Stockwell Inn

If you want freshly cooked food in a laid back atmosphere, this is your place. It has the vibe of a dive bar, but kids are welcome. It is one of my kids favorite places to come. They know what we like to drink, and the service is fast. One of our favorites.

The bartender/waitress, Melanie, is the best there. Robin is great too and makes super good deserts for them.

Great burgers and cheap drinks, but service is very poor on Friday nights due to understaffing. Waitresses aren't friendly but they are definitely overworked. We would have stayed to watch game if our waitress ever returned to check on drinks. Had to go to counter to get check.

What a gem! I don't know why I don't go there more often. Today I had the Stromboli. Hands down, this is the best Strom ever, and I've had them just about everywhere. I had the half and it was more than I should've eaten but I couldn't quit.

This little neighborhood bar serves some surprisingly good food, much of which is made fresh every day. We usually start off with an order of the 'potato wedges' (which are crispy wedge fries that have a really good seasoning) or an order of the seasoned homemade chips with spicy cheese. The menu is fairly large and there are several homemade soups served on a regular basis, including potato (very good!), bean, and chili. Our regular group that meets at Stockwell's has yet to find a sandwich on the menu we don't like, and the prices are fairly inexpensive. They have plate lunches every day, and from what I hear, their fried chicken lunch is very good. The are closed on Sundays and do not accept credit cards, however, there is an atm on the property.

Looking for something different, my friend and I chose to try Stockwell Inn. I wasn't expecting anything fancy and it isn't. After choosing a table a few minutes passed and the server took our drink orders. She didn't ask, but I wanted an appetizer. We ordered mushrooms. They came after a reasonable time and were great. Placed our food order, a burger and Strom, and it was downhill from there. The server was not attentive at all. I finished my soft drink but there was no offer of a refill. When I stopped her on her many trips by us without checking on us, her attitude was atrocious. I wasn't expecting 5 star service but I think anyone deserves to be acknowledged. After waiting for what seemed forever, the food was not hot at all. My mistake was accepting it and eating it anyway. Given the chance to go back in time I would have refused it and gone elsewhere. I will certainly not return.

Visited for a Black Friday lunch, back in town and wanted to try an old Eville favorite. Food and service didn't disappoint, good burgers along with Breaded Tenderloin. The place hasn't changed since last trip a few years ago, good atmosphere.

Best tenderloin I've had in Evansville. Battered and not breaded. Will definitely come back to check out the plate lunches
