Top Hat Liquor Store

Definitely go Top Hat for your liquor if you are anywhere near Louisville. I found maybe not the greatest number of bottles, but the absolute best selection of interesting and different bourbons, rye, and Scotch. I got a bottle of Angel's Envy from the lovely young lady you see in the picture. She is a brand ambassadors for Angels Envy. I bought a bottle for around 50 bucks and they engraved it with my daughter and her husband's name. I just gave it to them for the husband's birthday and he was delighted. I was delighted because they shared it with me. Perfect.

Great selection of wine, beer and bourbon. And best staff in town! Support your local/independent stores! They know their stuff!!

This store was recommended to me by a cashier at Paul's fruit market, and she was so right about this place! I went in and told them the type of wine I needed for the dish I was cooking and they recommended an affordable $15 bottle of Sauv Blanc that is DELICIOUS! The owners were so nice and such a joy to talk to. Will definitely be back when I'm on that side of town again!

Top Hat's exterior is truly fantastic. It stands out wonderfully amidst St. Matthews suburbia, injecting some local flavor among the chains and McMansions. The store itself doesn't have the massive selection or closeout deals that you'll find elsewhere in Louisville, but it's still a well-curated and enjoyable liquor store to visit. They have some real bargains on occasion and there are always some interesting oddities up for grabs. The staff is pleasant and knowledgeable as well, so all around, swinging by Top Hat is a mood-lifting experience.

I stopped in after the Farmer's Market at Rainbow Blossom on Sunday. Totally on a whim. There wasn't anything I specifically wanted or needed, but just thought...why not check it out.Tiny, but full to the gills. They had my favorite beer in stock, so I was a happy camper! The woman working was very friendly. If I was in the area, I would probably go back.

Great liquor store for the basics in the St Matthews/Seneca Park area. I am always able to get what I need in a pinch with minimum hassle at a good price. I'm a fan!

I'd give a Top Hat Liquor another star but it's pretty crowded, kinda unkept and dusty. That said, they have an impressive selection of wines, liqueurs and spirits. The staff are always helpful and knowledgeable.

As somebody who is new to the area, I visited the store hoping to learn a little more about bourbon and whiskey. I met Maureen and April and they were both incredibly helpful and kind. They set us up really well to meet the expectations and questions we had and gave us advice about what to buy, really helping us learn. They were giving us advice on how to gain more knowledge about the culture of Louisville and I will definitely be attending again. If you are new to the area and want to get to know the area more in the whiskey scene, I definitely recommend this place. Not to mention a fantastic selection and great prices!

The customer service here is non existent and almost borderline nasty. I have shopped here about 5 times and each and every time I have felt a negative energy. When I have asked for help or a question about something, the workers seem like it is a waste of their time to provide any sort of help. I strongly recommend going to any of the many other places nearby for your alcohol purchases. Unless you like miserable people and negative atmospheres.
