The Rackhouse Tavern

Wow, last time we were here, The Rackhouse Tavern was still under construction.My wife and I came tonight for a Yelp Elite event.We started off with craft cocktails. I had the My Old KY Home and my wife had the Appalachian. Both were very good.For the appetizers we had the Fried Chicken Livers, Pork Rinds and (our favorite of the 3) the Deviled Eggs.We did a tasting of Basil Hayden and the 10yr was my favorite. Thanks for the swag.For extras, we tried the Pappy's Dry Rub Duck Wings with a side of the Bourbon Honey Jalapeño sauce. The rub on the wings was a little salty, but the sauce was delicious on them.We also tried the Charcuterie Board. Everything on it was great.The decor in The Rackhouse Tavern reminded me of a distillery. Loved the fireplaces.Chef TJ Harville said they have about 350 bourbons on hand.Our server, Sadie, did a great job taking care of us tonight.We look forward to coming back.

When you pull up to this place it looked like an old beat up Hotel. Once inside it's a complete game changer. The cuando sandwich was on point. It was flavorful and the bread was rich and full. The bartender knew what to recommend and was very nice.

Love the live music. Service was a bit slow but they were very busy. Never had scallops with corn but it was a good taste. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The espresso martini was made with buffalo trace and was a 10/10.

We stopped here before a concert on a Saturday night. The service as fast and attentive, she recommended an appetizer that was on special, and we are so glad we got it! The main entrees were decent, and the drinks were tasty. I feel like the prices were a bit high for what this was, but overall we were satisfied! The vibes of the restaurant were nice, people were watching sports at the bar while others enjoyed a more elegant style of dining at the tables.

The bar manager Brandon was amazing. He picked out a flight of bourbons for me to try and was super insightful. Not only did he pick great whiskeys for me to try but he also hooked it up at an amazing price. 10/10 recommend and ask for Brandon if you go!

Yes!!! This restaurant is fabulous! We were greeted by the host,Lizzy with a smile! Super nice. And our server Delaney was fantastic! She helped us navigate the bourbon list and the menu as this was our first visit. The bartender hannah was attentive too. The manager Scott checked on us to ensure our dinner was made to our expectations which is exceeded our expectations! The beet salad was incredible! It was huge (we could have shared it!). Gorgeous presentation of 8 golden beets with a bed of spinach tossed with strawberries and feta cheese with their own rhubarb vinaigrette! My husband had the duck with garlic sautéed green beans and cheesy grits. He loved every bite! I had the pork chop which was huge and so tender and flavorful with asparagus. A culinary delight! The ambiance is so relaxing....feels like you're inside of a barn or the rackhouse where they store the whisky barrels. They have a quaint outdoor fireplace seating area (closed as its freezing here tonight!). There is a cozy fireplace in the restaurant too with comfortable couch and chairs . They had live music tonight too. What a bonus for us! Two talented men with an electric guitar and an acoustic guitar and wow could they sing!! Jimmy buffet would have approved! We will definitely cone back! They are located inside of the historic Campbell House Hotel which is now owned by Hilton. We were traveling and in jeans and tennis shoes and felt comfortable but you could easily come here for a date or special occasion and get all dressed up! It's a special place! Feels like they bring out the best of Kentucky. Love the art and Kentucky photos! We were a bit hesitant to stop here after reading some of the previous reviews, but so glad we came in and tried it! Not sure why anyone would be negative about such a lovely place

They make a delicious espresso martini! They are also known for their bourbon so they have every type of bourbon that you can imagine stocked at the bar. They have live music on Friday and Saturday evenings until 10:30 PM. There are lots of places to enjoy a drink, including outside by the fireplace or inside on many of their spacious couches. They also have tables for food service if you want to get dinner. I went for a drink the night that I stayed at the hotel which is attached to the restaurant. I also went for breakfast the next day and thought it was very delicious!

I ate here for dinner and breakfast as I was staying at the hotel. The dinner service and food were great. The food was well cooked and seasoned to perfection. The sous chef came out and spoke to everyone. Breakfast was also delicious and well seasoned. I'll definitely eat and stay here again.

Updating my review to 4 stars since I heard that Aly no longer works at The Rackhouse. I really like the rest of the staff there and am so grateful for the care they took of our group at the hotel!

This place was bad! Looked nice, but I ended up sending two meals back. The steak was so tough I had to spit it out... I actually gave it a couple of bites. They were nice as prob not first time w this complaint. They offered me a new one but I went with the burger ( to be safe) . Maybe an unfortunate choice, but it was like it was microwaved on high! Sent it back and got a refund! This place was recommended too. That's guys have to up their game.
