I'm checking out a past haunt we use to visit weekly. Great greeting! The atmosphere is still warm, cozy, and friendly.

We sat outside and discovered they had live music, which was great but...was just way too loud. Now, this isn't a case of "if it's too loud, you're too old". We were at the race track all day and around plenty of loud cars, however this music was smothered out all of our conversations. At first it thought it was just us, but as we walked in and got settled we saw 2 tables of 4 people stand up and leave while muttering that they couldn't hear each other. Then during the course of our meal we saw another 2 people walk out complaining about the music volume. That's 10 people in an hour. Not sure I'd want to loose that business simply due to volume. The artists sounded just fine, but way too loud. Now on to the second major problem...terrible service. Our server Westley was borderline horrendous. Walked over to our table handed us menus and left. No intro, no welcome, no specials, poor attitude. Completely inattentive throughout the meal, never checked on us, left drinks sitting empty, cleared some plates, left others that were clearly finished on the table, overall poor service. Which is ironic, because there is a blurb on the menu which says something like "This isn't a fast food restaurant. Our food is made to order. Tip your server. A 20% fee maybe added". Ok, well try having a professional waitstaff who doesn't belong working at a fast food restaurant and that might be more applicable. When we were getting ready to leave, after my drinks had been sitting there empty, I asked for another water and a Diet Coke to go. Leaving the two empty glasses sitting right in front of me, he brought me two new drinks, NOT in a togo cup, and still left the 2 empty glasses. I would return and sit inside, but never with Westley. Prime rib was good, but needed some more seasoning. French Onion soup was lacking flavor and poor overall.

We went out here to celebrate my wife's birthday. I wasn't at this point super hungry as I had eaten a very late lunch but decided to order the patty melt with potato salad. The waitress was newer but did a great job with getting us our drinks and food. The potato salad was very food as was the patty melt. I would have liked more onions though. I tasted food and fresh though and the prices were quite reasonable. I saw a broad array of choices too and someone else got a steak that looked amazing so I know what to order next time when I am more hungry.

So my last review stated that I had been given some great reviews about this restaurant but my experience hadn't been a great one. The staff, environment and all that was and is great. I just didn't enjoy my food. With that said I went back and had one of the best steaks I've ever had. And the absolute best cooked steak I've EVER had. I order a medium rare filet and it was perfection. I'm glad I gave this place another chance. Will definitely be back!

Not a place I would frequent, but it's a decent watering hole for groups. The food isn't anything to write home about. It could certainly use an update, as it's really outdated. Service was good overall too.

This is an old-school restaurant and it is popular among the older crowd. It does not have real good signage and can easily be passed. The building itself it not marked. You will only see the tall restaurant sign along the street. It is tucked away near the Cracker Barrel, if that helps. It has a large private parking lot, with more than enough spaces and a huge dining area. There ia also have a full bar with seating and a small patio area. You will find televisions, without sound, around the dining and bar areas. The restaurant serves up you typical diner favorites such as burgers, fish, salads, steak, tenderloin, wings and Mexican food. They have a packed menu. Be sure to ask about there daily specials.I went with the prime rib and cheddar melt, with a side of fries. It took about 12 minutes minutes for them to prepare my food and have it at my table. It was fresh, hot and delicious. The prime rib was tender and flavorful. I really liked it and highly recommend it.The staff was nice and the restaurant was clean. It had a nostalgic, antique/historic vide. This is an obscure diamond in the rough that is definitely a viable option for diner or lunch.

Ask me where I want to go after picking me up at the Indianapolis International Airport? Well that would be The Coachman for a breaded tenderloin sandwich. One of the best tenderloin sandwiches in central Indiana and it's always consistently delicious. Lightly breaded and pounded out thin but not too thin on a nice sized fresh baked bun with all the fixings, side of fries were not the best and next time I need to remember to get onion rings instead. The atmosphere is cozy and feels like an old friend each time I eat here. Our server was attentive, fast, and friendly. If you moved from the land of the breaded tenderloin (Indiana) to a tenderloin desert (Texas), do yourself a favor and get your tenderloin fix at the Coachman.

We came here on a Wednesday after visiting with family in the area. I'm glad we came here on a Wednesday since it was .99c wing night! Delicious wings and a large menu selection of other dinner items if wings are not your favorite. The decor is old school. We sat at the bar and had a couple drinks. It was busy but everyone was friendly. If you're in the area I'd definitely recommend stopping by.

Gave this restaurant a second chance, and much improved from our first visit! Short 10 minute wait on a Saturday night. Once seated, service was maybe a tad on the slower side but nothing life altering. Food was good. I had French onion soup with fish and chips and my husband ordered the Rueben. Our meals were tasty and portions were as expected. French onion soup was exceptional! Our server would bring fresh waters but never took the old glasses nor did he clear the finished soup when the meal came, so dishes did pile up on the end of the table. Interior was clean and quiet. Overall good meal and we would come back again!

I really debated between two and three stars for this one. It's a bit on me that we had an issue with our server and didn't bring it to their management to possibly rectify. But on the other hand, it was a thing that I shouldn't have had to deal with. You can read the other reviews if you want more info on the food - It's fine, think slightly higher end non-chain Applebee's level of food. Great atmosphere, (mostly) good service, etc. Here's my issue. Our server was polite and prompt all through our date. We went on a Monday night. We were a little dressed up. Both wearing our wedding rings. Clearly (I thought) on a date together. But at the end of our meal, our server asked if we wanted separate checks. I'm white, the husband is Asian. It's 2023. Surely we are not the first, or second, or 500th mixed race couple to dine in that restaurant. It was very off putting and pretty much ruined my experience there. Like it never even occurred to our server that we were together.
