Lucky market really makes me feel like I can be part of their family. This Cambodian family owned store really makes you feel welcomed. My first time here, I actually came here on a whim. I was exploring new Asian markets as I just moved to the Tacoma area. I noticed the writing on their door, which was Cambodian, and I immediately wanted to go in. Oh, I was on cloud 9! Their produce section isn't the largest, but will have what you need. From chili peppers, herbs, greens, and fruits, you'll find it! Canned goods, pre-packaged items, frozen foods, and home essentials are also available. Home essentials include straw mats, sticky rice cookers, some decor, and the Asian broom- haha! Then, you'll come around to the snacks! They have a small section where you can find fried up breads, sesame balls, and packaged goodies. Makes you feel like a kid all over again. If you are whipping up any Khmer/Lao/Thai dishes, this is the spot for everything you need. Customer service here superb. Don't be afraid to ask any questions. They will help you!

I love anything cheap! Don't blow your wallet. Great Asian food grocery store or supermarket if you want high- quality, fresh meats, fish, exotic fruits, and produce! If you are English speaking or Cambodian speaking, the clerks are bilingual. They can help you find Ingredients for your next Pho Soup or sweet & sour cat fish soup! For those less exposed to the delectable cuisine of China, Thailand, Vietnam, Loas, & Cambodia, you can easily get ingredients for a simple Pad Thai dish or Fried Rice :) You can also buy rice cookers, straw floor mats, Asian brooms, steamers, body balms, and international calling cards!Store RemarksLocations in a run-down "china town sort of" areaDingy sidewalk and outside appearanceStore sign is broken or missing a letter, hahaHomemade underdog atmosphereAccepts cash, credit, & EBTAlways open, even on American holidays!Always operated by the same friendly faces. Don't be intimidated if you are a "westerner" aka Caucasian, just ask for help. The customs surrounding customer service are a tad different, but be open and assimilate. The store could benefit from a better labeling system since its multilingual and exotic produce. No public restrooms that I saw. Lastly, cashier lines "look" very long, even if they are fast. It could easily deter customers from waiting in line. **Freshest produce, meats, & fish I have seen. I've compared it to Hong Kong supermarket, krogers, Fred Meyers, and Costco or Sam's Club. The biggest difference is they are a cost competitor and will beat any price, as well as run out to get the freshest meats each morning or afternoon. Lena's Grade RatingA for Effort, Quality, Customer Service, and PriceC for aesthetics and labelingIt's a hidden treasure, especially for yoga enthusiast because it has healthier selection s of coconut juices and all natural snack foods. I love to stock up before my long week of Bikram Yoga!

Some of the food and deserts looks spoiled. One time I saw banana rice rolls (Banana wrapped in sticky rice and banana leaves) fell on the ground and the staff here put it back on the shelf. Some of the food and deserts look like they were made by a third party vendor. No nutritional information were labeled to inform customers. Someone mention that the staff here are bilingual, however only the owners are bilingual the younger staff members are not bilingual. They only speak English. The majority of their customers are Cambodians and if you're one of those Cambodians who don't speak English then it is difficult to ask for help if the owner is not around. If you ask for help in Khmer from the young staff members you will get a blank stare, and they will tell you straight up that they don't know Khmer.

Of all the asian markets in the region, this one reminds me the most of being in a little corner store in Thailand. Nostalgia aside, the prices are great, the produce quality is wonderful, but the fresh street food is the closest I've tasted here... try the fried banana, and the steamed banana in rice and black beans wrapped in banana leaves were just like what grandma used to make! We always stop by to visit whenever we're in the Tacoma area.

I found all my Thai ingredients I needed. They carry fresh rice noodles used in a lot of Thai noodle dish. Very small place but a good alternative to going to hmart for things you couldn't find. Parking is street parking and you are to back in. Makes it easy to load grocery and then get out. And once I got here, I realized Hong Kong supermarket is right next door for anything you can't find here.

Noodles, rice, sauces, produce, snacks... whatever you need, you can find it here. Or if you don't find what you need, you'll probably find something you want. I always get my favorite roasted chili oil here. I love some of their homemade hot sauces here. And some of the homemade papaya salad is good too. Oh, and the fried goodies... yum! This is a small family-owned store, and they'll treat you like family here.

They have fixed up the inside quite a bit and sell a lot of things that Hong Kong market next door doesn't sell. I found fresh curry leaves! They have been almost impossible for me to find. The last time I bought some, it was in an Indian shop in king county. The package was very small and they weren't very fresh, they were also overpriced for the amount of leaves. These were really fresh, many sprigs on the stems and a good price.

This place has expanded. It's very clean and organize. Great customer service. If you're looking for ingredients to make a Cambodian, Thai, or Vietnamese dish, you can find it here. They have many different selections of snacks, frozen goods, sarongs, mortars n pestles, and ya mong (monkey balm), that is a MUST HAVE in my home!
