A sweet little boutique hotel in the middle of whiskey and bourbon row. Although my room was small and due to the location being a back corner, kind of dark, the soaring ceiling made up for it (next time I'd try to get a room that's not on the ground floor... for my mental health). There is no gym, as others mention, but you can get one free day pass to the gym across the street and after that one comp pass, it's 10 dollars a day. What I loved most about my stay here: the amazing bed/linens (next to impossible to get up in the morning, no exaggeration) and the 2 varieties of robes, one silky (in homage to Mohammed Ali) and one plush and warm. My room was on the chilly side, even with the thermostat bizarrely set at 75, so I appreciated that robe. I absolutely love CO Bigelow bath products and I'm thankful when they don't get you the tiny bottles but have the big dispenser on the shower walls.Location: I'm not really interested in whiskey, but if you are, you're in the midst of a lot of it. There's a bakery/coffee shop next to the hotel that I didn't try and a really good one (Blackbeard Espresso) a block down. I did try to find places to eat in the vicinity but I didn't see a lot of options. NuLu is nearby enough, if a bit of a walk, and there's a lot over there.Admittedly, I prefer a large hotel with more amenities, but the staff here was nice and helpful (printed something for me) and the basement bar/restaurant is OK (but closes at 9:30 and it's on the pricey side).

Pros: The Grady is a beautiful boutique hotel in a great location on Whiskey Row. The lobby has plenty of comfy seating to relax and enjoy a drink by the faux fireplace that surprisingly emitted a lot of heat. The rooms are cozy, with a comfy bed and a mini-fridge for cold waters (which you'll need after drinking bourbon). We enjoyed the Wild Swann restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Cons: We booked a weekend special where we could check out as late as 5pm to enjoy more bourbon tours and tastings before our evening flight, though we were annoyed that our keys stopped working in the afternoon and we had to go back down to the front desk to reset them. There also isn't always someone at the front to help - a housekeeping staffer had to call someone else while I waited for quite some time. All that said, I'd probably stay here again for the weekend deal and location. It's across the street from Evan Williams, a 10 minute walk to Old Forester, and about a 20 minute walk to Angel's Envy, among other distilleries.

This is my 3rd visit to Louisville and The Grady has become my favorite boutique hotel. The hotel is located right on Main Street walkable to bars and restaurants. The lobby is beautifully decorated and there's artwork throughout this historic building that was built in 1883, which was commissioned by pharmacist J.B. Wilder as a medicinal bourbon apothecary. Our king room was small, but had plenty of drawers and a small closet for clothes. There is a room safe and small refrigerator in the closet. The bathroom is a nice size with a huge shower. The bed was very comfortable. I also liked the great steamer provided. The staff at The Grady went out of their way, very kind and friendly. Shoutout to Linda in the evenings. We loved seeing her and chatting each day. She'd make sure we had water bottles as did other front desk staff. The negatives ... no coffee maker in the room. It was a pain to have to get dressed and go to the lobby or restaurant for our complimentary first cup of the day. Messy hair, no makeup - ugh. BIG fail. Also, our room facing Main Street was very loud because of racing cars zooming by and loud people. The noise gave us interrupted sleep. Ask for a room away from the street. I highly recommend the Grady. It's in a perfect location, beautifully decorated and extremely well kept rooms with a comfortable bed. We absolutely loved this hotel.

Brandon met us at the door, eager to help. Alexa and Marcola did a great job to welcome us and check us in. We had a blast at this hotel. Our room is great, very modern, the lobby and seating areas are wonderful. The best fireplace! A special treat, we found the lounge restaurant downstairs, it had a speakeasy flair to it. Cocktails are great and that's where we met Melanie, Josh and Lance, they are awesome! Rooms were great, bed was comfy and the shower was good. We went to grab a bite to eat, and when we came back, we were able to get into a great conversation with Brandon. Great people! Great cocktails in the wild Swann. The history of this building is amazing. It used to be a hat factory. I decided to go for breakfast and that's where I met Mark, he was delightful.I WOULD RECOMMEND $40 for valet, and the note sounded like they did have street racing last night.

This hotel is gorgeous, inside and out, the rooms are extremely well kept and the staff is outstanding! They are the nicest and most helpful people around, especially to travelers who don't know the area at all. They do their best to help in every way- we even got snowed in without any food and their chef stayed to help us out with some food. The generosity is out of this world and again the hotel is just amazing comfort and aesthetic wise. 100/10 recommend staying here!

TLDR: Great place! Close to many things! Hyatt affiliated. Valet Parking $40 overnightThis is a great boutique hotel situated right at the main street in downtown louisville. There were many reason why we picked this hotel.1. I am a Hyatt member. Since this is a small luxury hotel, if you book through Hyatt, it includes free breakfast, no status needed!2. It's close to everything. It's kind of in the middle of Main street, there are Michter's distillery, buzzard root, peerless on one side. Old forester on the side 10 minutes walking.3. Valet parking is $40 a night, yikes. We still picked this hotel over hyatt regency because of the location, even though HR has free parking.I believe our room was at the top level, it has super high ceiling, I would guess 16 ft? All amenities has a modern updated design. Very speakeasy like. The main lobby area is somewhat between french modern and speakeasy bespoke/poshWe had breakfast 3 days in the basement, they are all cooked to order and very fresh. All staffs were friendly, shout out to all of them! We had a great experience at check in, valet, restaurants, night staff

This hotel was absolutely wonderful. I found them on Yelp about a month prior to my visit and the reviews and photos sold me. I booked a room for 3 nights, right then and there, and when the day came to check in, it was perfect. First, the location is prime time. Second, their staff was incredibly friendly, as in above and beyond, they brightened my day/night each time I walked through the lobby. Third, the vibes are on point. Very elegant, says Louisville in a classy way. Fourth, my room was super comfy and chic. The bathroom was huge, the bed, comfy, and I loved that it had a refrigerator. I was even told that the giant luxurious robe in my closet paid homage to Muhammad Ali (he was from Lou). Next, the continental breakfast was interesting. In the basement of the lobby is a restaurant/cocktail lounge. You had to go down there and sit down at a table and order. Not what you would expect and it was simple (fruit, a croissant, and a drink). It just took a lot longer than the normal, buffet style breakfast. I wish I had time to grab a drink or full meal there. Very cool space, kinda of speakeasy-like. In short, I would totally stay here again and would recommend it to anyone... hence the five stars. I don't have a single complaint.

I do not give five star reviews. Ever. This place was absolutely fantastic. My wife and I went down for a show at a local venue and had an incredible night. The staff, especially Alexa, absolutely exemplify southern hospitality. Our room was great. Soft, comfy bed, big bathroom with very modern amenities, and the room was spacious with all the things you expect from a solid place to stay. Very classy hotel. The Wild Swan was one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had as well. We had dinner the night before at Repeal and had a great experience, but I'd rather go back to the Wild Swan. My wife had the biscuits and gravy for brunch and I had the hot honey with chicken. It was absolutely incredible. The ambience and design of the restaurant is gorgeous, and Mark, the gentleman who took care of us, was perfection. Highly recommend having your own experience and DO NOT miss the brunch. It's excellent.
