They treat you like family at this cute little neighborhood cafe in Shelbyville! The place is family owned and the chef/owner is a dry wall guy. Yes, a dry wall guy. And he makes the most amazing pies, cakes, pudding! The staff (mostly family) is welcoming, engaging, and eager to make customers happy. The food is made from scratch, including hand battered onion rings. Tenderloin as well. Mia, our server, had waters on the table. Food came out quickly and she checked on us several times. They have a breakfast and sandwich menu with traditional Midwest favorites. The owner is known for his fabulous biscuits which are served plain, fried with apple butter or biscuits and gravy. We each had Diana's Breakfast Special which came with a whopping bowl of fresh fruit, 2 eggs, toast and choice of sausage or bacon. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon was crisp and delicious. The dining room is sparkling clean with cute decor. They even have a little counter seating. The unisex bathroom is clean as well. There is parking across the street and an accessible ramp to get into the restaurant. On Sundays, they have a fun little competition for the hearty guests. If you can eat seven plates of biscuits and gravy ($15) you win a free meal and your photo on the wall. As of today, there are only 2 photos on the wall. I left without a piece of that gorgeous coconut pie. But I'll be back. This little diner is well worth the drive to Shelbyville. I'm told it gets crowded during peak hours, so get there early. Hot tip: your Yelp checkin gets you a discount.

If you find yourself in Shelbyville this could be the place to go. It isn't huge, but it is about as small town as you can get in ambiance. The portion sizes are very reasonable -- meaning you will be able to eat later in the day if you are here for breakfast -- and the prices might have you looking at your phone to see if you went back in time. Service is, of course, great as you would expect for this kind of place.

Craving a fried bologna sandwich? No worries, they can whip one up for ya!Good old home cooking that can't be beat! 5 ladies for lunch enjoyed a variety of menu items. Biscuits and gravy, pancakes as big as the plate they are served on, Greek salad, scrambled egg sandwich, pulled pork - it's all good.This small restaurant has a surprising number of seats and a family atmosphere. Staff is friendly and they even have a rewards program - I need 10 more points for a free dessert!Handicap ramp available. Reasonable pricing. Check the website for hours.

The food is some of the best in town. The family based ambiance makes the whole service enjoyable. Highly recommend giving this a place a try.

First time here. My aunt used to run a restaurant here as well. Biscuits n gravy are good and crispy bacon. Just wish the biscuits were bigger.

This place is Amazing! I have been here about 3 times and they have the nicest staff and amazing food! The Ambiance is very well lit and very clean! Overall a 10/10 experience

Friday we ate at lucky 7 cafe. I ordered house salad and my husband ordered breakfast. The food was very good and the cost was great. Our service was very good also We had eaten there before and it has always been good
