The Bluebird

Bluebird has never let me down. It doesn't matter what you pick from the menu you wont be disappointed. When you bite in to it you will know it's fresh and seasoned to perfection. Anytime im in the Stanford area during their hours of operation this is always my go to.

A little out of the way but we were over this way on the bourbon trail at Wilderness Trail so we stopped in. Not too busy and we got a table right away. Our server was great. Very local kind of vibe. Nice inside. Food was pretty good. I had the spicy chicken wrap. Really good. Overall it was ok. I enjoyed most of what we had but Deb was not too impressed with her FGT BLT. Solid spot for breakfast or lunch.

Definitely worth the drive food and service were amazing will definitely return when I am in Kentucky we had the hot brown a burger and the best peach cobbler ever

Service was very good until it came time to get our meal. All four of our meals sat under a heat lamp for probably 10 minutes before we were served, and in fact, others arriving after we did, got their food before we did. While our food was sitting there, our server said she'd be right back AFTER she fixed drinks for another table, which again, came in after we did.Three of us ordered the Hot Brown sandwich, which would have been fantastic, had it been warmer than room temperature. Even then, it was good, with the gouda sauce and the bread base being highlights.This is the second time I've eaten here, and frankly, both times were OK but disappointing for various reasons.

Excellent food and service. Give this place a try and enjoy. Bluebirds is now on our list of favorites

My first time at this restaurant although my friends have been there before. Waitress was very pleasant and took our orders. Four of us . 3 of us ordered the hot brown. We ordered our food before those drinks were ordered. And the waitress never brought them to us. One of the food prep guys brought them to us and like expected, they were not hot to say the least. Great service, excellent coffee and amazing food! Their breakfast is absolutely delicious and lunch is even better! We love that they sell a local Kentucky coffee Baxter's! I highly recommend the burrito for breakfast with egg, sausage and lots of tasty Gouda cheese! Their potatoes served with breakfast are cooked perfectly!

It's tough to decide three or four stars. This place leans toward 3.5 stars. Over time there have been many staffing changes, which has affected the quality of the food. Though there seemed to only be one server, she worked hard to keep all patrons happy and cared for.I got the bluebird Bennie, which was ham, fried green tomatoes, smoked Gouda sauce, red pepper coulis, and over easy eggs. Unconventional idea of a Bennie, not my style, a little heavy, but not bad.My husband had the fried green tomatoes, which were crispy on the outside and well seasoned on the inside. He also had eggs, biscuits, and gravy, which he enjoyed.During the lunch hour, I enjoy their smokehouse pasta.

Was planning an anniversary meal for my wife and gave her 5 choices. She picked the Bluebird for lunch. It has been a favorite of ours for years. Love the fact that all products served are raised/grown locally. For our meal we started with the Gouda cheese dip and fries, if you've never had this it's a must! We each had a wrap, my wife had a cup of soup and I had Gouda macaroni and cheese. The food is always off the chart! If you're in the area make the Bluebird a must stop, you will not be disappointed!

In our opinion, cost did not equate to the taste of the food. The positives: Food presentation was nice and food was hot. The place itself appeared clean and seating was ample and comfortable. We were seated immediately upon entry by a hostess. All of the staff we encountered were very pleasant. Our server kept our coffee cups filled without our having to flag her down. These factors were easily a 5.However, nothing that we ordered - in our opinion- justified the cost of the food. We paid $13 for two very basic slices of French toast. With 0 sides. If we added a biscuit, for example, $3. Or a side such as potatoes, etc - either $3 or $4 each side. And so if you wanted sides with your French toast, with each side being $3 or $4, all of a sudden, you are looking at a breakfast that can possibly cost $20!! And there was nothing special or unique about the food that we ordered/was served. Our final bill for three for basic breakfast foods actually exceeded some of our dinner prices at other restaurants.I'm sorry but in this economy, there are so many other places where we can spend our money and get better quality and quantity of food for less cost. We don't see ourselves returning.
