I finally got to have my Chinese cuisine from Lucky Chinese right across from Matt's at the end of 4th Ave going towards 1st Ave bridge it's a nice clean cozy small seat maybe 30 my first indication must be a great place because there were so many cars in front but as I entered it was just one customer besides me. The gentleman behind the counter was curious with he's greeting, he noticed it took me a moment to order.."First time" I just smiled and looked around to see who he was talking to but ultimately I selected Number 15 Mongolian Beef to go. Exiting then the crowd it seemed like I was a doorman. I couldn't wait to get through that plastic bag and into that styrofoam container at glance two mounds of rice in back and a big significant amount of beef,onion,etc.. it looked like a smiley face but I went to work it was good. I will most definitely will go back for round two, now that I have a (Menu) To-Go.

So glad they're back!!! We've missed their fried rice so much. It's been tough to find anything that could remotely compare to our favorite Chinese takeout spot. We didn't know they were coming back until we happened to see them this week on our way to run an errand and we can't tell you just how happy we are they're back. The service at this sweet, family-owner business is amazing, the new spot has an even better location and dinning area than before. 10/10 we recommend.

Went here after a friend recommended it and it did not disappoint. This is your classic Chinese American food with all the classics such as fried rice, chow mein, beef and broccoli, and more. It's a perfect place for take out as they have a little parking lot in front which makes it easy for pick up.Called to place my order around 6 pm on a weekday and it was ready in 10 minutes. To our surprise, each dish came with a side of hot and sour soup which was simple and delicious. Both meat entrees came with a large serving of steamed rice and steamed veggies. Overall, portion sizes are huge, really affordable prices, great variety of dishes to chose from, and super nice and sweet owners. The food with full of flavorful and not very greasy. What we got:Noodles with pork gravy: super flavorful, savory saucy noodles.Lucky fried rice: simple but full of flavorMongolian beef: to our pleasant surprise, it came with side of rice and steamed cabbage and bean sprout. Really tasty and tons of onions.Hot pepper diced chicken: really delicious with mushroom, peanuts, and crunchy veggies.

I cannot say a single bad thing about this restaurant. It is a tiny hole in the wall that is successfully run by a small, very sweet family. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside. Seriously, it is a tiny hole in the wall place with only 4-5 parking spots out front. It is in a very industrious area. While eating here, my family and I noticed how popular this place is. Because otherwise, we were the only bunch in there and so we all kind of wondered how this place stays afloat. They do a lot of lunch to go orders. Their items are very inexpensive. I do not know whether or not they except credit cards as forms of payment but everything is very reasonable. I have to admit, I wasn't sure what to expect but we were very pleased. We were a party of 8. I think we ordered 10 dishes... these are some that I can remember: - beef w American broccoli - curry chicken - won ton soup- chow mein x 2- general tso chicken - fried rice w beef - complimentary hot & sour soup - Vietnamese iced coffee Everything that we ordered was tasty and the service was very nice. The family was so sweet. They really enjoyed the company of my daughter. We had a really nice time dining here for lunch. It was nice to see all these people coming and going and picking up food. My daughter really loves the small claim that they have there. When she needed to take a little break from eating she would climb out of her highchair and could go over and watch the fish, quietly, without bothering anyone. It worked out perfectly. I'd easily come back here. Food is tasty, inexpensive, reasonable in price and down home... nothing fancy at all. It's just yummy & good.

I say this with great reverence: this is the best chinese restaurant in this entire city. I have searched far and wide for the tastes of Chinese food from Chicago and the east coast. People who know, know what I am talking about. It is the distinct wok hay taste, the awesome family that runs the place, the neighborhood vibe, all of it comes together. If youve been searching for the GOOD fried rice, it is here. The real taste of Mongolian Beef, here. Kung Pao, here (pro-tip, it is called hot pepper diced chicken on the menu). Plus the delicious hot and sour soup is tasty, savory, and fortifying. Above all, they are so welcoming, warm and accomodating to my child, who is on the spectrum, and only likes fried rice with nothing but soy sauce and seasoning. They cooked it up perfectly and now my kiddo is hooked. When this place closed on 4th ave, it crushed my whole world. I am so happy to have Lucky Chinese back. Long live Lucky Chinese!

Service was fast and easy! Enjoyed the complimentary hot and sour soup at the beginning of the meal.Lucky fried rice: I would definitely come back here for the fried rice. It was super tasty and my favorite dish. Will come back to try some noodle dishesSpicy wontons: sauce was a little too sweet over being savory, but tasted good with the fried riceHot pepper fish: I didn't care for the fish dish we got, where the sauce didn't taste like it complimented the fish and the meat tasted a bit too fishy.I know their food is good here, so I want to come back and try another protein dish!

Giving three stars because of the service, not the food. We ordered the general chicken, Mongolian beef, wontons in spicy sauce, and egg rolls. The general chicken and egg rolls had a very fishy flavor and it was clear that they needed to change the oil in their fryer after just a couple of bites. The Mongolian beef was overcooked and was almost entirely onions, not beef. The spicy sauce for the wontons was oil and a very sweet sauce of some kind, not spicy at all. Sadly, we probably won't be going back and would not recommend.

We just tried them for the first time in their new location and it was fantastic! The portions were generous, flavors were on point, the meat was tender, just overall delicious. We ordered takeout at the counter and it came out so quickly! The couple people we talked to were kind and helpful as well. Overall it was a great experience and we'll definitely be making this a regular spot in our rotation! Love that they're back and in the neighborhood :)
