I wish the food had lived up to how nice the owner/chef is - didn't really feel like any type of Italian cuisine that I normally enjoy (been to Italy 4 times!), but maybe suited for other's pallets. Might try again given other's reviews.

I won the $10 gift card via YelpLou and I was ecstatic, because I already wanted to try this place. I tried it today (Thursday) and it was delicious! The owners Paula and her husband were super sweet and checked me out. I came in to pick up my order near closing time, but they both were super bubbly and joyful which is what is needed during the year of 2020. The customer service and conversation matched the food. The wings were so tender they fell off the bone. You could even eat the bone if you're into that, because they were super soft too. The meat and other ingredients are Kentucky Proud, so great quality for the price! The sub was the perfect amount of meat to tomato to pepper ratio. The bread was soft and they even put Olive Oil instead of butter, since I'm dairy sensitive! If you're Vegan they have options for you too. For every $9.95 you purchase you get a hole punch and on your 10th visit, you get a menu item up to $11.95 for free. I'll definitely be back to try other menu items!

Soooo, I've actually heard of this place a while back, I think via a Yelp event.... And always wanted to try it out.. Well, when I seen a special deal on TV, it sparked my memory and I seen a perfect opportunity to give it a try... And am I glad I did... Mmmmmmm mm Delicious!!We got the sampler: Pasta in hearty marinara with grilled meatballs... Creamy garlic formaggio pasta with grilled chicken bites... Then we ordered extra meatballs,... Some Smoked Chicken Wings.... Roasted Garlic Potatoes.... And the Lemon Kale Salad....Everything Was soooo Good and Fresh!!This is a definite Must Try .... And I will surely become a regular customer!!

It was such a privilege to finally try food from the Black Italian. This was a business giving me fomo. I had heard so many good things from so many people. I had some vegan pasta at a catered event. The pasta was so delicious, I took a leftover box home. With catered food, items are not always be piping hot, especially during a meeting that has speakers and presentations. It was good. It wasn't cold either. I just remember it being good. If that can distract from items not being piping hot, that's a win for me. Everyone at the meeting had good things to say about the food. Even the salad was delicious, and we all know places that don't put much effort into the side salad. I am so glad I was able to finally try this. I will be back.

This spot is very welcoming and food is great. Myself and a friend often visit while driving in from Bardstown. The owner and Chef often recognizes us and makes us feel at home. Sitting outside eating is awesome while people watching. The meatballs and sauce are special. Lots of care and love in each dish. Keep doing what you are doing BI! We will be back soon. Keep an eye out on WDRB restaurant gift certificate advertising . Nobody loves a deal better than me.

Amazing! Not often does a dish make you verbally make noise on the first bite because it is so good . I will be back!!

Been wanting to try this place for a while. Had lunch delivered. The meatball sliders arrived as 1 small meatball sub. Pretty good. The meatballs were advertised as grilled, as are all the meats. I didn't really enjoy the smokiness of them. Otherwise they were good. Good texture and size. Couldn't really distinguish any other flavors. I also ordered dessert and was disappointed that it was not homemade.

Went to the Black Italian last night. The restaurant is designed more for tsk out since there is 2 tables inside and a small counter and 2 sidewalk tables. We ordered 2 sample platters and the zucchini entree with salads. The salads were very good and the sample platters we had the red pepper tomato basil sauce on both and then had the heart marinara on one and the creamy formaggio on the other. Both platters were ok. The zucchini entree was a little too watery. Would have also liked more bread than a tiny sliver. The left offer food did not fare well the next day.

The food was delicious!!! My husband and I always try to try new local places to celebrate our anniversary and this was a HIT!! I called the order in and it was ready and correct when I picked it up. We had the Sampler Platters and wings. We enjoyed every bite. We'll be back for sure.
