Earlier this fall I came across a fall festival, where there were a variety of vendors and came to booth by Turtleback Ridge Brewery. I met Kevin at the booth, the father of the brewery owner Keegan. All of the beers sounded interesting using Kentucky sourced ingredients as much as possible.Kevin allowed me to sample a few beers before making my final selection and the samples were delicious. I knew after enjoying a pint I needed to check out the farm and beer on a return trip to the area.Keegan learned to brew from his father and took that craft to create a brewery. They had planned a major opening of the brewery at Turtleback Ridge Farm, this year but was delayed due to COVID.As a way to celebrate the Christmas and New Year's holidays, they hosted a holiday open house the past few Saturdays in December to welcome guests to the farm and see the brewery as they are in the process of putting on all of the final touches to the brewery, which has an outdoor patio and should be officially open in the spring of 2021.The farm is located in Robertson County Kentucky off US Route 68 and KY Road 2505. Road 2505 is a bit windy and you will see a sign to the farm, where you will drive down a gravel road back to the farmstead where you will find the brewery. We pulled up and were welcomed by everyone who was enjoying beers outside by the fire.We went into the brewery where we were welcomed by Keegan where he told us about the beers on tap - Kolsch; In the Woods- Dark English Mild; New Farm #2 - farmhouse beer aged in chardonnay, merlot, and gin barrels funky and tart; KY Proud Honey Blackberry Grisette - pilsner, blackberry and honey beer; Porter; I Haven't Slept in Weeks - coffee milk stout and American IPA. He gave small samples so you could make your decision as they were all very good and hard to choose just one. I went with the Blackberry Grisette it was very refreshing followed by the New Farm 2, which is just so good one of the best beer's I've enjoyed in 2021. We left for home back to Cincinnati with a few crowlers and a growler of the Blackberry Grisette. They do take curbside orders to go of their beer just contact them via their Facebook page or email them to schedule a pick up.Stop by and say Hi to Keegan, Kevin and Susan you will be glad you did and helping support a local business in Ewing, KY.

T hi is brewery is on a farm and when you are driving back the long gravel driveway, you wonder if you are in the right place. Don't turn around or you will miss out on this little gem. A very small, understated taproom with a lot of outdoor pet friendly seating. The property is beautiful. An amazing backdrop for sure. The beer was small batch and that is my favorite. They had a nice variety of brews and when ordering, Keegan, the Jack of all trades, was explaining how they used ingredients from the farm in their beers. We will definitely be back here sooner than later.

Good beer and a unique environment. There is not a lot of craft beer in the farmland of northern Ky. The ownership was fantastic and engaging. We are new to the state and felt quite welcomed. Definitely going back.
