Steak & Bourbon

Dinner before the show and walking distance to the KY Center. The recently opened downtown local of Steakhouse & Bourbon offers an upscale ambiance. The numerous beautiful touches throughout the establishment demonstrate the considerable effort invested in creating a superior destination. Although some details, such as the seating comfort, still require refinement, the staff's incorporation of fire elements into their presentation adds a distinctive flair. The live jazz performance, which commenced at 6:30 on a small corner stage, enhanced the overall experience. The meal was enjoyable, with the steak and baked potato cooked to perfection, and the crème brûlée and espresso martini were truly spectacular.

My wife and I have enjoyed the Steak and Bourbon at Westport since they opened. When we found out they were opening a new location downtown we were very excited to try a new location.When my wife birthday came around, she decided she wanted to celebrate her special day at the downtown location. So I made reservations and we waited for the day.It was an easy drive off of 64. Drove down 4th street, dropped the car off with the valet and went inside.The decor was amazing. Since we got there early we stopped off at the bar for a few drinks while we waited on our table. Both drinks were very tasty and the bar tenders were great.Once our table was ready, we glanced at the menu and ordered Filet Tartar. An excellent choice.My wife ordered Steak & Frites with caramelized brussel sprouts, and I had Filet Trio with one of their extremely large baked potato.As always the food was excellent. We of course continued to enjoy various drinks durning our meal. Everything was very good.The only regret I have is that I never get to order the dishes I want to try knowing that the food is excellent and my stomach just cannot hold enough.I need to go down and just order appetizers, just not sure if my will power is strong enough not to order a steak.

What an amazing experience! My husband and I arrived before our reservation and there were able to get us seated early. We started with the meatball appetizer and half Caesar salad. The meatballs were the perfect balance of sweet and acidic & the little garlic bread that came with it was great. I also loved the peppery salad. They also bring our bread for the table with a beef tallow butter that was not only very cool but also delicious. We split the 18oz NY Strip and then went a little crazy with the sides. We had the corn (my favorite), Brussels sprouts, truffle fries and Mac and cheese. All of the sides were so good! I cannot get over the corn though - it's definitely a sleeper, creamed corn on a menu might sound weird but do yourself a service and GET IT! We also had the mojito mocktails that were delicious. I highly recommend. They have spent many hours into making sure this spot looked great. The atmosphere was very relaxing, high class and comfortable!

This restaurant is amazing!!! Perfect ambience for that special occasion, date night, girls night or even work meetings. The service and waitstaff was excellent. Was greeted with warm welcoming and hospitality. And last but not least the food was a 10/10! Starting with the bread the presentation was beautiful with melting butter that was lit as if I was a candle! I chose a delicious crab cake that was pair with a small salad. And the Filet Trio was the best I ever tasted. Each small filet was to topped with something special (crabmeat, side of chimichurri instead of the blue cheese and an au poivre sauce). I will definitely be returning to this restaurant!

I'd like to start by saying that I visited this location twice since they've been open. The staff here is so warm, friendly and inviting.There are so many things on the menu I'm dying to try! The last time I was there, I had the tenderloin trio, which all three medallions were literally perfection. I love the crab cake also which comes with a really tasty side salad, the dressing that comes with it is really delicious!The staff and management team was also so kind enough to allow roses to be placed at my dinner table from my husband as we were celebrating my birthday. It was the sweetest surprise. I can't wait to have dinner here again! I already know what I want to try next!

I had dinner with a group of business associates. Service was good. Bartender was great. We sat and ordered. It was a bit and the server came around and told us the kitchen was backed up. No problem, we were talking. It was about an hour and our meals arrived. I believe everyone was happy with their meal, however, my meal was completely cold. In all fairness, everyone else ordered steaks except me. I probably would have enjoyed it had my meal been hot. I would think that someone would have realized my meal was cold and reheated it. And I did not say anything. So maybe staff could be more aware of meals that are not steaks. Other than that it was good. I am assuming this is an anomaly and probably does not often occur.

This place has only been open for a few weeks so it was still jampacked and extremely busy! We got a seat in the lounge area which is super swanky and posh! Decor is on point and looks amazing! Service was a little slow, but the food and drinks made up for it all. Their cocktail and bourbon list are on point! Amazing Live music and awesome bar area as well. Perfect for a date night or for a group... Hopefully this place will bring people back downtown and do well!

The ambiance is beautiful and the restaurant is decorated well. The staff was all friendly and helpful and a joy to interact with. But the FOOD?! Amazing! Worth every penny and the portions are shareable sizes so we got to taste a little of everything.

My two buddies and I literally stumbled across this place on our way to a sports bar to watch a basketball game. Luckily, there was an open table near the bar close to the televised game. We had zero expectations and maybe for that reason, we all three walked out of the place after 3 hours convinced we had experienced one of the best dining experiences in our collective lives. I'm a pretty harsh critic of most restaurants and have never given any one 5 stars but last night's meal easily earned that. As one of my friends said, try to identify anything served to us that wasn't a ten and the only thing we came up with was the carrot side which was an 8.5 because they were just a tad mushy. However, I had the best pork chop in my life and my two friends (both steakhouse snobs) put their steaks in the Top 3 ever eaten in their lives. Every side was extraordinary but the sweet potato was heavenly. Yes, it was expensive but oh, so worth it. We asked to see the chef and of course he was too busy but I hope this review gets to him because he's obviously doing something great. Service and ambience were equally great and I almost don't want to come back because I don't want to alter the memory of such a great meal.

I'm ashamed to say that we went in without a reservation on a Friday evening. However, they sat us immediately. The decor and ambiance is lovely and was the perfect setting for my husband's birthday dinner. JJ gave us great recommendations for food and our meals (the Filet Trio and Steak & Frites) were fantastic! The True Story Old Fashioned d was INCREDIBLE! We will definitely go back when in Louisville.
