Uncle Charlies

This was my visit today in a nutshell. I enter. Gal walks to the register while I walk to a freezer "Hey. -_-" I say "Hey" back. Then I go to the freezers to see if I can find any hot dogs. I walk to the gal and ask "Do you guys have mini packs of hotdogs?" Gal: "No. -_-" I: I say "Thanks." and walk out. What is up with this? Not even a "We do have hotdogs though." Or..."Yeah, we sold out of hotdogs." Not even trying to upsell me, yet I know they had some good hotdogs that a coworker had bought for our business bbq a few years ago when I was at a previous employer.

Ok, it's time to let y'all in on a little secret. Uncle Charlie's has the meat! No, they're not new, they've been around since 1952. The first and other location is in Richmond. This location has been open for a year or so. It's on New Circle Road, across from Sam's Club... super easy to find. It's never busy and always fully stocked. It's a perfect secret gem for a time like this, when we're avoiding crowds and the grocery stores are short on meat options. Don't get me wrong though, this place is always a great option when you're looking for local meats and such. I've gotten everything from biscuits, to chicken tenders. The frozen chicken tenders are breaded and precooked, and since I discovered them here, I've not bought them anywhere else. I've found the prices to be cheaper than Kroger and other grocers. It's a bit on the small side, but I've always left satisfied, always leaving with several bulk items that I wasn't even in the hunt for.

The meat we got was good the prices were fair going back for more. I like it wasn't crowded and everything was labeled the lady who helped was nice good deal.

So glad they came to Lexington ! Store is near and clean food selection is great and now they have a deli counter to slice all their meats and cheese. All around awesome place

I have shopped there several times. Clean, and employees are very helpful. Best tenderloin you will find. They have a lot of different meats, minute steaks, country ham, bacon, sausage, seafood, hamburger, hash browns, onion rings, cheese sticks, etc. They now slice lunchmeat to order. Homemade chicken salad, and an assortment of sauces for meat. I hope they stay open at this location.
