Taqueria 3 Amigos

Small but quality taqueria away from home. Solid 3.8.This spot was a surprise stop, as I thought it was another place with another type of food, but it was a diamond in the rough and it totally worked out.I was in a mood for birria tacos and it was delicious. The birria was seasoned well, had the right balance of cheese and cilantro fried inside, and didn't need much dunking, It was delicious.My boss had a burrito loco, which was huge. I thought it'd be too much , but he munched it down like a champ.They have cervezas gringas and mexicanas. They have limited aguas frescas and Jarritos soda. The owner checked on us regularly, and made sure we were taken care of. There was a big screen playing Vicente Fernandez live concerts and ranchers style tunes going on in the background to set the mood.Taco Tuesday special is $2.99 for any taco.Parking lot available. Glad they have this close to the base proper. It's kinda divey, and even though it wasn't the place we were looking for, it worked out really well.I enjoyed the experience, and it was a good place to catch up with friends.

We arrived on a Friday evening around 700pm. Not sure if it's typical to be quiet or we beat the dinner rush but there was only one other table when we arrived. Shortly after a couple of take outs came in. Before we left a group a 6 arrived.Overall, we had a pleasant experience. I intend to visit again for an alternative experience to my usual. They do have a bit of a tough competition to my usual especially since my favorite item is not on their menu here.I had asked for a small side of guacamole but ended up being served and charged the full sized side, which is 50% more in price. Next time, I'll probably point to the menu to avoid being charged so much more. They do a military discount, but it seemed like it was only about a $1 or the person at the register may struggle with math. Either way we'll likely be back again.

My second time here in less than a month and I have had a fantastic dining experience both times. The food was delicious, with a wide variety of dishes. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend trying their tacos.
