Great place to grab lunch. Loved the fried chicken. One bummer about this place is how expensive their produce is. There's gotta be a way to make fresh fruits and veggies affordable. Isn't it the closest grocery-ish store in the neighborhood? Seems like there should be grants for this sort of place to get in more for less. Thanks for the great food and service!

Too many "markets" in Louisville are nothing more than a bad version of 7-11, a place to pick up a case of Keystone Light and possibly a serving of broaster chicken. At Webb's you can get your dry goods, but otherwise it's a very pleasant departure from that model.First and foremost, there is the deli counter in back and the lunch patio. They serve both breakfast sandwiches as well as deli sandwiches. If you pick up your breakfast or lunch to-go, they make everything to order and it's always very quick. Deli smoked sausage sandwich? $2. Country fried steak sandwich? $3. Biscuits 69 cents. Hot wings, beans, chili, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, cornbread. Want a can of beer with your lunch? That's $1.Webb's is also reasonably stocked with decent produce, which is great since there is no supermarket in Phoenix Hill. So if you want to pick up a couple of tomatoes or onions or bell peppers, you generally can count on getting them here. Webb's received a federal grant to provide equipment and support to carrying healthy items as part of the city's "Healthy in a Hurry" program, and this is the result. (The last time I looked in the produce section, they did have a bunch of girl scout cookies stuffed in there as well, but hey, you need to wash down that lettuce with something, no?)

So sad to see this business bought out. Boo-hoo. Deli not open on weekends any more, and the atmosphere is totally different. Can't tell you about the food because the deli wasn't open. It's too bad the local residents couldn't have helped to make it more profitable for original owners. Good luck to new keepers, but miss the old!

So its a basic market, nothing fancy, selling everything from dish soap to chicken broth, but in the back they have a counter for plate lunches and sandwiches. For TWO DOLLARS (yes kids, not a typo) you can get yourself lunch. You will want to pony up an extra dollar though, for cheese (50 cents) and "dressing" i.e. lettuce, tomato, mayo, etc (50 cents). Still, even with chips and a drink, that's a five buck lunch. And where can you get that kind of a deal anymore?? I got a turkey sandwich, with american cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mustard on wheat bread. And I'll tell ya, its nothing sophisticated but it was pretty darn good. I would definitely come back - they had fried chicken and fried cod that looked delicious!Oh one other thing - Webb's does accept credit cards, but you need to have at least a ten dollar purchase, otherwise they add 25 cents onto your bill. Maybe you care about that, maybe not. Just thought I would put it out there.

A nice local grocery store that serves made-to-order sandwich as cheap as $2 for a turkey sandwich, dressed $3. They also have a pretty good selection of southern food for lunches (wings, fried fish, beans, kale...). It's the only food place on that end of muhammad ali blvd and I'm glad it's there. It's nothing too glamorous, but it's good food for a good price. A client of mine who has very little to spend recommended the place saying it's quite affordable. I agree.

This is a great little neighborhood market. You can get home cooked food and pick up a few groceries too. All this and it's only a few blocks from home.

It's not closed, it just SUCKS now.The folks working the deli are NOT food service professionals. I ordered Turkey and got bologne! BOLOGNE! When I called to inform them, the lady that made my sandwich - no she would not give me her name - was belligerent and refused to accommodate any solution I offered. She repeatedly said "we are only human".Not only will I never go back there, on my daily commute and treks by this shell of it previous self, I will warn people off and tell the to beware that they are about to get ripped off!

Went there yesterday on my 30 minute lunch and ordered a lunch plate with a hamburger. And I won't lie, the food was good. But then I put my burger down upside down for whatever reason, and found that the remainder of the bottom bun was molded. And since I'm on lunch, I decide to put it off until later to take it up with the store, and took a picture of the mold. Well today I went in, again on my lunch, and told them what had happened. Well apparently since I ate the moldy food, they couldn't give me money back or anything. They refused to do anything about it, because I was unknowingly eating mold. Absolutely disgusting, and I will never step foot in this store again.

This was the cheapest and most delicious sandwich I've ever gotten out of the back of a "market". All the markets in my home town of Columbus don't event have the counters anymore, long gone...The lady working the deli counter was friendly, and patient, given that I was an out of towner and had no idea what exactly "dixie loaf" is. They carried souse and head cheese as well, which is always a win in my book.I settled on a buffalo chicken sandwich though, extra meat. $4. You kidding me?Guy up front was super friendly too. Their hot line looked really good too, but I was mostly passing through grabbing something for lunch later.
