understandable as a solo traveler at a busy time. I found the menu to have higher price points then seems reasonable on the alcohol, so I opted for water. The alcohol menu is the only part of the menu with no pricing but the bartenders told me that all cocktails are $15. I learned from listening to others that beer was $12. I'm not sure if that standard price across all the beers.I couldn't decide between the catfish entrée and the salmon entrée. I really love catfish, but I also really love dirty rice. The catfish is served with red beans and rice and the salmon is served with dirty rice. The bartender confirmed for me that you cannot , alter the meals, so I opted for the salmon so that I could have dirty rice. Dear Yelper, what was served with the salmon was not dirty rice. It was rice that had a handful of Black Eyed Peas mixed into it and about 5 tiny pieces of collard green mixed in as well. like if you took a collard green leaf cut it in half down the middle and then took an eighth of one of those halves that's about how much collard was in my rice. So little that you could think it was a mistake. I was so disappointed.I finished my meal, paid my bill and went on my way. I would not make the trek through the D concourse for this again. For the record, there seems to be some construction happening in the concourse, which means that this is likely a longer walk right now than it would be usually.

There was no wait when we arrived and the food came out very quickly (within 15 minutes) and it was piping hot and fresh! At first, it seemed like the meals were pricy; however, you get a good amount for what you pay. We ordered these 2 meals and they sufficiently fed the 4 of us who were waiting. The restaurant was busy and bustling but not too loud or cramped. Our server, Kaia, was so nice and sweet. We were very impressed! I'd go back again! Ludacris did his thing with this one!

I arrived the ATL airport with time to spare before my flight, so I visited Chicken + Beer in concourse D (near gate D5). It is a restaurant from Chris Bridges aka Atlanta rapper Ludacris. I ordered the fried chicken (white meat) with rosemary-garlic tater tots (not pictured), and the candied sweet potatoes. It also was served with a biscuit. Overall, the meal was stellar. The fried chicken was so flavorful, the skin was golden and crisped to perfection. The combo of biscuit and sweetness from the candied sweet potatoes were a match made in heaven. I just broke off pieces of biscuit and started dunking. The hot sauce that accompanied the chicken was the perfect complement. The server provided a hot towel after the meal, which came in very handy. The environment is lively and upbeat there's a bar with enthusiastic bartenders and guests. The servers who were table side were very personable, which I wasn't expecting for an airport restaurant experience. Needless to say, it caught me off guard in the best way. Til next time!

Ludacris' Chicken and Beer is located in Terminal D4. Take a pic of the cardboard sign to the left of his restaurant. The service was great. Michelle was my server. She was friendly, courteous, and attentive. She had a nice smile, too!Decisions, decisions... I was thinking of the fried chicken or the shrimp and grits. I couldn't do both as I don't like to be wasteful.Shrimp 'N Grits: Seafood gravy, pickled red onion, smoked cheddar grits. Creamy, smooth, lightly cheesy grits. Their red gravy was subtle. The fried shallots (or onions) added a nice textured crunch to the dish. The shrimp were seasoned in a cajun spice and grilled perfectly, which kept the shrimp plump and juicy.Collard Greens - stewed with some sort of meat (ham hock?), not soggy, but had a slight kick to it. Very good.Melissa talked me into adding a biscuit. Oh boy, glad I took her advice! crispy edges on the top and bottom. But light, moist, and buttery on the inside. The top of the biscuit had a glaze of honey, which added a nice sweetness to it. I'd recommend this. A nice place for good food and a great selection of alcoholic drinks. I am glad I made the trek from B to D.A few tvs to watch sports. Some of the chairs are very weathered!

I stopped by Luda's Chicken and Beer while I was in the ATL airport waiting on my flight to Dallas. The brother Rodney that greeted me was very friendly (1st impressions are everything). I wasn't hungry so I decided to try the Pinot Gris which if you know anything about wine, is made from the same type of grapes as Pinot Grigio, but the grapes come from a different parts of the world. Anyways.... Back to my review on the establishment. LolI cant speak on the food, as I didn't have an appetite, but the service was great & each table has its own outlet for charging devices. The food that I saw in neighboring tables looked delicious, but you'll just have to check it out and see for yourself. Ask for "Rodney," if you want superb service.

It wasn't bad but this is not the best I've ever had. I did enjoy my food but I can't say this is a place I'd coming running back to. My favorite food was the greens, least favorite was the biscuit. I shared the food with my son because they do give you four to share or take home. The service was great so I made sure to tip well. My server was nice, polite and the food came out fast. I got the spicy sauce in the side just in case I couldn't handle it, I enjoyed it.

Wow Chicken n Beer what a pleasant experience. This is for my husband. His Delta flight was delayed he stoped in your place. He was greeted by the host I think he was the manger a well dressed man. He sat him at the bar introduced himself David and told him his bartender was Nicole. What a great experience he had. Food was great my husband had a makers mark no ice which he loves. But here is the kicker my husband is 78 years old and was afraid he would miss is connect on D 11. Mr David told him don't worry he would walk down to the gate and check n the flight he came back with a photo picture of the departure. When my husband finished his drink and meal suggested by Nicole he was personally escorted to the gate by Mr David. I want to personally thank him for that ! What a wonderful extra effort service. It has never been done before for him he was so thankful. He tried to tip Mr David but he stated it was against company policy. I will never forget this and will refer all my Delta friend to this establishment. Job well done. New customer with friends next time. Keep up the great work. Outstanding service and food for airport location total surprise.
