This Latin supermarket packs a lot into its space. I did not like this location as much as the other one, which is closer to UK and much easier to get into. This one is in a weird and horrendously designed strip mall that I had trouble finding the right turnoff for. Otherwise, they're very similar. This one had an excellent fruit and vegetable selection, with the odd note that their avocado selection was not great; only one type and I've seen better quality. I suspect pandemic-related shortages might be at play. Conversely, their selection of peppers and cactus was excellent, and they have a variety of fruits that I do not recognize. It's also an excellent place to buy beans, fresh, canned, or dried. There are tons of niche ingredients and spices. It's not the best such market I've ever been to, but it's definitely good for Lexington, and worth looking at as an alternative to big box regular grocery stores.

I think this place deserves better reviews than it has. I found a 35% off deal on GrubHub so my husband and I ordered a few tacos, a torta, a sope and a gordita to share. We came in and ate at the restaurant (yes, they have a separate seating area from the rest of the grocery store.)My favorite was probably the sope. I didnt care for the pork skin with red sauce gordita, it was very plain, but the rest of the food was tasty and very reasonably priced (especially with the 35% deal, our dinner was a total of $12.)

The BEST freaking sopes in town. I'm not from Lexington originally, I'm from LA and I miss really good Mexican food. This place brings me back home. If you don't speak any Spanish, ordering may be tricky... but they have pictures of everything so you can just point. Service and pricing is awesome and food comes out great every time. Sit down or carry out. I come here every couple weeks for the sopes alone.

I purchased plenty of pina soda and Mexican coke (which my daughters love), several cans of retried beans, enchilada sauce and my favorite salsa El Pato, I also picked up a ton of produce, the avocados were better than any regular store, the jalapeños, serranos and habaneros were perfection! I was hoping they had marinated carne asada, but they didn't this time. Will be returning!

Love the steak burrito and I always have to get at least 2 tounge tacos. They are a must have and always tender with great flavor. Plus the grocery store is very clean with a excellent butcher shop with good meat prices.

Totally grossed out. I ordered the soup. Besides the fact that this soup was flavorless and bland, the shrimp was not deveined. That's where the waste is located. I thought I would vomit when I saw it. The shrimp was also unpeeled and had the legs on it. That may be traditional (I don't know) but it was weird to me. I've had this soup at Jalapeños (where it is delicious) and I thought this place would have comparable if not better/more authentic. If this is authentic, I'll pass. It was disgusting. I ate all of three bites and told the server how bad it was. I was given my check with no offer to replace the dish or discount.

Lexington, KY Southland Dr location: Love the produce department and have ordered from the restaurant. I do wish the menu had explanations in English for non-Spanish speaking persons. Would order more frequently if they would include the English translation of what a menu listing is and what it contains. Did see a post that described a meal with shrimp with legs on and was not deveined-those are things I would want to know before ordering!!!!!!!!!!!Don't limit your business to Spanish speaking customers only.

The biggest Mexican grocery store I've been to in Lexington. Don't miss it, it's hiding behind the Burger King, almost across the street from Walmart.I'm a white female, but I love to cook Mexican food. I have seen fresh masa, can always get my manzano peppers, have to go there instead of Walmart for the quality of the tomatillos and peppers.Of course there is no identification in the meat department at all. No cuts, no prices. I guess one day I'll ask and then I'll find out if I've been missing a good bargain, since I can at least identify the cuts of meats by look.Sorry I'm not more of an expert, but if you want Mexican groceries in Lexington you shouldn't be disappointed compared to other stores around here.

A large and well outfitted Mexican Grocery with a small cafe inside.they have a range of dry goods as well as a produce section and manned butcher section. Their meat selection includes cooked items (carnitas and roasted chickens, along with freshly made Chicharrón), seasoned meats to take home and cook (pork al pastor and others) as well as a range of beef, pork, and poultry items. The cafe sells tacos, burritos, and tortas with your pick of meat. I had tacos al pastor along with traditional onions and cilantro; hot sauce on the side (my usual, to see if it is 'real'.). While it did not come off the rotisserie, they did a good job on the flat top getting a bit of crisp on it, and the hot sauce was totally legit. I used this to bring in lunch to my team, and my gang loved it, especially the spicy al pastor.Downside to the store and cafe is they don't do tamales themselves, but upside is the bakery with whom they share a parking lot DOES sell them. Next trip .....I give it five stars as it is a real Mexican grocery, reminding me of the ones I frequented before moving here to Kentucky. Now, if I can find a place that does real Cuban bread...
