I have visited this place over the last 25 years. The food is always excellent. The birdseed pasta is one of my favorites. I also enjoyed the chicken salad on top of the pita chips. The quaint little restaurant is very comfortable. The fresh herbs and homemade food is something that keeps you coming back. I did get a piece of hummingbird cake to take home. I used to get this on the regular. It was over 15 years ago... It definitely did not taste the same. And for the nine dollars it was a small piece. This is worth the drive! The gift shop, plant shop, greenhouse, restaurant and winery are situated on a small farm with beautiful grounds. You could walk around and observe flowers for several hours. There is so much to see! Plants are absolutely everywhere. It's breathtaking!

This is a great place for a girls afternoon! It's almost an hour away from Louisville so I only get out there once in a while but its worth it.I always get the salad sampler with which you can choose 4 different salads (or their soup). This all comes with their seasoned pita chips. I love, love, love their pasta salad.. seriously one of the best I've had! There is also a winery, an antique store, greenhouses, and even a couple goats and donkeys! The only thing I wish they did was upkeep the garden in front of the house. It could be so, so cute but it seems like it gets a little overlooked and neglected.

Met friends for lunch share with a group. I was pleasantly surprised when we pulled up, as it sits in the middle of nowhere. The grounds are lovely, well kept and the shops were cute and restaurant were delicious! They were very busy but the staff was friendly. The service was friendly and our waitress was very accommodating. Their deserts and blueberry tea were delicious! Lovely afternoon!!

Wonderful place! It's a nursery, restaurant and winery all in one plus some terrific scenery.About and hour and half from Indianapolis so an easy drive for a day trip. The twigs and sprigs restaurant was delightful. Good outside seating. Fast service and delicious food. The lemon verbena lemonade was best lemonade we've had in years. Blackberry cobbler special was fantastic. Pulled pork is smoked on-site.Lots of herbs you can't find elsewhere in the nursery. The blackberry wine is worth the trip alone.

Great lunch destination. Antiques, winery and restaurant in southern Indiana's Jennings County. The restaurant staff was attentive and very friendly. Wait time was reasonable. Dined on Reuben with a pasta salad that were delicious. The fresh blackberry cobbler is to die for! Homemade chicken salad on homemade croissants also over the top. Highly recommend!

Really an awesome stop in southern Indiana. Absolutely beautiful plant collection with perennials, herbs and annuals. The summer kitchen has an awesome menu with great salad choices... oh, and the bread pudding with bourbon sauce... don't pass it up. Our server Kim was great! Make it a stop if you are anywhere close. The wine isn't too bad either...

Although Yelp lists this as a winery, it is really a 7th generation family farm that has a tea house with food, a greenhouse, an antique shop, an event center....AND a winery! When I visited, there was live music playing in the barn as a pair of high school graduates were celebrating that afternoon. I had to park on the grass just to find a spot to check into the winery. The rustic little shop has a small tasting room where you get a great deal: the first 4 tastes are free, and all the subsequent ones you may want are $.50 each. They didn't have the largest selection in state, but they did have a nice sampling of the major varieties of wine as well as plenty of sweet fruity wines. I tried the Cabernet, the Merlot, the Chardonnay, and the Riesling, which I liked enough to pick up a bottle to go. Friendly service and very attentive. The counter is small so I think they know to keep folks with wine in their glass to keep from having a long wait to try anything. Well done even though it was busy! While on the grounds, you can buy chilled wines and can either enjoy them in the dining area inside the same shop or carry them out to the shaded patio (I believe there were folks sipping out there!) It's just out the front door, so it's really convenient. While at the farm, if you have time, take a walk through the quilt gardens that are to the south. The antique shop was closed during my visit, so I don't know if they had any treasures or not. And since I had just eaten elsewhere, I didn't stop in the tea house to check it out. Still, if you've made the trek to Commiskey to the farm, you might as well check the features out!Note: There is very little signage telling you where to turn off SR 3, so have your GPS handy and keep your eyes open or you may miss it!Review #2630
