This place was great. I got a bunch of candy from here and all of it was good. I thought it was unique for having two stories and I thought it was cool. They had giant things like a giant lollipop, a giant 5 pound gummy bear and a giant jawbreaker

BE WARE! The girl checking me out over charged me by about $10.00 for a box of chocolates I selected. She was not friendly and condescending. She did put the money back on my card once I proved she had over charged me.

This is a one of a kind candy shop, combining delicious chocolates and truffles, old school sugar candy and chocolate bars, and scoops of candy to buy by the pound. I can't imagine coming inside and not walking away with a bag of your favorites. If you are looking for a Louisville/Kentucky tradition, especially as a gift, they offer modjeskas and bourbon balls. It's also a place to visit for seasonal candies - Valentine's, Easter baskets, etc. My absolute favorite take-away today was the dark chocolate orange peel candies. I let my husband know he could buy me some any time he was near the shop. The owner and team working today was friendly and helpful. They took over the Dundee Candy Shop which was loved by locals as well. Street parking is abundant.

Very nice and spaced out candy shop located In popular highlands of Louisville right on bardstown road. Like most places in the highlands they do not have a private parking lot. But you can street park and check out other cool shops and eateries in the area. On my visit today I brought 3 of my daughters and two of there fiends. I let them pick out one piece of candy a piece. So they had a blast looking for something. Literal kids in a candy store. The worker there was super nice, patient and helpful. She even gave my 1 year old a free smartie sucker while she waited for her sisters and sisters friends go shop. After picking out one thing each they rang us up and it cost around $17. So not bad for a specialist candy shop. They had a bunch of options of different jelly beans, chocolates and other famous candies. Overall a cool place that is fun and tasty for kids and adults.

This is such a great place for the Highlands to have and I'm glad it's been embraced. The Sweet Spot could be considered Louisville's answer to Rocket Fizz, the candy 'n' soda chain that grew like a weed in the 2010s - usually in downtown districts or other neighborhoods known for walkable nightlife. The Sweet Spot is less edgy (you won't find any "Fidel Castro's Havana Banana" soda here) but just as delightful for all ages - perhaps most of all for the adults who are fresh off a "Kentucky High-5" from Against the Grain down the street.Whether you're after regular packaged candy or the fancy glass-counter offerings, you'll find that the selection here is well above average. The staff is terrific and the prices really aren't bad for a specialty store like this. My favorite part is the soda cooler, which is reasonable at two bucks a bottle and contains some genuinely unexpected regional favorites. A visit to The Sweet Spot is your chance to finally try Double Cola in a glass bottle, enjoy a taste of Kansas City with some Atomic Fizz, or embrace your inner Evansvillian with some West Side Water (a.k.a. Ski).If you start regularly walking Bardstown Road, you just might find yourself visiting The Sweet Spot more than you expect. A true delight.

I really needed to put a care package together for my child who couldn't make it for Xmas (b/c of COVID). Looking for some great Louisville trinkets I came here.It had been a while, this spot had originally been a shop with quirky and fun Louisville-themed items. When we got there we saw that it was now a Candy Shoppe. Well, this is perfect because what care package is complete without some sweets? Right? The variety of candies the Sweet Spot Candy Shop and Dundee Candy range from high-end hand-made truffles and candies to bulk candies and everything in between. Not only did we get some great candies (one in a case that looks like a game controller, how cute is that?) for my out of town baby, but we also picked up a few (ok, A LOT) of truffles for the family that is in town.Parking is street parking and is tricky so if you are close and can walk, I highly recommend it.

I am sad to say that I never made it in to Dundee's before they closed - but also excited to say that The Sweet Spot is awesome and will make a great new addition to the neighborhood! After the owner of Dundee's decided to retire after 72 years of business, The Sweet Spot took over, but still has some of Dundee's treasures tucked inside. This little shop has pretty much anything you could want to satisfy your sweet tooth, plus more!! They have all the classics like jelly beans, gummy bears, licorice, but also a wall of unique cotton candy flavors, Oversized boxes of candy favorites, and a bargain bin with 49 cent goodies! My basic white girl self went with a tub of the mimosa cotton candy (and yes, it is as amazing as it sounds) and some licorice. I love this place! I'm sure I'll be in plenty of more times whenever I find myself near the Sweet Spot again.
