Shenanigan's Wine and Spirits

Awesome store, great environment and great people! Make sure to stop by where your in town.

Whenever my friends are going out, we say we are up to shenanigans , so the name of this store is a huge plus. Clearly it's going to be a fun place, right?We are visiting from out of town so I'm not used to grocery stores not selling wine, you have to go to a liquor store. This is a small store with a nice selection of wine. They have a great selection of beers and you can create your own six packs. They have a small selection of liquor . The staff was very nice.

This place had a decent assortment of party style drinks and mixers, but that isn't surprising since it is so close to campus. I went in there to find buttershots (butterscotch liqueur) so I can make adult versions of Butter Beer (think Harry potter drink). AND I only went here because Lucky's didn't carry it. Walking in, we were struck with an over powering smell of stale smoke, dog poo and cleaner. Not really sure what happened here before we came, but I wasn't staying to find out. I grabbed the buttershots and booked it out of there. Since it has been a long time since I have needed beer pong supplies or super sweet, fruit punch flavored, panty dropping drinks, I'm going to refrain from coming here again. If you live close to campus and need booze to get freshman drunk, this might be a good place for you.

Shenanigan's is a stone throw away from our house so we walk there relatively frequently. There are a lot of pro's and cons about this placePros:- They have a beer cart where you can grab a beer and watch TV or grab a beer and shop with it. That's always a plus in my book- They have a pretty good range in their inventory- They have craft beers that are hard to find elsewhere (I guess this can be included in inventory, but I figured it was important enough to have its own point).- I don't feel like a sketch ball like I do in some of the other nearby liquor stores. It definitely feels both welcoming and safe. Cons:- The prices are slightly higher than in some of the other stores. Paying for the location and the pro's I supposed.- They don't list their prices on all of their stock. This drives me. Up. A. Wall. Particularly in the wine section! Last time I was there I calculated that only about 1/3 of the stock had a price stickers. I don't want to buy a 50 dollar bottle of wine on accident when I'm just buying for a sunday night watching Game of Thrones. So i have to steer clear of the ones that are unlabeled, a probably miss some greats. Shenanigans, if you fixed this you would get 100% of my service rather than 60%.

The location has been pretty convenient for us to stop in on our way home, and tonight my husband bought 2 bottles of red wine. They were put in a brown paper bag and when I put my them against me to get out of the car, the bag split from the bottom to within 3 inches of the top and one of the bottles shattered on the sidewalk. My husband called because my sandal and foot were covered in glass along with my dress being stained with red wine due to the poor bag quality. The manager offered $1.90 to reimburse us for the $12 bottle of wine. After my husband admonished him and asked him to make it right, he said we could come back to get the same bottle. When my husband started to leave, he got a phone call from the manager asking him to bring the bottle back with him. Hilarious. There is no bottle left--only a label with some glass attached to it. The rest is on my foot and the sidewalk. We won't go here again.

This little place is awesome. They have Steigal Raddler on tap, a great selection of spirits, and always some great craft bottles to choose from. My latest addiction - the not your father's root beer. They are knowledgeable, and always have great recommendations. It's my go to store when I head out for the weekend! Yes, they serve beer in there.....and it's 2-1 during happy hour!

Decent place, it's convenient. They should put their snacks in the back so a lot of the stuff they have is melted since it's to close to the door. They should move it further back. Not to overly expensive.

A liquor store with a service license.....awesome concept! If you're in Lexington stop by and check them out. They have Kentucky Bourbon Ale Flights for only $5 and from 3-7pm their pints (all 14 of them) are BOGO.

went to get a disposable vape, gentlemen at the counter asked me to make sure it worked before leaving, the vape was sputtering after i hit it and asked if the could replace it since i had not left the counter yet and the dude just smiled and said the was nothing he could do. Im sorry, but if a vape is sputtering after hitting it, and it explodes, thats on the seller. never going here again.

This store is appropriately named - they are dishonest. I bought a fifth of scotch from Shenanigan's on Friday afternoon, October 7th. It was in the box it comes with, and I paid cash. When I got the scotch home and removed it from the box, the bottle was two thirds empty. I put the bottle back in the box and returned it to the store around noon on Saturday. I explained what happened to the person at the register (the same one I paid the day before,) and she refused to refund the purchase price. No explanation, no apology - she was actually defiant about it and demanded I leave the store. I left the box at the register and walked out. I will never return. Do not ever pay cash for a purchase there. You will never see your money again if there is a problem.
