Valu Market

This location of Value Market has a great Selection in the Deli Department and the Bakery Department. They are known for their Excellent Cakes! I was in the area today and stopped in to pick up a few groceries. The Recommendation is mostly for the Amazing people that still work here from when I lived in the area. This store used to be SO CLEAN and well loved and taken care of! Most of the people working here are older and honestly they shouldn't have to be the ones to clean it. I'd think that Value Market could have it professionally done. It needs a really use a deep cleaning in the entry way and actually throughout the store. They still have a nice selection of fresh produce and a good variety of meat, which is what they used to be known for. I'd much rather shop at a smaller family owned business whenever possible but I do hope they step up their game and do some cleaning. It's sad to see it in such dis-array, and well, actually dirty.

Valu market is a solid little grocery store. Does not have the glitz and glamour of a large supermarket like wal Mart or Meijer but it will do in a quick need situation. Prices are hit and miss throughout the year. I will say they do a yearly meat sale that can not be beat. No competitor comes close.

First visit to this Valu Market location and it was fine except for the fact that they had no fresh mozzarella in the entire store which I thought was weird but maybe everybody is making Caprese Salad this week? The store has ample parking. It is a large and clean store. The staff members that I talked to kept trying to send me to the sliced cheese section when I knew the fresh mozzarella should be located in the deli area. I picked up a few odds and ends. What changed my cheese disappointment to happiness was the fact that they had luscious cuts of filet mignon for $10.99 per lb!!!!! Bingo!!! That's what's for supper tonight! My Valu Market go to is the Bardstown Road location but I wouldn't hesitate to stop back at this location if in the area.

Store was very clean and organized. One of the only places around Okolona my husband can find Coor's Original. The local liquor stores tend to run out weekly. Some prices are cheaper some are higher - just do some comparison shopping.

I grew up going here as a kid, now that I have moved back around this area, I go out of my way to help out the little guy, and stay local! I love the deli here! I only get our lunch meat and cheese sliced here! I cannot find anyone else who understands sandwich cut, when it comes to my meat thickness! And I cannot find Sarah lee oven roast turkey, anywhere else as well! I usually keep them very busy, and even with a line, they are always friendly! This is why I will always go back!, for my lunch meat! The crab cakes and red potatoes from the case our delicious as well!

I am writing this review because I really like Valu Market's cakes. Their cakes are so delicious. The frosting is light and not overly sweet. Their frosting is very unique. When it came time to celebrate my husband's birthday, I decided to pick out a chocolate cake. Everyone at the party enjoyed it, even my husband who tends to prefer rich chocolate desserts. He enjoyed the frosting just as much as I did. For our upcoming anniversary, we plan to return to get a mini cake for just the two of us to enjoy. I am thoroughly looking forward to it!

Valu Market has best Donuts around! You will not find any better! The employees are super nice and always helpful! I am so glad we have them right here in our neighborhood! Job well done!
