Springfield Inn

This hotel has a lot on its plate since there are not many big name hotel chains within the area. It is also taking on the city name. I would expect the service to be decent if other travelers use this business to stay a night.I had called in to book a room and they did not have themselves on my employer's direct billing. He was nice enough to state to call back the next day (11/14/2023) to check with his "boss." Well, at least he tried. Better than a lot of hotel customer services.

Absolute dump! Floor lamp missing on off switch, light inop. Smoke detector battery low beeping constantly. Had to disable it. Filthy conditions. Cheap plastic mattress cover on mattress with ill fitting bottom sheet directly on it. Handicap shower had no wall bracket, wand hung free. Bath toilet disgusting. Pool permanently closed . Breakfast area empty. Coffee maker inop. Would not stay there for free. Avoid at all costs.

The only improvement is to shut it down! Went to check in and no one was there. A number was left on the door to call. We called and nobody answered. After several calls and no answer a patron (I am assuming) told us the manager lived across the street. We went there and again, no answer. We we decided to drive home after driving 5 1/2 hours up, attended a college football game in Danville, KY. No vacancy in Danville which we stayed before. Quality Inn and it's so nice. Anyway we were furious. Three hours into the drive, cell phone rang, we answered and what sounded like a drunken crackhead heroin addict wanted to know why we called his phone. This morning I called the hotel. The same POS answered like he was awakened from his stupor and hung up. I called back and he answered the phone like he was at the Empty Arms Hotel. Google it. He said he didn't know what happened to him but I needed to call Expedia. I didn't use Expedia. I used Hotel Planners. I called them. Was having a difficult time understanding the man and when I asked him to repeat himself he said "fuck" so he got to hear how I knew how to use choice words as well! Do not use either of these businesses.! Believe the reviews and any one who leaves good reviews have never stayed in a decent much less nice place. Maybe they are crack heads too! If you are, an abandoned building is better and free, that is if you don't get arrested for trespassing. Jail or a sidewalk or under a bridge would be better!
