Windy Hollow Restaurant

What do you get when Applebee's and Cracker Barrel collide? You get Windy Hollow Restaurant. At least as far as the decor is concerned; the food is in a league all of it's own. This is country cooking at it's finest. The baked apples had the perfect balance of cinnamon and sugar and quite literally melted in my mouth. The sausage patties were fork tender and flavorful. I've eaten breakfast in a lot of places and have never had sausage like this! And then there were the chicken tenders. I'm not normally a fan because of heavy breading and little chicken, but these were the opposite of what I thought they were going to be. These tenders were lightly breaded large pieces of perfectly cooked chicken. Last, but not least, there was the coffee. This coffee was so good that it didn't need anything added to it to make it drinkable. I was very impressed with how friendly the staff was, and how they kept the buffet tables clean and well stocked. The only downside is that the place is on the smaller side, and very popular, so it can be a bit crowded. Don't let that be a deterrent, though. The food is worth it!

Amazing food! The buffet was so convenient and we quickly got our food. The donuts were amazing and so were the biscuits. We will certainly return!

Everything is amazing!! We love this place We look forward to eating here every year.

Nice selection, friendly staff, it was very busy and a line at the buffet witch inhibited walking to/from kitchen for staff and restrooms for customers.Good food

The biscuits with sausage gravy was outstanding! The apples could have used more cinnamon. The fried chicken was very good and the banana pudding was terrific. The was was pretty good. Everyone was pleased, but nobody was making plans for a return.

This was our first visit to the crazy museum that we knew existed but not to this extent. There is a lot of history here, we spent more time looking at all the stuff then we did actually eating. The food was good the buffet is small lucky for us the place wasn't busy but if it would have been I'm not sure how the visit would have been. I believe it was around $15 for an adult buffet

A MUST if traveling out this way. The breakfast was phenomenal!!! I wish I didn't live over 5 hours away! This was a great find
