Fair-sized farmers market, with about 40 vendors, that pops up on Saturday mornings. Things you should know:I. PARKINGThere's plenty of nearby, free parking in the lots of the adjacent businesses. Stress free. II. SERVICE Open from 8am-12pm. They have a variety of vendors ranging from freshly made beverages, to bakery items, pottery, flowers, etc. III. QUALITY Everything is locally sourced IV. CAPACITY There's a fair number of families asking around, but it's not too incredibly crowded.

What a beautiful (hot) day for a Farmers Market! It's been years since my last visit in St Matthews and it's grown. When I first arrived I was a bit overwhelmed between the crowd and number of vendors. My husband suggested we start with coffee - brilliant! Sunergos had a booth and was the only vendor offering it. We grabbed a cold brew for $3 and then stood in line for a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on sourdough bread for $5. If you're looking for a savory breakfast this was a great option or another farmer was cooking up breakfast burritos. For sweet you'll be in luck too. The muffins and breads were difficult to pass up. I had to refocus more than once.If you are looking for meat you'll find several options here. So many coolers! Prices are similar regardless of the farm so I imagine you try one from here, another from there and eventually find one you always appreciate the most. We are new at this and weren't sure how much a lb of meat would feed, which is how things are priced. Basically it depends on how the meats are packed. Some are 1/2 and other 3/4 lb. Not ready to purchase steak we did get a thinner cut of steak sandwich meat to grill up for steak sandwiches. The gentleman was so friendly and told us how long to cook it, then recommended grabbing a baguette instead of using a bun. Of course veggies are abundant here, some prettier than others but we know ugly doesn't mean they don't taste good. Peaches are now in season and ears of corn. One booth had an amazing selection of hydrangea bushes while others sold flowers by the bunch or stem. A few folks offered canned/pickled veggies. Some soaps, jewelry, etc to round out the shopping too. Pro tips: bring your own shopping bag (although most vendors have plastic), come early so you can eat (tables available for sitting), park behind the church (not across the street), do not bring your dog, budget extra money (prices are higher than the grocery), wear sunscreen (no shade), take home a flower (you'll smile more).

A lovely little farmer's market with a decent variety of booths and items. Parking was a bit of a hassle, but not terrible

It was a beautiful Saturday to visit this farmer's market! So many different vendors selling local products and lots of fresh vegetables and baked goods to choose from. Everyone was very nice! Some of my favorites are the baked goods from Wildflour Bakehouse, beers from West Sixth, and the hummus from Farm to Fork. They had Sunergo's coffee available so I got an iced coffee and it was delicious and my daughter got a fresh watermelon lemonade from another vendor. We enjoyed our day and came home with a lot of great items!

This farmer's market has really expanded since my last visit! Folks are enjoying the live music, grilled foods and park benches, and shopping handmade wares, jewelry, local brews, and of course, fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, and canned goodies. When I visited, it felt more like what I remember of the neighborhood block parties in the Louisville of my youth. Highly recommend spending your Saturday morning here!

Big fan. My girlfriend has to trek out here every weekend to pickup her weekly lot of vegetables through the CSA. So we always have a wee browse. Those wee browses turn into purchases. Often I will purchase some tomatoes, root vegetables, or other produce I'd rather not get from a box store. But there are other vendors, such as beer/wine samplers, sandwich makers, muffin bakers, and something else _akers! But you can find virtually anything. Walk around, sip coffee, take in the live music and positive energy, and just enjoy it. If nothing else, it's good for that.

Living in St. Matthew's I had to check out this market. I was told this was the PREMIERE farmer's market; it did not disappoint. The vendors lived up to the reviews. There is live music each Saturday. I am always impressed with the wonderful seasonal food selections. My meals created from shopping here are fresh, organic and support local farmers. Definitely worth a few visits!

One of my favorite things about warm weather is farmers markets. The St. Matthews farmers market is the premier market in town. There are so many local vendors with a wide variety of products. The local farm fresh products make me close my eyes and imagine myself living on a farm in a cabin. Dogs roaming free and fresh flowers growing wild on the land. Some of the variety of venders are local grass fed beef, fresh flowers, local wine, local roasted coffee, cheeses, hand made soap, local produce, hand made purses and local honey. The farmers market is every Saturday till 12 during the warm summer months. One note is don't park across the street at the old Sears because they have a security officer keeping an eye on the lot.

I showed up today with my papillon, ready to get my farmers market on, only to be told that "dogs were not allowed" because "their fur gets on the produce". Hell no. I turned right around and went to the lovely Douglass Loop farmers market, where there were a good 20 dogs present during the hour I was there. Now that's an awesome farmers market!I may be new to Louisville, but I have never in my life heard of a "no dogs allowed" farmers market. I will never come back to this farmers market, at least not until I hear that this absurd policy has changed. If this is some sort of local regulation, please let me know so I can run for office and fix it ASAP.
