We came here for a work retreat. We were pleased with the accommodations and meeting spaces. The food was included in our package and it was ok. They had both a salad and soup bar and a hot bar option. I ate a lot of salads during my visit. Breakfast was similar a hot bar. The rooms are somewhat dated but it worked out just fine. I loved the balcony view which looked right into the woods, so serene. We also had a team building activity which was so much fun! They planned such a great event for us.

1st issue is there's no signs saying hotel this way so I drive around looking for the hotel for 10 mins. It's waaaaaaaay up a sharp incline winding road the has 0 lights and 0 guard rails. I almost drove off the side a few times and when I car is coming it's the worst. The room.... you better get on a travel site becuse the full price is way over priced for this place. It veras from 80To 120 depending on the night. You get double queens that hurt my back both nights, I very thin blanket that I ended you getting the one off the other get to not freeze to death becuse the heat was Bibolar. The heat got turned on and it be cold one second and burning up the next without touching the temp them back to cold. The water bath/shower was messed up. Biggest issue was it never got hot. It was always luck warm it's slippery and they gave a foot by foot none slip mate in the shower. The handy cap bars are in the weirdest places for kids I guess. I called to get room service to clean, towels, trash extra blanket they never showed up I had to track them down to get towels. But on the bright side I was told this was the only place in town That didn't have bed bugs

This lodge isn't the biggest lodge out of all the lodges and all of the Kentucky State Parks, but it's a nice lodge. The roads have been recently updated and have a nice wood floors and nice wood paneling on the walls. The rooms also have flat screen TVs with nice clear, crisp images on them. The rooms also have individual little lights on the wall behind the beds for people who want to read in bed and not bother the other people in the room. The bathrooms are clean and nice in the rooms as well. The swimming pool is nice and well maintained, but I didn't get in it while I was here.If you want interesting things to do while you are staying at the lodge, you could go visit the Butler Turpin house here at the park or go visit a nearby winery. There are plenty of things to do in the area to keep you entertained as well.

A basic electric site is listed on their site as $32. After all the taxes and processing fees it comes out just over $40. Not sure what we are paying for here... the park staff is too lazy to move the picnic tables back into the grass after mowing. You have to move them for yourself if you want to park on your designated concrete pad. Also it was hard to sleep with the sound of semis engine braking all night. You are very close to your neighbors as well... with no trees or shrubs for privacy between sites. They have WiFi but it is too slow to use. Glad we are just staying one night.

The setting for the lodge itself is beautiful, the rooms not so much. My room was musty smelling and in a serious need of a remodeling. The wood paneling looked straight of someone's basement, stained carpet, and dim lighting, even with every lamp on. Each room does have a small outdoor patio that overlooks the pool, and every room is non-smoking.The walls and floors did little to dampen sound, I could clearly hear the conversation in the room next to mine, and I could hear every footstep above. While there was a coffee maker, ironing board and iron in the room, there was no mini-fridge and just a 19" tube TV. The A/C unit barely worked and was very loud. There was no hot water for the shower, lukewarm at best. This was also something I overheard from the room next to mine, so I know I wasn't alone in this. There are several chain hotels nearby the park, I would suggest staying in one of those if you happen to visit.

We stayed there both during my interview with a nearby company. We liked it enough to outer stay here during our house hunting trip. We love the rooms in the main hotel and the cabins were very nice and include a full kitchen. The rooms were a little rustic but we liked them, the pool was nice and the rates were excellent. Highly recommend.

I end up in Carrollton every couple of months for work; this trip I decided to try something different than the Holiday Inn Express. I was going to try the Beltera Casino but after getting very frustrated with their website I decided to try this instead.I was pleasantly surprised; the room is big, the bed is comfortable and the wifi is better than the last Hilton I stayed at. I have a nice patio overlooking the woods, the main door opens out over the (very big) pool and the 42" TV has multiple HDMI ports. The price (mid-week pre-Memorial Day) is about half the Holiday Inn, the only thing it lacks is a free breakfast. There is a restaurant and a bar; I haven't tried the bar; the food was good at the restaurant but the service was lacking. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town.

A no-frills, clean room and no complaints beyond not having hot water, only warm. Beautiful setting and great views from the lodge's great room. Much better value than other local options.
