This is a great hidden secret! The food is absolutely delicious. I ordered a shrimp plate, which comes with onions, tomatoes, avocado and fried beans. I must note that the onions are perfectly caramelized. Before our meal they brought out hot, freshly made tortillas and a medium spicy salsa.The fresh cilantro is amazing!The staff and servers are so friendly, anticipating your every need. The atmosphere is family friendly. It can get loud with football games playing..... although the same goes with a soccer game on... the staff got quite excited.And it's so close if you're going on to the threatre.

Brought my wife here on our second date - not saying my awesome taste in food is why she married me, but it could be on the list. Kinda feel this is one of the hidden gems of Mexican food in Cincinnati. Really unassuming place downtown, and hasn't changed much over the years (been coming here for almost 8 years now!). Nothing tremendous in terms of décor or ambiance, but WOW when it comes to the food, buckle up. Never had a bad meal here, and they have excellent portion sizes for everything. Service and staff have always been great in the dozens of times I have been here, and every time I go I seem to discover something new I haven't tried before. Plus they have those awesome "layered" tortilla chips. The. Best.Highly recommend Taqueria Mercado.

My friends and I visited the cute restaurant, Taqueria Mercado before attending a play at the Aronoff. We enjoyed both the lime and mango margaritas, which were excellent. Our server,Ramone, provided outstanding service. Before our main course, we ordered nachos with cheese and salsa, and Ramone kindly offered us samples of both the hot and the green salad. We then shared a generous portion of fajitas with chicken and steak, which was more than enough for us. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, we had ample time to walk to the Aronoff and take our seat before the performance.

I can't express how much I've been searching for another place with these type of chips but can't be found. Their salsa has spice which is divine. We met our son and his girlfriend here for dinner one weeknight and were impressed. The restaurant is wide open and as a result it's a little noisy. But the food makes up for any issues your ears may have. My Dos XX Ambar was ice cold and served in a chilled/frosted class, making it the perfect drink for a nearly 100° day. My wife ordered quesadilla and man was it huge, and nicely filled, not just a giant tortilla. I'm looking at you Mazunte. My chimichanga was cooked perfectly and the rice and beans were exceptional. The service was a little slow, and kind of confused. But eventually everything worked out.Good food, okay value, meh on the service. We'll try again.

I'm in love with their vegetarian burrito! I love it so much I've been back twice. Couldn't be happier with the quality and quantity of the serving. It's fresh and loaded with refried beans, rice, crunchy lettuce and cilantro. I leave off the cheese and sour cream because of my dietary restrictions. I definitely plan to eat here weekly as it's just a few steps from my building. Not only the food is amazing but the service is too. I highly recommend it! Hope to see you there.

If you're looking for a great, authentic Mexican restaurant in Cincinnati, look no further. Taqueria Mercado is great for all of your classic favorites!My friend and I got there on Friday night to find the place packed! We were seated right away though, and were able to place our order for margaritas, chips and salsa within minutes of sitting down. The salsa was great, as I personally like a chunkier salsa, and that's what this one was!I ordered the Pechuga Mercado for my main course which was also fantastic. The plate was HUGE and it came with so much food. Definitely enough that you can take home leftovers! The servers also brought out 10 tortillas in total for my friend and I, so we were able to make mini tacos with all the food we had. It was a nice addition that we didn't know was included!The service was also excellent, as our server was really attentive and kind. My friend is a big fan of hot sauce, and they unfortunately did not have her favorite. However, our server brought out three different kinds for her to pick and choose from, to find something that was a close second. She really appreciated that gesture! Overall, I would highly recommend stopping in. I'm so glad I went and checked this place out! Will definitely go back very soon.

Good little lunch spot after my jury duty! Within walking distance to 3CDC Kroger parking structure. I was able to sit at the bar and watch some tennis and read. Busy during lunch but food came out very fast and hot! I got two quesadillas lunch special which comes with rice and beans (asked for sour cream on the side) and it was exactly what I wanted. Service was great and seems to be nice spot for lunch with your co-workers. They even had sitting outside but it was too hot IMO. I added a bud light for drink and it was under $20 with tip!
