We decided to check this place out while visiting. The place is not much to look at. The sweet tea was good. Getting a refill was challenging. The chicken tenders were good, they obviously make those there, the alleged fried pork chops were obviously some cheap frozen pieces of meat that tasted nothing like pork. Those were disgusting. Mashed potatoes were okay.

Long time favorite. Great servers and the best chicken tenders in town! It's always a clean dining experience. The Buffett is generally full up and always hot. I look forward to going there cause Terry always makes you feel like your home.

Absolutely horrible. This goes for atmosphere, food and service alike. Our waitress disappeared after bringing us our drinks and we didn't see her again for the entire meal. Most seats in the dining area were ripped and faded and the decor looked like it came from Big Lots, making it more uncomfortable than hospitable. The food itself wasn't exactly disgusting, but was essentially a meal I could have made myself from the Great Value freezer section. In short, I will not be going back and would advise you not to go at all.

Where do I begin?First off, the buffet. Not good. Chicken tenders are good - everything else is super bland. Almost like a tan sock. Second - the atmosphere was also bad. It was that of a gloomy day. The waiters and waitresses did nothing but run around aimlessly. Which brings me to my next point - they were running around with giant bowls of food, coming straight out of the very visible and obvious microwave. One of better experiences of this place had nothing to do with this being a good place to go to at all, as one of the waiters pushed a cart of about 50 plates and 20 cups. The cart rolling on the ground was making the most racket ever imaginable and the waiter trying to go slow and lessen the noise only dragged it out. Everyone watched in confusion. I did not realize that the food also came with a show.bad.

The Creek Side Family Restaurant (referred to just as 'Creekside' by anyone in town) is one of those locally owned sit down southern cuisine restaurants that pretty much every other town in Kentucky has if you look hard enough. The staff are nice, the food is hit or miss, the ambiance is distinctly semi-fancy southern (think lots of polished wood with mounted deer on the wall), and the service depends entirely on how busy they are at any given moment. My most recent visit was my first time trying their lunch service, and now I know why:1. The chicken tenders were fresh, juicy and warm though in some spots a bit gristly, which is on par with how they always are. 2. My side of mashed potatoes was very cold upon arrival, but...3. Our food took a half hour to hit the table thus we had little time to spare, and on top of that...4. It took the lunch staff's only waitress several minutes to come check on us after someone from the kitchen brought the food out. She was very kind when she was able to make it over our way, but having every table to herself certainly doesn't help speed of service and I hope whoever's making the schedule realizes as much. They're better staffed during dinner services but because they're so busy there's oftentimes little discernible difference in wait times unless you get the buffet... which is fine when it's fresh but *only* when it's fresh. I really wish they still had competition in town; when I was younger we had a Ponderosa whose food quality wasn't as good, but their buffet selection was so much more expansive it forced Creekside to perform to a higher standard in order to keep customers. Now they're the only feasible semi-fancy restaurant in town, which I say only because Colton's Steakhouse has a hokey theme that puts it out of the running and Brother's BBQ is closed on Sunday and Monday.Anyway, all in all, if you're planning to eat here try the dinner service first. I don't believe the lunch service is fast enough for anyone trying to take a lunch break, nor good enough to justify the wait.(Full disclosure at the end here: I would likely bump them up to three stars assuming all of my food's at an edible temperature the next time I'm there. But I'll be honest, it might be a while before I go back. After all, I make a pretty mean mashed potato myself. )

Nice place to eat, pretty good sweet tea, but if we're talking food then I have to be honest, nothing has any taste. Ive stopped in for the buffet on a few different occasions and its always bland. I usually never grab for salt n pepper, but in this place it is a must.

My husband and I ate there a couple of weeks ago. We both ordered the catfish. I had fries, he had baked potato and slaw. We both had cornbread. We both know good catfish and this was very good. The food was hot and fresh, and the cornbread was really good. We will go back!

Stopped by this gem while working in the area. At first glance, the buffet seemed to be a bit small, but the quality made up that and them some. The chicken tenders and meatloaf was fabulous. The buffet also included a salad bar that was loaded to the gills with toppings. This was probably the best cornbread that I have ever eaten. I will be sure to stop in again if ever in the area!

Creek side for the most part is a golf solid choice for a meal.salad bar is good. The chicken on bar can be iffy at times. Sometimes chewy. The service and price is a very good deal. Love their meatloaf and stewed tomatoes.

We went to Creekside after a day at the lake randomly. We all got the buffet, and for $8.99 a person (and $1.99 for the 4 year old in our party), you can't get any better than this. The food was fresh even though we were there about 30 minutes before close. The food all tasted homemade and everyone at our table had a good experience. We definitely will be back.
