Cool little spot, a young fellow and lady were running the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon when I visited. We were the only patrons. Instantly greeted and we chose our seats. The gave us the menu explained there is no option for water only bottled beverages or in house made drinks. They brought over a small ornate bowl of bean dip and some fresh tortilla chips. We ordered two entrees to share. The "machete "quesadilla which seemed to be a signature dish and a carnitas burrito. Two bottles of sauce arrived at the table spicy green guacamole sauce and a red standard sauce .. no typical Americanized style salsa available. For drinks I chose the passion fruit soft drink, wife got the in house rice water both were tasty. The carnitas burrito was good the pork was cooked well, beans, rice and cheese inside, verde sauce covered the flour tortilla it was quite mushy.. but overall it's a decent dish. The chicken machete was a unique experience with a "homemade" corn tortilla that had a thick layer of masa the texture not unlike a tamale. The chicken was chopped up into little chunks and cooked with cheese and lots of red onions and cilantro. Truth is it was a bit of a mess and a bear to eat, it was huge, Tasted okay. In the end Taquero Mucho was a unique experience with the food to match. Our two items with a drink each plus tip brought the bill to around fifty dollars. Definitely a bit pricey. oh and there's a dollar fiftyish charge for credit cards . All in all pretty cool place to try but probably won't be a regular haunt for us.

If you're an OG from Okolona or Highview, then you know this to be the same location of Villa Romano from way back. This is is a small and nice Mexican restaurant with a great menu variety. The menu is in Spanish but understandable with basic information. We had great and friendly service. Like in many countries, they don't serve tap water. They do serve complimentary warm chips and a tasty bean dip. We ordered the guacamole and it was very fresh and chunky. It was gone before I could snap a photo. My husband got the huarache - big enough to share. My poblano relleno was fantastic. It came with rice and beans and the batter was eggy and good. It also was served with HANDMADE tortillas. Such an unexpected treat! There is a very spicy green salsa and a medium smoky red salsa that they also bring to the table. I can't wait to go back and try something else.

Taquero Mucho is a Mexican eatery located in a small shopping center just off outer loop right near the okolona/highview borderline of Louisville Kentucky. Very small and tiny space but they do have some limited indoor seating here. I stopped in here for lunch with my 14 year old and 2 year old after grabbing the oldest from her school. We wanted Mexican and was heading to our usual spot across the street from this place when we noticed a new place and decided to give it a shot. Our service here was very good. Our waitress was very nice and Accommodating and kept our glasses full. Like most Mexican establishments you do receive complementary chips and salsa. However instead of a salsa you get a bean dip type dish here. The establishment did have bottled salsa as well but the main dish/bowl was a bean dip. The chips and bean dip were actually really good. I was mildly skeptical as I'm a big salsa guy but it was a cool and unique take on a normal Mexican eatery staple. For our entrees I personally went with the Chicken burrito covered with queso. My oldest went with a couple steak tacos and the two year old got a kids cheese sticks. My burrito was solid. Pretty standard tasting burrito. The queso wasn't the greatest. Nice and thick but kinda had a plain Jane flavor to it. My oldest enjoyed her steak tacos and said they were good. The kids cheese sticks was actually quite a bit of substance and the two year old happily devoured them. So not complaints from her. Overall cool little eatery. I'm always down to try and explore New Mexican restaurant. So it is nice to see one pop up on the nearby area. The bean dip and chips is a unique touch and makes them stand out and memorable. Food is solid to average from our experience. Worth checking out if you are in the area and enjoy Mexican food.

What a hidden gem. We love visiting authentic Mexican joints and we stopped by this place on a whim. The staff were super friendly and quick. The portions were great. I was excited to see that they had items that I can't find any where else such as Tlayuda which is similar in my opinion to a Navajo Taco which I cannot find anywhere in Kentucky until this place. I love that instead of giving you complimentary chips and salsa, they give you chips and bean dip. The chips were warm and fresh, as was the black bean dip. We ordered the chorizo queso which was perfection. My husband ordered the Tinos Torta and my God this was massive. It was literally a loaf of bread with every meat under the sun on it (see pictures). He was in heaven. I ordered the Quesabirria and I will have to say that the consome was the second best that I've had. First being this little Taco joint in Williams, Arizona. We both had leftovers for dinner which did not disappoint. I'm actually nervous to brag about how great this place is because I want to keep it to myself. But alas, they deserve the business. We will be back.

We started with queso chorizo and guacamole culichi, and these were excellent! I got chile relleno and my wife had carnitas. That pillowy corn tortillas, roasted jalapeño salsa, and spicy red salsa were absolutely essential accompaniments and elevated our entrees to a level we have trouble finding so far north. We will be back to try dessert and everything else on the menu.

Delicious street tacos. Come on Tuesday, dine-in for $1.99 tacos. This applies to all meats (even lengua)! Honestly, this was a steal! We got 9 tacos for $18 (before taxes and tip, of course). Much better than the taco trucks and about the same quality as the best of them. Although, I will say the suadero was not as crispy as we've had at another place. I wish the chiles toreados was spicier -- but, this seems to be hit or miss anywhere. So, not a big deal. Also, the service here is wonderful!! Looking forward to coming back for my taco cravings.

Absolutely fabulous and fresh Mexican fare. Better than we have had in quite some time and we consider ourselves foodies. The manager even took his time to explain every dish and his personal recommendations. My girlfriend had the carnitas Machete and I had the most amazing beef tongue dish (lengua huarache). 10 out of 10 for both. The black bean empanadas and fresh guacamole were on point as well!!Please support this small business and give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
