T & D Island Spices

Visiting my husband at work in Clarksville, TN, been craving oxtails for some time now, so imagine the excitement when I stumbled upon this place. I was excited to taste the food and support a small business. Unfortunately, the food was subpar. Some of the oxtails were cooked just right - falling off the bones, whereas others were tough. And if they weren't tough, it was fatty. cabbage was under seasoned, plantains were just meh. Rice was the best dish ordered.Food did stay warm through delivery time. Delivery time using DoorDash was prompt and entire order was correct.

4.6 stars rounds off to 5 stars. Quantity- 5 STARS . They were very generous! Lots of meat and sauce!Service was strange yet friendly. I didn't know who was taking my order at first. The lady who did was nice. 4 stars4.5 Stars - Food: Just a tad too savory. The oxtail was still delicious. I actually liked the plantains. I usually hate plantains. When you eat it with the oxtail and rice, the flavors of each item balanced each other out. I just needed a hint of more spice & heat. The cabbage was bland ehhhh.... But the quantity overrules the taste factors. Rice and beans were good. I still don't like beans.I will definitely come back to try the mutton. :)

The employees are the friendliest and the most accommodating. Fried chicken is a new item on the menu and is not served everyday but these amazing ladies made it for me. The food was delicious. Don't get me started on the plantains.....yummy!

I love it here! Everyone in the family loves the oxtails, brown chicken, curry goat, and jerk chicken. I get to collect all of the cabbage and plantains for my rice (with gravy if you're nicesty). They're always friendly with a short wait, even if you do not order ahead Try the drinks too

So I've been stuck is BFE, Illinois since October recovering from breaking several bones in my foot and the ONE thing I miss about not being home is the various cultures and cuisines I've come to love, Jamaican being #1. I was in the Clarksville/Hopkinsville area and the craving hit me hard, so I relied on my Yelpers to help me find a good spot! I was a little worried because the last review was 9months ago, so let me help you by telling you this spot is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. We would have dined-in, but Covid, so my boyfriend and I both ordered the Large Jerk Chicken. I ordered my hot sauce on the side and he wanted his on top of the chicken. His mistake because hot is extremely hot. I laughed at his tears and grasps for water. I probably shouldn't have, but it's too late for that now. There was beyond enough chicken on one plate for the two of us, in addition to rice and peas, cabbage, but not plantain because I don't share those. With oxtail gravy dumped on the rice, I couldn't stop eating! I can't wait to get back to the area and try the oxtails next! Stop in--early if you want oxtails, and I promise you won't be disappointed!

I am a big fan of Mr. Bills reviews for the local places here on Yelp so when I saw how much he enjoyed T&D, I told hubby we needed to try it. Hubby got the jerk chicken, I selected the Brown stew chicken. The servings are very big. We only got the medium size but both of us had leftovers for the next day - and we can eat. I'm embarrassed to admit I stole his plantains that came with his order. I loved LOVED them. I would def. encourage y'all to add a small order of them because they were so delicious. His jerk chicken was really flavorful. Sides - that cabbage is so yummy - were overflowing. I didn't really care for my meal or the drinks. I think it was mostly my fault however, because I am not familiar with the dish and there are certain spices I am not a fan of. I believe there were a couple of those in the brown stew. Same with the drinks. Hubby enjoyed it tho. All in all, a filling and flavorful meal. I dreamed about the plantains late

First time ordering here and it certainly will not be the last. The Trenton Road location is right there on my way home, so you can bet I'll be stoppin' by for some more. We decided to give this spot a shot during the COVID-19 Pandemic and it was a delivery. The food was delivered by GrubHub pretty quickly too, so thanks for using that service!We ordered the Jerk Chicken and the Curry Chicken...we also asked for some mild beef patties, but they were out. This was good food, I don't really know how else to describe it. We've had food in Jamaica, in the mountains, cooked at some lady's house and served at a roadside rest-stop...and this was just like that. Rustic, delicious, super flavorful. I'm a fan of the heat and the Jerk Chicken gave me all that I can handle and then some. Super tasty, I wish I could say more. Simply good food does not need a huge elaborate write up. If you're lookin' for something new to try, give 'em a shot!!

Love the lunch special!!!!! Very yummy, the sweet jerky is amazing I have also gotten the large portion, comes with lots of rice and chicken - so that's a + ! Service is fast and cooked right outside on the grill 9/10!

I love the food, spices, and the owner is so polite and knows exactly what she's doing with the food. My favorite is the Jerk chicken with spicy sauce. The rice and beans are amazing. The restaurant is always so clean on State Line Rd. The aromas will definitely give you an Island feel that's so amazing!!! They do not disappoint.

Pricey but still quite good. Great for lunch or dinner. But it took a little while longer than I liked for the food to be made. Must be a price to pay for good food
