I lived in Bloomington for almost 5 years and we went to The Tap ALL. THE. TIME. It's a great bar to watch sports, it's a great place to meet friends, the selection of beer is expansive, the food is always good, and it's right in the heart of town.

Loud but friendly, I was here for a beer in the evening where I found a table and was able to write a few Yelp reviews before winding up for the night. A few TVs tuned in to sports (no Indiana game on this evening) and so I was mostly undisturbed despite it being pretty full.Friendly service, spendy beer, a good spot for wifi.[Review 20566 overall - 103 in Indiana - 1547 of 2023.]

Nice ambience, good selection of local beers, excellent service!We were visiting from out of state for the parents weekend. Stopped by here for a beer and a bite. Loved our hostess - Kiley! She told us about the beer samples that this place offers....they brew their beers locally. We tried four of them and my obvious pick was the one with hints of coffee - Night Huntress! My husband had the Bionic. We tried their Tap Fries with different dipping sauces....loved it too. Definitely stop by this place to try it once while in Bloomington!

We were looking for a quick and easy place for a weeknight dinner and wanted to sit outside. Since we haven't tried The Tap yet, we figured we'd give it a shot. The beer list looked outstanding, but I was driving... I did try a taste of Millions of Peaches, and it was delicious.I really enjoyed the feta dip. Tons of flavor with a hint of heat. Yum. I wish it had come with veggies, but we were at a bar, so ... My daughter had the salmon salad and said it was delicious. Lots of veggies and very fresh. I can't wait to come back and try some of the beers!

I love the Tap! It's a great place to meet up with friends and I love that they've added seltzers instead of just beer. Their burgers, salads and pizzas are great. The sliders are dry and boring. Most of the food is good but a few things seem very mediocre. Overall, great place. Sometimes the service is slow. It just depends on how busy they are.

So, I had dinner there back in August 2019, Erica was our waitress. I have never been treated more disgustingly than I had been with Erica that night. The manager said she was showing off for her boyfriend. I'm assuming that makes it OK We ordered the chicken Caesar salad, which smelled horrible. It smelled like something was rotten. We could not eat it. Took 2 bites to figure out it was spoiled chicken and spoiled dressing. I ordered a cheeseburger with tots, but The cheese was disgusting. So after receiving and trying it, I had to ask for it plain. I finally get my burger remade, and there are no tater tots yet.. It was very greasy and very bland. At this point in time is when we called for the waitress and asked her where the tater tots were. And said the Caesar salad tasted rotten. So nothing we ordered tasted good. The waitress started getting really crappy with us. We asked for refills of our water that took forever. Because she kept going over to her boyfriend's table and talking with them. We then asked for the check But it had everything on it still . So I asked her why everything was on the ticket, Especially when we told her that nothing tasted good and we didn't eat anything. There were still full plates on the table... Erica, the waitress then stated that we have to pay for it because we ordered it. I let her know that's not how it works. If we don't like something and don't eat it we don't have to pay. I asked if we could speak to the manager, She told me no, She said she had already spoken to him, so I asked what did he say. She said that He did not want to talk to us and that we had to pay because He said so . I thought this was a little odd at the time. Because I had never had a manager not want to talk to me about services.. At this point in time, I asked to speak to her manager again. She said that we're gonna have to pay no matter what. So, she's not getting the manager for us. So I got up, walked to the bar, and asked for the manager.Manager came over to speak to me about what was going on. I had learned that Erica had not told him anything about what was going on in what was wrong. Erica had just told the manager that we needed to remake the burger. So, I proceeded to tell the manager about everything. The manager kept asking if there was anything he could do to fix it, she made me lose my appetite. I told him how we had been waiting over 45 minutes for the refill of our waters, and if he could refill the waters for us, that would be awesome. he would fix the ticket and comp our meal and drinks. I then let him know that we were fine with paying for our alcoholic beverages because there was nothing wrong with them.The only issue that we have was the food tasted awful, and the waitress was acting like a snotty fifteen year old, and she was just treating us like crap for no reason. So the manager fixed the ticket to where it just had the beer. The total came to nineteen something. Cool, whatever. I went back to my seat and chilled. This whole time, the waitress is just hanging out with her boyfriend. We finally got our water because another waitress brought the waters to us because our waitress couldn't be bothered. Our waitress erica finally brought us our ticket. We only had to wait about 28 minutes for her to bring it to us. We paid with cash, and before she took the check and our money, I told her I wanted all the change back. She then stated that "she didn't want any of my money, and that was fine because it was only 54 cents."This is when she started to waste my time. She just hung out with her boyfriend for 27 minutes. As she was leaving her boyfriend's table I had to yell over at her and ask her if we could have our change. She said there was no change back. That's weird because it should have been fifty four cents back.... She started laughing to show off for her boyfriend.. She also snatched the water right out of my hands that I was still drinking. Who does that?!? Who takes a glass filled with water out of somebody else's hands?! So at this point, she is a thief and a liar.So I got the manager again.. she came back and threw 49 pennies and a nickel on the table. The manager was shocked. I asked her then "So there's no quarters in the whole building.??" Erica then spewed lies. The manager apologized and said he could get us two quarters and a nickel. I said, "That's fine. I don't want to waste any more of my time here." I'm pretty sure she still works there, and she did not get reprimanded whatsoever. Or wasn't the kind of reprimand that was meant to be given out in public.... I would never recommend this place. we got the worst service I have ever had in my whole life. From west coast to east coast and everywhere in-between, The Tap is the worst restaurant hands down. Disgusting service, spoiled food, and Rotten to the core workers..

The quality has gone down so much in the past couple months. Multiple times I have waited 10+ minutes to place my drink order because no one will come over. This past visit I left because after shift change no one came to our table to take our order. No matter how much I want to spend money here they won't come around and let me. All servers are standing in a corner.
