White Buddha

We were looking for a local joint to pop into before a movie, when we found White Buddha after a quick Yelp search. I don't frequent the Anchorage area often, so I did not know that this place existed until finding it online. We are big sushi lovers, and man, theirs did not disappoint! In fact, for how small of a place it is, I was impressed with how many different options of rolls that they had. They also have other items on their menu if you're not feeling sushi. I ordered the crab rangoon roll - a personal fave of mine - and this was the best one I've had... huge portions and drizzled with sweet chili sauce... yum! I also appreciate the size of the roll, as one was the perfect size for a dinner portion and not too small like it can be at other places. The owners, or at least I think, were running the shop and were very friendly and accommodating. Make sure to pay them a visit so you get to experience their fantastic food!

It lightly.... Had to take a couple days to decide how to leave a review. This place came recommended by a close friend so didn't expect to feel disappointed. For the money spent, it was not okay to spend so much and not eat. The gentleman working there at the counter was very nice and was pleasant to talk to. The food... I don't know. I guess since it was the end of the night but still... we ordered to go after leaving the Kawaii Candy & Karaoke Elite event... still hot but it was kind of a hot mess. I refused to take photos of the food just added into my sorrow. An order of chicken and one shrimp fried rice- both so over cooked and seemingly recooked and just out too long.. the rice was just mush in both orders. The crab Rangoons two orders came with three- but they tasted really bad like weird and the texture threw us through another dimension. The firecracker shrimp didn't get eaten either... Instead of the sauce put on the side to add once home it was drenched- but made it so soggy there was no saving it no way to do anything with the goop breading. I just gave up. I know the lady who came out the kitchen looked irradiated but people were picking up to go orders when we came in... I know it was 40 minutes or less before closing so... I mean I get it I apologize for wanting to try the place for the first time while in the area- literally across the street... but it's going to have to be super early and in a little while. Heard nothing but good things so I did expect a lot I guess and that's on me... I will try it again and early in the day when I do. My daughter ordered something else but she didn't like it. I want to give it another go... I think it's one of those cases.. have to try again. But we won't order so much. We always order tons to try when we find a new place. So yeah.. less spending next time.

Good service. Nice customers. Small, but powerful! Texas Roll and Lily Roll were both accurate and delicious. Two rolls, iced tea, and tip = $30

I was let down with this one. So much hype. I should have expected a let down due to the build up. The space is very small so eating in can be uncomfortable with the number of to go orders waiting.The food is fine. It is Asian food that is not any better or worse than other hole in the wall spots. The service is unremarkable in that it is a level that is expected at any dine in restaurant.I won't be back because there are Asian restaurants of similar quality that are closer to home.

I'm visiting Kentucky for a volleyball tournament and when I thought of Kentucky I wouldn't think I could get some of the best Asian food here but they superseded my expectations. Great food and outstanding customer service . The Hibachi with shrimp was amazing! This was my 1st time at White Buddha and they offer large portions for lunch I was more than satisfied. I would say it was a nice lunch. I will definitely be back and recommend this restaurant!! If you're in the downtown Lexington area you definitely need to give them a try!

Their food is fantastic and the service is amazing. We like their teriyaki salmon and their steak (filet) that I get teriyaki style.

Place is super small. 4 tables. I wish I had taken the hint as a sign to go somewhere else. I ordered the Las Vegas Roll. It tasted more like a Fairdale flip flop roll. I ordered the Gyoza. Supposed to come with 5 dumplings. Mine had 4 , which was fine because I was only able to stomach eating 2. Easily, the worst Asian cuisine I've ever had. In fact, gas station sushi with an expired date would have been better.

White Buddha deserves to be "Best of Louisville". Plenty of sushi and hibachi options await you whether it's carry out or 1 of the 4 booths available for dine in customers in a modern, quiet and super casual atmosphere. The staff is always super friendly and the food is SUPERB!

Lunch with coworkers didn't disappoint, and leftovers to take home. Definitely recommend!
