The Grand Reserve

Huge love to this venue. We held our KHAKY (Kidney Health Alliance of Kentucky) Trees of Life Gala fundraiser here on the same night as a popular hip hop artist in the same building so add nasty rain to that traffic and that was the worst part about the night! We entered by the Speakeasy parking side and had no problem finding parking for our event.From the moment you walk in this place has so much charm and potential for whatever event is being held there! The bar display was beautiful ! A real class piece. We took some pictures as we entered the speakeasy entryway with nice lighting. The main room was so spacious and wide. We had room for a stage/band and about 45 tables of various sizes for seating, trees, wreathes, silent auction items and more! There was veggie and cracker tray out for a snack before the buffet opened. The restrooms were absolutely beautiful as well, clean and stocked through the event. The place is classically decorated to suit any occasion. I wouldlove to attend more events there!

Attend an event here for New Years Eve. We had an absolute blast. The ambiance and experience was great. They had entertainment available with fire breathers and trapezes. There was plenty of room and the music was great. The bar area was pretty crowded and it took a minute to get a drink. Overall it was a blast and I'd recommend attending this event.

The Grand Reserve is always a good place to go. I attended a function there about 3 years ago then about 2 years ago and recently. It was wonderful each and every time.

The space, recently redone, is now comprised of four different venues -- the Grand Reserve, Barrel House, Speakeasy, and Distillery District. I would call them warehouse chic. Much attention to detail has created unique spaces, with exposed brick walls, one original from the 1860's, and walls made from barrel stays. It is now the home of Bluegrass Catering. I suggest you call and ask Kelly, one of the partners, to give you a tour to fully appreciate what has been done to this Distillery District venue. Quite something.

I am on the board of a nonprofit organization that recently hosted an event at the Grand Reserve. We previously held an event at the Barrel House and had a great experience working with the Bakehorn family and decided to have another event there again. This time, we had more attendees, so they moved us over to the Grand Reserve. The décor was classy, the food from Bluegrass Catering was delicious, and a wonderful time was had by all!

Nice event space. I loved the exposed brick walls - it gave the place some character. It seemed liked a really nice venue for weddings and receptions with a bar set-up at the back and plenty of room or tables and a dance floor. The food was tasty (I'm not sure of the caterer) but we enjoyed the pimento cheese and meatballs. The bar staff was friendly and they had fair prices for the cocktails.

I've been to several events at Grand Reserve and always appreciate the upscale atmosphere. I have been to beer festivals, Tops events, and other private events that all were perfect for the setting. I really like the bar, it's so modern looking. Would be perfect for a wedding reception, party, etc.

Atmosphere was just ok and the space did not let the people attending the event that the lot next to the location that is was paid parking. Its a 90 dollar parking ticket. They are obviously trying to scam people out of their money. Do not book here.

Do not book here, especially if you are a student group. Horrible management. I booked the Grand Reserve for a formal event in last December for a ~400 person party. We booked the venue for $8k for the night. We were kicked out after 2 hours, losing over half of our contracted time. No reason was given for our removal other than "vaping", which while likely occurred is far from a reason to end a party, at least in my opinion, and particularly without due warning. I called them the next day to talk about the situation and see if they were able to give any more reasoning to the decision hoping for a partial refund for the event or venue credit for a future event. The owner answered the phone with and cussed me out, saying they did not give a s*** about helping out an organization that trashed their venue. She accused out group of doing hard drugs in the venue, leaving blood everywhere, starting multiple fights, and damaging property. I asked what date she was referring to and she checked her calendar and realized she was referring to a completely different event that happened over two weeks before ours. She did not apologize, told me she still didn't give a s*** about helping honor our commitments, and when legal action was threatened said she would "love to bury you with my lawyer" and alluded to reporting our party for "vaping and everything else" (with no clarification as to what exactly everything else was) to our University and hung up on me. I attempted to call the next day and was hung up on again as soon as I said my name. The venue itself is aestethically attractive, although hard to appreciate given the circumstances. Security could be improved, as multiple members of my party were harassed by homeless people while waiting for rides outside and felt unsafe. Would not reccomend, particularly for any large reservations. If you do make this reservation, expect to overpay to be kicked out whenever the management decide they want to go home for the day.

Food was good. Bar was great. However, due to either staffing issues or disingenuous guarantees made by the owner and staff, we 100% did NOT receive what we paid for and was agreed upon in contract as far as decor, florals, etc goes for our daughters wedding. Owner was great beforehand, but absolutely did not deliver on day of event. Owner did not provide explanation after the fact and actually stopped responding. Check was cashed by them pretty fast, however. Very, very disappointing. Feel very taken advantage of they are aware of their shortcomings and did nothing to resolve or explain
