Let's be clear, if all you know is Tex-Mex, this taqueria may disappoint. You won't find nachos, burritos, fajitas here. This is strictly Mexican food. And darn good at that. They start you with these funky fried crisps. No salsa or pico-but on the bright side you don't fill up with chips. Good thing, because the portions are ginormous! It's rare I can't finish a meal, but my shredded beef with mole was more than enough for a takeout box. I ordered the platter, so my meal came with rice and refried beans. We had the leftovers for lunch the following day. My wife ordered two alacart items. Shrimp cerviche and a chicken taco. Both well prepared. And as a side bonus, the tortillas were outstanding. I'm not a fan of corn tortillas, but these home made gems had flavor and didn't fall apart like packaged ones. Same with the crispy corn shells for the tostada. Great crunch and real flavor. Beer was served cold along with a frosted mug and a slice of lime. Everything is made to order. One fella was the chief, cook & bottle washer. And waiter. He speaks English when he sees you struggling with the menu. He made us feel very welcome. This is a down to earth diner that hasn't seen any updating since day one, but the food is excellent, the restrooms are clean and the service was perfectomundo.

Wow. Love this place. The real deal. Unassuming place, high quality, big flavors, no frills. My kind of joint.

Wow, all the 5 star reviews I thought this would be a can't miss experience. Unfortunately for us the food wasn't even close to 5 stars. Was it terrible, no? Was it bad, no? But it wasn't even close to great. For all the people that claim to know "real" Mexican food due to places they've lived or traveled to, I spent the last 15 years of my work life traveling around Mexico for business. So using one of the latest buzz words, I think I have the bona fides when it comes to authentic Mexican food.First, the employees were great and friendly. Very accommodating. Next the Michelada's were excellent, I had two.Now the food. My wife had a beef and mole quesadilla and a steak and chorizo quesadilla. I had the same meat combinations only as tacos. Additionally we had an order of refried beans. We both agreed the mole had next to no flavor at all. If you know AUTHENTIC mole, it is extremely flavorful and leaves a sweet slow burn in the back of your throat. Authentic mole is made of many ingredients and can take numerous hours to make. This mole had none of that. We occasionally make our own mole and believe me it is very laborious. The chorizo was also pretty bland. The beef was dry and bland. The meats seemed to have been precooked and warmed over which made them chewy. The order of refried beans was very generous and had a great taste and consistency l

OMG, this place is fantastic! I was lucky it wasn't busy when I arrived. I was welcomed in in a family style way. This made it more authentic. I was able to explore the menu but I knew I had walked in for a ceviche. Glad waitress clarified the typo on large shrimp ceviche's price, which immediately translated to honesty.Thei give you a complimentary savory broth with hints of seafood flavor and potatoes which is a welcoming opening. The flavor was excellent the tostadas are like home made non commercial, loved them. Their give you fresh lime or already squeezed natural lime juice. I had a campechano (mixed) taco and a pastor taco. Which they have for .99 on Tuesdays so I will be a regular on Tuesdays too. There is parking on the front and on one of the sides of the place. The team was quick with food, attentive to all needs and very professional and friendly. And the price value is amazing. There are many items I still have to try but it is in my top 3 list for Mexican food in Kentuckiana!

5 stars...x 100, I literally said "This is so good" with each bite of ceveche. It is so good!!!! I want to eat here every week and enjoy this good authentic food and the ceveche. So very good. Service is quick and attentive.Food is best in the area served up in the unassuming little restaurant that is clean. They have a little taco topping bar, with white beans, salsa, limes and more. LOVED IT- try it, your taste buds will thank me and them. Note- they do charge 99 cents for cheese for the tacos.

Was is the area and found this place on Yelp. So glad I did! Based on the recommendations, I got the shrimp ceviche for lunch. Served with tostadas and topped with avocado slices, the flavor was excellent and the serving size was huge. Great find!

Great food (and I'm from California!). This business would thrive in the Bay Area. It's soooo good. I strongly recommend the Carne en su Jugo. And the tacos and flautas are amazing. The guac is freshly made and absolutely on point. On another trip I enjoyed a MEGA michelada. YUMMY YUMMO. You will not be disappointed.

I like Mexican food, a lot. I spend a lot of time in Southern Arizona for work, and I've tried some of the best in that part of the country. I was surprised to find this quality of food in Southern Indiana. This is certainly among the best, most authentic, Mexican restaurants in the area. The outside/strip mall was a little off-putting, but inside it's nice clean and cozy. The food is, of course, awesome, I particularly love the Barbacoa tacos and the beef soup is amazing. Well worth a few trips to explore a great menu.

I can't say enough good about this place. It is authentic Mexican not Tex-mex so if you are looking for Tex-Mex you'll be disappointed. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, great service and perhaps maybe even a great margarita you have found the place. Food was all outstanding, service was great and we will be returning regularly.
