It's a very busy place and I see why. Good food, prompt service and fair prices. The 5 star spice level is pretty mild, but it's KY, I do love the sauce bar so you can make it as hot as you want. Will definitely continue to eat here.

We stopped in while traveling to Lake Taylorsville for camping. Service was quick and prompt. The food was priced well and pretty tasty. Everything is served in plastic to-go containers (maybe that is more economical than washing dishes during the lunch rush). There were many local patrons - we chatted with a few over lunch. Nice to know it's a mainstay for people in the community. The server or owner seemed to know the clientele and so the atmosphere was very welcoming. I love Thai food - no complaints from me!

I used to be a regular here until I moved out of Kentucky more than 10 years ago. The place was always clean, and the guy who runs it always has something funny to say. I was driving by on the interstate and decided to stop for a meal. I basically asked them to pick something for me. They chose the mushroom soup and a curry dish for me. I also told them to go ahead and pick how hot it should be. It ended up being one of the best Thai meals I'd had in a while, and I probably eat Thai food at least monthly. I don't remember the exact names of the dishes but I did remember to take photos before devouring them. (Edit: My photos include the bill with the names of the dishes! Tom Yum Goong soup and Red Curry with Chicken.)The restaurant was still very clean and orderly as I remembered, and the proprietor came and talked to me for a few minutes while I was there. I noticed that their to-go orders really started picking up about a half an hour before they closed. I know I'll go back the next time I'm in town.

We visited Thai Smile for lunch upon the recommendation of a Thai employee at another shop in Frankfort. The restaurant was hidden from street view in a strip mall that had a lot of empty shops. Yet, there were many patrons going into Thai Smile for lunch or to pick up takeout orders. The restaurant had a take-out feel, even for sit-down diners. There was a relatively small dining area with small tables -- and a large rectangular table along the entrance way with iced tea canisters, napkins, and cutlery. We were greeted quickly, and offered a table. Our server, a bundle of energy, took our drink order quickly. I ordered a Thai Iced Tea ($3.95). We ordered two entrees -- my husband's go-to in Thai restaurants, Pad Thai with Chicken ($10) and Panang Curry with Chicken ($10). Seeing that the latter would be served only with peas and carrots, I also ordered a side dish of snow peas ($2). The waiter up-sold us with an order of the "best eggroll in Frankfort." ($2.50). You can choose the hotness level that you prefer, for your entrees, from 1- to 4-star. We ordered 2-star for both dishes. Our total bill came to $30.16, with tax but before tip. Interestingly, all appetizers on the menu are $2.50 and all entrees are $10.00. The food was delivered quickly and hot. All were served in plastic containers with lids that could also serve as take out containers. Overall, the food tasted good but was not exceptional. Our main comment is that the dishes lacked add-ins (especially vegetables). The Pad Thai was primarily noodles, with some chicken and a small number of fried tofu pieces and some peanut garnish. We don't recall having seen any bean sprouts or egg, as advertised. The soupy Panang curry in coconut milk was served with peas and carrots, as advertised, plus the add-on of snow peas that I had ordered extra. This was served with a bowl of white rice. The egg roll order was a single egg roll that was mainly filled with cabbage. (I can't say whether this is the best eggroll in Frankfort but it certainly wasn't the best that we've had). With respect to spiciness, 2-star has slightly more chili peppers than our preferences (even for my Indian-origin husband) but it wasn't too hot that we couldn't eat it. We need to remind ourselves that one-star is probably sufficient for future orders. We can always add more chilis but can't take them away. This restaurant is a good value. We were only able to finish about half of our food while in the restaurant so we had take-out meals to enjoy later. (We added more vegetables!) Also, our server was highly efficient. We note his friendly banter with the large group next to us. We would return to this restaurant if we were to return to Frankfort. Quantities.

Fast friendly service. They run a well-oiled machine there during lunch to take full advantage of the limited seating space.Overall, my food was good. Not noteworthy Thai but enjoyable and I recommend others give them a try. If in the area, I would return.

Whenever you are hungry for authentic Thai food, Thai Smile is the only place to go! There are two locations including Richmond and Frankfort. This Thai is so good that my boss would drive from Louisville to Frankfort just to be able to have good Thai food. There simply is no comparison anywhere else!I continually switch between their Chicken Fried Rice, Three Flavor Chicken, or the Dry Egg Noodle Bowl. It's just difficult to decide between three delicious meals. The Chicken Fried Rice is a generous serving of fried rice with egg and plenty of chicken (or your favorite meat). For something different, try the Pineapple Fried Rice (with your favorite meat). The Three Flavor Chicken is a huge serving of fried chicken with snow peas, broccoli, carrot, tomatoes and pineapple in three-flavored sauce (includes steamed or fried rice). Personally, I order mine with no tomato, but others enjoy it being included. My other favorite is the Dry Egg Noodle Bowl which is filled with steamed egg noodles tossed with bean sprouts and sweet soy sauced topped with fried chicken breast and then garnished cilantro and ground peanuts. There is always a generous amount of the sweet soy sauce, so I mix some of my wife's leftover rice in the bowl and have enough for 2 meals. Of course, there are plenty of other items to select from their vast menu. They have a great selection of soups. My favorite is either the Siamese Beef Soup (Sliced beef in a spicy robust broth) or the Soupy Noodle (Rice noodle, chicken and bean sprouts in chicken broth). Of course, these meals are never complete without ordering an egg roll, or the crispy egg roll. And everyone knows to order their Crab Rangoon for a tasty dessert!

Thai Smile is our go-to when in Frankfort. The food is always good. Our son likes the frozen chicken fried rice we can get for home as well.
