Everything about this place is amazing. The food is creative and delicious. They feature an egg roll of the week and it's always something thoughtful. On my visit, it was pot roast and you dipped in gravy! The entrees were heavenly. The building is so beautiful inside and out. Everything is well appointed. Service? Outstanding. The also went ABOVE and BEYOND to make our special occasion extra memorable. It's 1.5 hours from Indy. Just. Do. It.

We had a 5pm reservation, were a few minutes late, but first diners seated. Carrie was our informative server. We started out with Fireman's Shrimp as usual. They are SUPER. One of the dishes that has great presentation. Wifey ordered tasty Chicken Tenders and fries and liked them SO much. I sampled a couple bites. 1 tender is the size of 2 at lesser places and this platter came with 4. The fries are like shoestring fries. I ordered Fried Pork Schnitzel with mashed potatoes, greens and gravy. I told Logan I wouldn't order that again. He asked why. I told him there were too many other things on the menu I want to try. He got the joke. I actually had my platter clean when I was finished. We ended our meal with Chocolate Lava Cake which we shared and was hot and tasty. We look forward to our next visit to try something new.

Went to 1894 Lodge with some friends on Thursday. Decided to sit upstairs because there was a half price special on wine and appetizers on the 2nd floor only. Started with a bottle of Trefethen vineyards red wine, the egg roll special, goat cheese fritters and bang bang shrimp. They were all very good. We then had French onion soup which was great. The main courses were Lodge fried chicken, meatloaf, fish and chips and Luke's schnitzel. All were unique combinations but very good. The fish was a very large portion. We finished with bourbon bread pudding. Our server Audrey was very good and checked on us often.Sorry but the only picture I took before we dug in was the French onion soup.

Found myself with a half day off so I decided to make the 40 minute trip to New Washington because this place has been bookmarked by me for quite some time now.I made a reservation just in case and boy was I glad I did, people were waiting outside for the doors to open - but I kind of get it, this is a little oasis in what is otherwise a dead small town. The only other things on this street are a gas station and a hardware store. Leslie was our server and she was amazing, very prompt, professional and friendly. She recommended the smoked old fashioned which was delicious and came in a little box filled with smoke. Very clever! My entree was the meatloaf, which came with mashed potato and roasted vegetables. The menu said it was first come first serve and that it sells out fast and I can believe it. Very moist and flavorful!I also got to sample the egg roll of the day which was italian beef and those were so great. If they made those a permanent fixture on the menu I might have to drive up there once a week to get some! Also the goat cheese app? Next level, what a treat. Definitely get those if you are here. All in all a five star experience that was so unexpected and delightful. Highly recommend.

We visited 1894 on a Saturday night in January, we had a party of 8. The waitress was very pleasant, prompt, and took such great care of us. Amongst the table, we ordered the Philly cheesesteak wontons that came with a beer cheese dipping sauce - very hot, crisp, and tasty. We also had a wedge salad with blue cheese, it was super fresh, loaded with bacon and dressing. Excellent wedge. For entrees, two people had the fried chicken and said the chicken itself was fantastic, but the macaroni it was served with was just okay - not cheesy or creamy, kinda dried out. I personally had the meatloaf, which was served atop of mashed potatoes and topped with BBQ and crispy onions. I LOVED this dish!! Would definitely order again. Another person had the lobster ravioli special and said it was superb, and it was also a huge portion. Overall, we loved our experience here and will drive back out again. The only complaint is that the building is old and it was pretty cool and drafty. Dress warm if you visit in the dead of winter.

The first time going to 1894 Lodge for me, my spouse, son and daughter. The other guests in our party of 11 had been there before on multiple occasions. Very good experience. Our party included 2 small kids...1 and 5 years of age. We all shared apps of wings, Big Mac egg rolls and crab dip. 2 in our party ordered the Hot Brown. They reported as excellent. Three of our party ordered the Chicken Marsala. Reported as excellent flavor, with mashed potatoes, asparagus, broccoli and carrots (roasted vegetables). One person ordered the pork chop dinner also with roasted vegetables and a cherry sauce. I got a taste of the pork chop...I know what I'll be having next time!! Two of us ordered the 14oz ribeye. One with Brussels sprouts (as shown) and one with Mac and cheese (not shown). I had the ribeye with Brussels sprouts. My complaint is I thought it would be a thicker cut. So a medium steak was medium in a few places but medium-well to well done in several places. The steak was delicious even with that. Kaci was an awesome server. She was attentive and excellent!!I'll be back!!

Logan is an amazing owner and his food is even better. Usually come with a big group and we are always well taken care of. I got the salmon and my buddy got the pasta and we both loved it. All the appetizers were great especially the shrimp, overall a great experience. Logan also is better than Garry and Mitch at golf if this helps your decision to go here. Cheers

Actually closer to 5 stars.First visit to the lodge. Friends have eaten here several times and highly recommended it.First restaurant meal in quite a while that I truly enjoyed and did NOT feel fleeced while paying the check!Menu changes often, so if you had an item you loved previously, it may not be available on your next visit. On Thursdays they have $1 wings, minimum order of 8, and $2 Domestic beers. We started with 8 wings with Bourbon Sriracha glaze. Out of our entire meal, this was the only mediocre item. The wings were OK, but nothing really memorable. Now, if you've read other reviews of mine, I'm all about what you receive for what you pay. At $1 per wing, I didn't really have a problem with the wings. I just thought they'd be a little better. Now the main attraction. My wife had Luke's Schnitzel ($20) which came with mashed potatoes and braised greens. She loved the breaded pork cutlet which was covered with a creamy gravy. I had a taste and also loved it. She thought the mashed potatoes were also excellent. The braised greens tasted very good, but were a little too salty for our liking.I had the H.O.W., which is the Handheld Of the Week. It is a Brisket Sandwich ($18.94) topped with a fried green tomato, and a fried egg. Additionally, it's topped with fried onions and a bbq sauce. The sandwich comes with fries. I ordered the fries crispy, they came out perfect! The Brisket Sandwich was outstanding! The brisket was soft and tender. The fried egg was fried over medium. The sandwich was so tall I couldn't get my mouth over it. It was a mess to eat, but it was a GOOD mess! I wouldn't hesitate to order it again.I must confess, I did take advantage of the $2 domestic beer special. Wow, did I enjoy my meal. One last thing. They do not have Draft Beer. However, they have an extensive list of domestic and Craft Beer bottles and cans. My bottle(s) of Budweiser were served with an ice cold glass. Really hit the spot! Our server, Leslie S. did an excellent job.

Stopped over for a fabulous meal at Logan's 1894 Lodge. Lucky enough to have the roast duck dinner, and it was wonderful! They even prepared some fried okra that we picked one hour before from the family garden.Looking forward to getting back to the Lodge this spring during a baseball weekend at Bellarmine.
