The Domestic is a little newer to the vintage scene in Lexington, but it's one of my favorites. I would describe most of their inventory as boho-chic, maybe some kitsch thrown in. Not traditional for sure, and I always find a small item that adds a splash of color and uniqueness to my home. Most prices are pretty reasonable. They also have an extensive vintage clothing selection. They have a lot of art and modern prints. They get new inventory often and do great Instagram sales as well. They do Venmo sales. And they have a ton of plants and planters; I wish I had a green thumb because their stock is amazing. Just today, I learned one of their plants in the store is reported to have lived with a couple for over 50 years. The owners are young, hip, creative, and very nice. They are taking social distancing and cleanliness seriously. This is in my top two or three shopping spots in Lexington.

Even though I really enjoy The Domestic, my recent experience was not a good one. Before I begin, I completely understand we are in a pandemic and must abide by certain regulations. I am also aware that The Domestic requires an appointment to shop. When I previously made an appointment, they allowed walk-ins. Because of this, I arrived and asked if it was okay if I browsed even though I didn't make an appointment. I wanted to check out their clothing and vinyl collection for my birthday. The man at the counter rudely said "Well, what's it say on the door?" I replied "Appointment required" and left. I have honestly never felt more unwelcomed or out of place. I am understanding. We are all under stressful times and he must get that question a lot, but being rude and unwelcoming is still not cool. Especially since I was polite and acknowledged I didn't have an appointment. Anyway, they offer a great collection of furniture, clothing, records and more. It's one of the better second-hand stores in Lexington.

Wow, I don't know how anyone could leave empty handed from this place! After being greeted by the very handsome shop cat, we gazed for over an hour at all of the cool vintage finds. From mid century modern to boho, there's a genre of vintage for everyone. I was underwhelmed with the clothing choices, but blown away by the amount of kitschy decor, furniture, and artwork. I will be back!

I found the most wonderful vintage clothing pieces here! My dream brown and white polka dot sundress (think the polo match in Pretty Woman) and a Koret of California wrap skirt from the 70s. I also found a green Samsonite train case that I just love. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Lexington.

I love this place and found it by accident when someone on marketplace said this item could be seen here. I looked them up and was surprised by all the interesting things shown on the website. I was intrigued and could not wait to visit in person. I was so visually stimulated by everything in the store I had to walk around several times to see as much as I could in my first visit. They had beautiful vintage clothing in a section in back. The store held many treasures including mid century modern furnishing, interesting wall art, records, jewelry, lockers, beautiful furnishings, and too many other items to list. I will put this store on a regular visit rotation. I did not purchase on first visit but sure I will in the future!

Lots of quirky options here! They have a whole section of furniture, home decor, lighting, rugs, etc. And then in the back is a huge area of vintage/used/retro clothing and accessories! I've yet to peruse the clothing area in depth but from passing through they seem to have lots of fun stuff. Furniture and home options are really solid and fair prices. We got a little retro side table for a great deal. They run flash sales on Instagram from time to time so be on the lookout!

LOVE THIS PLACE! It's full of various booths from vintage and thrift hunters but it's all one big warehouse store. It's a dream of a spot with super nice people and amazing finds. If you like vintage, mid century modern, kitsch - then this is a must stop! Come here every time I'm in Lexington.

One of my favorite places in Lexington! My house is filled with a mixture of styles and periods. All over quirky, this is the perfect place to find treasures! Candace and her husband are the sweetest and I'm thankful to have this business close to home.

I have loved this business virtually for a long time and went there in person for the first time today. I highly recommend this local business for furnishings and lovely, unique gifts. Get off Amazon and out of the mall and IKEA. You will find lasting value in our all - too - often disposable world. I did not get to meet the cat ( I mean VP of marketing) They were in their office so I'll have to go back soon.

Wow...this place made me feel very old (I am 66 years old). That said, it is an immaculate venue with very friendly workers. I thought, these are all the things I remember as a child, but then I found a few treasures. I highly recommend to anyone who loves mid-century treasures.
