Food was tasty and fairly representative of Germany. Poor service, never offered my drink refill, even after hand up in air numerous times

The steak salad made me sick so I assume they use MSG. The five oz steak on it was burned!Service was slow and unknowledgeful and forgetfull. Ask for appetizers ahead of time or it will come out with the meal. Not going back soon except for brunch.

Yum!! The chicken Spaetzle was comforting and very filling. I could only eat half of it. The pretzel was yummy and the hungover fries were gluttonous.

Wow.just wow!! Down in the basement (Keller is basement in German, lies a hidden gem German bar that you will absolutely love! Typical German restaurant, but man was the beer and food delish! That waitress though, Rita...watch out for her, she starts throwing them "hey sugar", hey honey" and "I know you want something other than water to drinking, baby, what is it that you want?" Maybe she saw the beer glint in my eyes, or the fact that she knows how to talk to men..either way, momma had the knack! I got the wurst platter and the maddog (daughter) got the steak, which was massive, but she downed it as well as some of my wurst. I also got the 2L boot of weinstrasse Hefeweizen, which i downed in 30 minutes (I could have crushed the 3L boot, but, there was no need to show off. Would I recommend this place? Yes, will I come back? Yes...I need another boot, as I have two feet!

Good times at Steinkeller and although not perfectly authentic German it's the best in the area. It's a huge Miami University hang. Likely due to the 40 oz steins of beers, incredible portions of food and their beloved pretzels. The restaurant is located uptown Oxford off the main drag on the basement. The location makes it an interesting experience. There is good signage to find them if walking. However if driving you cannot see the sign. My family attended on Thursday schnitzel night. They have a variety of the traditional German dish. Service at the hostess station was professional as we were put on wait. With a wait we headed to the bar for an Octoberfest brew that was great! Service was friendly. We also ordered a pretzel that was recommended by the bartender. Our wait was short and we were seated in a booth with menus. Our waiter was attentive to getting drinks. There was a lot to review, but ultimately we found that the focus was on schnitzel. Our waiter returned with the pretzel and two schnitzels and a pulled pork was ordered. The pretzel came hot with cheese and spicy mustard. So dang yummy! Our orders came out within 20 minutes and delivered by a runner. Water refills were performed shortly after. Everyone enjoyed what they had. My dish was a breakfast pork schnitzel. The egg over easy on the top was perfect! It was good, not great. Our waiter checked in again. Our bill was closed timely and the price affordable for a large amount of food. Service was a 5. Atmosphere 4 Food 3. That's a strong 4. I would return.

We went for brunch and I got the chickenzilla. It was good but definitely needed a sauce with it. My mom and sister both got the chicken and waffles and loved the hot honey syrup for it. The service was good. It was steady business while we were there.

Pretty cool place. Been there twice. If you're wanting real German food then stick to the sausages ONLy. The schnitzel is a weak substitute for the genuine thing. Skip the schnitzel. Beers are good, if they pour them correctly. Really nice ribeye.

Bathrooms aren't kept clean. No papr towels. Expensive as hell though. Atmosphere is very good, but one waitress is too loud and embarrasses the hell out of you.
