Shallos Antique Restaurant & Brewhouse

I've lived in Indy my whole life and never been here! Overall it was pretty good, I would probably eat here again.The atmosphere and decor is awesome, I loved it.The food was pretty standard pub-type food. We started with their famous potato chips- delicious and insane serving sizes. We got the 1/2 order and it was still so many chips. So yummy and well seasoned. The fried mac n cheese bites sounded so good, but I was a bit disappointed to see it was literally just kraft mac n cheese. Probably wouldn't get those again.Bf and I both got the club, which was very good and again, a big sandwich. He got fries, which are awesome- they're the hand breaded type. I got the twice baked potato, which is not even actually a baked potato, it's just the inner part. More of a potato casserole. Taste was good, just unexpected.Overall reasonably priced and just as you would expect when it comes to the food. I'd come back!

I thought Shallos was just fine. The space is cool, with lots of decor, nice lighting, and a unique second floor overlooking the first. There's lots of seating available and we didn't have a long wait to get a table. I ordered fish and chips and unfortunately wasn't super impressed. Maybe because I had recently had an amazing fish and chips elsewhere, but the breading seemed a bit too crispy and wasn't a fan of the tartar sauce at all. I asked for sweet potato fries and they were actually amazing--perfectly hot, crisp, and fresh! They were a $4 upcharge though, which is fine until I consider that meant the standard $14 I paid for the dish, was actually just for a couple pieces of fish (my bill was $18). I wouldn't be opposed to trying something else if it's suggested to me again, but I wouldn't go out of my way or choose it for myself.

BEST ONION RINGS!The onion rings are house made with a light and chewy breading. Dough is soft, lightly fried and seasoned. They come with house made Cajun ranch dip: Yum! Fish and chips had the same batter with soft fish inside. We tried the house made chips: chewy and light. We came at the height of lunch hour and our waitress handled us in a timely, kind manner. It was a bit loud in there as we came at lunch hour (it is a pub after all). The decor was interesting: antique pieces from American and British areas.

I had not been in Shallos for years. The hubby and I met a friend there for lunch. I am glad I stopped in to try it again and really don't know why I didn't come back sooner. We ordered the homemade chips and a parm ranch dip and wow was that ever a big stack of chips (only half order), we all three shared them. The chips were nice and crispy, just the way I like them. I thought I would order the Swamp Chicken Nachos. The nachos had a Caribbean sauce that was a little bit sweet and also had an allspice flavor. I also had refreshing cocktail it was a Tito's Lemon ShakeUp. My hubby was happy with his wings as well. He also had a Quaff On Busted Knuckle beer in a bottle. Now that this place is back on my radar we will probably get over there for lunch again.

Our new favorite place since moving to Greenwood. Tasty food, real friendly staff, clean and very cosy. Everything we have tried has been delicious and a good size portion. If you really like onion rings, you can get filled up with a "full order". Scrumptious!

9 in our group on Saturday and our waitress did a great job. They sat us upstairs. The inside has lots to look at and low lighting. The homemade chips and ranch dressing are delicious. Mr daughter and her husband were not impressed with the chicken wings or steak tips. I hope they try the place again

This is a very cool place. The walls are covered in memorabilia and antique stuff. It's been around for a really long time. Way before all of the places that look similar. A few big TVs as well for those who can't do without. It has a huge bar area and seating on two levels. We were greeted and seated by a really sweet and friendly host. She took us upstairs to a booth, smiling all the time. Our waitress came up immediately and was very nice and helpful. She kept checking on us and brought food and drinks quickly. We ordered the homemade potato chips and dip they were really good. Hot, Very crispy and well flavored, not too salty. And the ranch dip was nothing special but paired well with the chips. For dinner we got fish and chips but substituted a side salad for the chips since we already were eating potatoes for the appetizer. The white fish was very good with a crispy coating and fried. Very flaky and tasty. It has tartar sauce which was a little too sweet for me but still good. Excellent experience and the price was not bad. One hint, we ordered the chips and dip and got the half size and even after we both ate them, we still took half of them home. Everything was very large portion sizes.

I still love you Shallos-never change! Stopped by here for lunch the other day. I got the mahi-mahi tacos which were bomb.

A well-deserved five star review for Shallos. I have been here several times since moving to Greenwood and not a single thing I've had here hasn't been delicious. To name a few things I've tried: Pork Tenderloin Sandwich, Swamp Chicken Sandwich, and you MUST start with the chips and dips. The employees are always friendly and attentive. Very large selection of beers available as well.

A year later and I still get the tenderloin, it's big!Delicious and great price. Also served with homemade chips, yummy. Dining areas include bar area with low top tables, lower level with a handful of tables, cozy.Then you have the upstairs.... I don't want to spoil the fun atmosphere, go see for yourself and bring a group along.
