To the people complaining that the portions were small, if you order a "petite" filet and then complain that it's small, well, it's hard to take you seriously. Besides, not everyone expects a restaurant to pile on food as if you were headed to the electric chair. The salad I had was plenty big enough for two people, and the 6oz. filet I had came with a nice sized portion of mashed potatoes and broccoli...it was more than enough food. My wife had the salmon, which she enjoyed, and the portion size was just fine, too. We were also given bread that came with butter with honey on it. So, unless someone is a bottomless pit, there's no way you can leave hungry. Our food was very good, nice and hot, and my steak was cooked perfectly. I had asked for no egg on my salad, but when it came out it had it mixed throughout. I mentioned it to our server, he apologized, took it off our bill, and brought me another one. He made it right, so I see no reason to ding him for it; hey, it happens. On top of having an excellent meal, the setting is absolutely stunning. The Netherland Plaza is architecturally my favorite hotel in Cincinnati...it's like you're on a grand Art Deco ocean liner from the 1930s (think Ile de France or Normandie).Overall, we had an excellent experience.

Oh, Omni, What has happened to you? I was there last year with a small group and had a fantastic time with a meal that was indescribable to the point of recommending to all I came in contact with. This year however, was a completely different story. More limited selections. Higher pricing. Lower food quality. Where to start? Turkey Loaf on Thanksgiving? Sandwich meat for Thanksgiving? Steak sliced to resemble prime Rib? I even got chastised for choosing my own piece with the tongs in front of the meat. It was like the "carvers" were trying to hide something. What I would have given for just pain corn or even broccoli. Not everyone is into ulta fancy and appreciate simple. You did serve lunchmeat after all. Quality - the piece of fish in Loks sauce was like eating fish jerky. The price! $162 for 2 seniors. Really? 2 buffets and a glass of wine. $162!! And you served lunch meat! last year I understood the pricing since it included tipping. This year I was told that it did not. Dinner was not worth over $200!Our server was fantastic with my Dad who has some challenges. She truly made my Dad's day and that's tough to do. He couldn't stop talking about her all the way home. She's a keeper. The rest of your staff from the bussers to hostesses were awesome in their own ways as well. You've got to do better. Make it worth the $65 - $85. Go above Gold Corral and we may be back.

Everything about this place was magical! A step back in time with the atmosphere, and attention to detail! Our waitress was a breath of fresh air! Sharde was professional yet fun! She helped us select an excellent drink and meal! We were visiting for just one night, but this meal will be remembered as a highlight of our trip!

The apricot tart is amazing. We ordered all the deserts and they were all great, but the tart was my favorite. There's live music on the grand piano Tuesday through Saturday. The hotel is stunning and sitting at the bar or dining room gives you a stunning view of the art deco architecture. The front desk staff here is fantastic as are the bartenders and servers.

We are staying here at the Hilton. After a Reds baseball game we stopped at the bar and had a couple of drinks. They were very good. We came back for dinner at the restaurant. We started with baked Gouda and it was tasty. I ordered scallops and hubby tried to order the baked cod, but they were out so he had pork roast. We both had mashed potatoes substituted for grits. Our meals had very nice presentations and were tasty. We both remarked they were a bit on the salty side. We then shared buckeye pie. It was very rich and very tasty! A good way to end the meal. The restaurant is very classy with beautiful ceiling paintings. It's a very historic place. Our waitress was the only one, but she did a nice job of checking in on us.

American Cuisine. The 1931 is located inside the Hilton Netherland Plaza Hotel. We dinned here for breakfast and just went with the buffet each time. Service was slow but friendly. You can request your eggs any style for no additional charge if you do not want the buffet scrambled.Food was good but they had a little trouble the first visit keeping the buffet stocked as it was so busy. You can just walk up but you might experience a wait during rush or peak times. Helpful hint - make an OpenTable reservations Breakfast has limited seating. Formerly known as Orchids at Palm Court. The space now consists of The 1931 restaurant for dinner, The Grille at 1931 for breakfast (the upper back part of the restaurant, and The Lounge at 1931 which is a treasure!Would recommend and is a great option when staying at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza.https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/cvgnphf-hilton-cincinnati-netherland-plaza/dining/

I came here for the brunch buffet. The management was horrible. I waited for an hour for a seat just to enter and realize they were using about a quarter of the available tables. Once seated, the food was pretty good. Staff was attentive. If you are in the area and see a wait for this, might just go ahead and skip this.

Very good restaurant. It's designed to be more casual than Orchids so it's not as fussy and it's also a little less expensive. We started with baked Brie and jam served with a variety of crackers as well as complementary bread - yummy delicious! My wife ordered diver scallops with beet grits, fennel and orange. I had a 6 ounce filet steak with mashed potatoes and broccolini. Everything was perfectly cooked although my steak had a little more salt than I prefer. It was still delicious. Cocktails, bourbon list and wines by the glass was just as good as before. The chef's old fashioned with frozen ice cube of simple syrup and bitters is still a remarkably excellent cocktail.Ambiance was perhaps the best attribute of this restaurant. Service was gracious with comfortable pacing. The crowd was a combination of well dressed and casual with many families coming from the Reds game on this summer evening. The setting of the Palm Court is always beautiful with great people watching. Tonight being a Saturday there was a jazz band which made an after dinner coffee that much more enjoyable.
