The Cup Cakery

I ordered a double layer birthday cake and sent in many pics as examples to show them what I wanted. Picked up the cake on the pick-up day and though it wasn't as "pretty" as I had wanted it to look, I figured the cake would taste better than the decoration. I was pretty disappointed when I took a big bite of my slice of cake, the bottom layer was dry and crumbly (either it was old or over baked) but the top layer was okay. I had asked for the icing to not be so sweet, but I guess they use pre-made tub frostings because it was as sweet as Betty Crocker's store bought icing. I asked for whipped cream cheese frosting, but she said they didn't do that type of frosting. I have had so many people rave about this bakery, and their store actually looks very nice and well kept. There are several beautiful cakes on their websites as well.Maybe I just got a bad cake, I don't know, but I expected better from a bakery that came with so many high recommendations.

Worst. Birthday Cake. EVER! Extremely dry and mealy with no flavor. The decorating could have been done by a 4 year old. I have a picture. This cake was 40 DOLLARS!!! When I called to see if they would do anything about it I was told they were sorry and they hoped we would come again. Really??? No thank you!! Do not get your cakes here.

We picked up a birthday cake from this bakery in Owensboro and cannot have been more disappointed. Look: 7/10. Cake closely looked like our design but was kind of sloppy in the decorations. Was fine for a kids birthday party.Taste: 2/10. This is where the cake fell flat. The cake was dry and crumbly. Didn't taste old just over cooked a lot. Flavor of the cake was non existent, tasted like sugar and flour. The icing was what was supposed to be a butter cream but it tasted like cool whip mixed with shortening. No flavor, very off putting. Would not recommended this place

I bought two cupcakes from this store today - a cookies and cream one and a red velvet one. Both looked very presentable. The taste was lovely. Not dry and crumbly as some other reviews have suggested. I had no complaints about these cupcakes. I do think that people should know that the ownership of this business has changed recently. As I understand it, the owner used to be one lady and now it is owned by an older couple. I feel confident in saying that the quality of the product has definitely improved since this change. I wouldn't let some outdated bad reviews deter you from giving this place a try.

Ordered a pull-apart cake (cupcake cake) and it was a hit. Yummy and well decorated.

The first time I went into the cup cakery, the owner was on the verge of tears and threatening to close the shop. I tried the cupcakes and they were very dry, like store bought. I'd rather go to Sugar on 54
