This restaurant is in the small town of Nashville, Indiana on the Main Street. They have outside seating and inside. They also sell local items. Like large cookies, honey and some other sweet treats made in Bedford. The make the fired chicken fresh when ordered this meal has enough chicken to share. The seasoning is very good. I ordered the fish I loved it. Not greasy. Has great flavor also. Our waitress was nice and on top of our needs. This is a MUST TRY My 4 is because of price.

A staple during leaf season. This is a decent spot to grub in Nashville. Not a lot of options in town so it's this or pizza so bonus points because it exists. I come here a few times a year. The hot water in the bathroom wasn't working this visit so that's always kinda scary. Come thru run that blood pressure up life's good.

We wandered back to Indiana to see family. On the way back (we were staying in Columbus, IN) to Columbus, we decided to stop and partake of the Nashville house.Parking, which has always been bad, has yet to get better.1. the fried biscuits with apple butter should be illegal.2. the food was prepared perfectly. The only other disappointment for me was the store. It used to be a huge place to wander and find fun things. It isn't what it used to be, which is sad overall.Still, it was a nice chance to harken back to the old days. One of the first times my wife's parents visited us in Indiana, we took them to the Nashville House for lunch.Oh, the memories!

I used to work at a nearby restaurant in Nashville and have visited a few times since, but I had never tried Nashville House before. However, when my parents, fiancé, and I decided to spend a day in town and needed to stop for lunch, it seemed like a good option! We were seated inside immediately and served a basket of some type of muffin with apple butter. This was AMAZING!While searching the menu, I asked the server what kind of soup they had that day. Not only did she answer, but she brought me a sample to try! I didn't end up selecting it, but it was so thoughtful that I got to try it before deciding for sure! I ended up ordering a side salad with ranch with a side of fries (the lunch of champions!) I didn't want anything too heavy because I was going to be having a heavy dinner that night, so a salad and fries seemed like a good option. The food came out really quickly. I wasn't surprised considering everyone else at the table got a salad as well. Mine was really good! It was a basic salad with just lettuce, tomato, cheese, and cucumber covered in ranch, but it was the amount of refreshing that I really needed. The fries weren't exactly what I was expecting only because they were listed as "steak fries" while in reality they're a lot thinner than typical steak fries. I was still happy with them! The croutons and fries were both pretty salty, but my tea helped to make it a little more tolerable. I don't mind really salty food, so I was still really happy to eat both! However, my fiancé's salad was even better than mine! He got the buffalo chicken salad, and I tried a few bites. It was so good! The chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauces blended well with the lettuce and other toppings. He got bleu cheese, and I was surprised to like it considering I typically don't! If I go back, I think that's what I will have to get!Overall, I was very pleased with my experience here! It was very pricey, but I acknowledge that as a tourist town it's easier to have increased prices knowing that people will pay it. Still, $17 for a salad is pretty steep. I would go back in the future, but I am not dying to go again just because of the cost. It's one of the only (if not the only) places in Nashville that allows dogs on the patio, so it's the only option left for some people. However, there are other places in Nashville that may be more reasonably priced.

Not bad, not good. Fried pickles were great. Chicken was good but not the best we have had. What did they do to the cold slaw??? Too peppery. Never had any like that. Need to scrap that recipe. Salad was descent. Had blackened chicken on it and not sure what they did to chicken. Not blackened. Great service and they took good care of our 2 Chihuahuas. Good service and overpriced average food. Used to be a lot better. Amazing how expensive it was.

While the ambience is decidedly quaint, and you can tell there is history nestled in every iota of this building's being, I wish the food held to that level of generational heritage. My husband got the Cuban, which he tells me was "decent." The fries, however, accompanying the sandwich, left much to be desired. What originally looked to be seasoning on the fries apparently were bits of burnt something. The Turkey Manhattan was, regrettably, the most lackluster of its ilk I have ever encountered. The potatoes were lumpy and flavorless, and the white gravy tasted of flour and not much else. The fire-roasted corn paired with the Manhattan is seasoned with peppers, and yet the flavor was still not good. The fried biscuits and apple butter were superb, however as were the fried green tomatoes. The starters were the only redeeming offerings we tried. Waitstaff was hospitable and kind.

Fried chicken dinner 7.3/10 over all score. Chicken was good and it was a big portion. * Green beans 5.8/10 REALLY lacking flavor. I had high hopes for these :/* Mashed potatoes 7/10 lacked flavor but respect the gravy - Phillycheese steak 6.3/10 extremely dry. Needed a cheese sauce or really any type of sauce very badly. * French fries 8.8/10- Cobb salad 6.5/10 good, nothing special (tomatoes not pictured) came with grilled chicken when menu said fried chicken? - Biscuits 6.5/10 was excited about these. Came out lukewarm.

The food was not good! I had a roast beef sandwich which had no flavor. My friend had fried green tomatoes which she said were hard. The complimentary fried biscuits were good but, we left there hungry. We were very disappointed, as we remembered the good food that was once served.

The Nashville House is EXACTLY what you want to experience when you visit Brown County. It's a small step back in time. Service is friendly and I love the little market at the restaurant's entry. We walked in on a February Saturday at 6:30pm and had a 25 minute wait. We were able to get a drink at the bar and wait at a small nook around the corner, entertained by the live music. In February this was not a problem, but I imagine in high season there would not be nearly enough space for the wait. The food that they offer is perfect. I would LOVE to see an expanded menu, even by 2-3 items. The fried chicken is probably why you came. That being said, a lot of us nowadays are meatless and the options are not great. I got a side salad and shared fried green tomatoes for an appetizer, only to spend money elsewhere later! It's nice that they have a veggie burger but holy cow- it's extremely easy to get burnt-out on those. My vote is impossible meatloaf or another country dish. Overall, I loved it and will be back. Meat eaters will rejoice.

They need more help! The entire 45 minutes we waited on our table, no one was available to clean up the open tables in the bar area. Once we finally got in, we ordered quickly. We got the chicken dinner entrees since that was their specialty. They were out of fried biscuits. That really is the only reason we went! We kept asking if any were out, never did get any. The chicken was pretty good however, the potatoes were a small portion with brown gravy.Last time we will go. Simply understaffed to handle a crowd.
