An amazing establishment! I went with a smallGroup of ladies and we had the best time. Such a nice atmosphere-- felt comfortable with a slight hint of fancy at the same time.Waiter was so knowledgeable of the menu and cuisine, giving recommendations and tips. A nice glass of wine paired with a plata of steak, rice, and beans-- couldn't be that. Everything one menu looked incredible. I will 100% be back.

2nd visit here tonight! We came to sit on the patio. We loved that the doors were up and the almost entire restaurant had patio vibes with music playing. We started off with the guacamole and plantain chips which were very good! The chips were thin, crispy and pretty salty which I loved. The first time we visited we got 1 arepa and 1 cachapa to share but came back tonight for the cachapas! My husband got the pork cachapa and I got the chicken thigh and we both liked the chicken one better. I'd say the service was AMAZING the first time we came. The server said he was from Venezuela and was very passionate about their culture and food. He gave us great recommendations and tips for ordering and sharing. Tonight the service was not as great, but not bad.

Food is good but the prices are a bit insane for what you get. The Arepas which are basically nice sandwiches with one side range from $20-$27. This is just too much for the meal.High quality streak houses have gourmet meals in this price range.

Food is amazingly tasty! A little pricey but to be expected. And there is a guava cocktail that is just my favorite! Reminds me of the islands back home in Hawaii.

Yum! The guacamole and plantains were a delicious start. I also very much enjoyed the empanada trio, which was a unique experience compared to other restaurant empanadas. The table of sauces offered a nice compliment. The cons of the meal was my mojito (and that I wanted a frozen daiquiri but they could only offer it on the rocks). While it tasted nice, the glass was more ice than drink and not worth the price tag. The metal chairs are not comfortable for all guests. The restaurant is quite loud. You will be yelling across the table at each other. I would never come here with a large group because conversation would be impossible. The restaurant takes reservations on Open Table but threatens a charge of $20 pp if you cancel. Based on the crowd waiting for tables, there's no reason this policy should be in place. It was a turn off that almost caused us to pick another spot. Thankfully I took a chance to call and book a table without the request for my credit card.Parking is also tricky in this area. Their parking lot is almost nonexistent! Other spaces are reserved for other buildings. Be careful not to be towed.

We visited Senora Arepa on a girls night! Thank goodness we made reservations since it was packed on a Friday night. This is a new location in St. Matthews and parking was awful, but the restaurant is brightly lit from the outside and very welcoming. We ended up getting a high top table by the bar, and the service was excellent. We had 2-3 servers constantly asking if we needed anything. The drink menu is extensive, but I opted for a passion fruit daiquiri ($12), and it was delicious. Slightly sour and a good amount of rum! Truth time, I had two . Our server was excellent and explaining the different areas of the menu and making suggestions based on meat preferences and other desirables. We started with the guacamole and also ordered the paracon con queso. For my entree I ordered the Churrasco, which is a skirt steak, carmelized onions, chimichurri with rice and black beans. It was expensive around $31. It was very good and the rice and beans were the icing on the meal. Overall I had a good experience but my bill was $70 before tip, which is a bit pricey for one person.

Imma be honest I don't remember what I ordered but it was good. Good texture, lots of flavor, and a good portion size. I'm knocking the review down to four stars because the service took very very long. It took awhile to get a server to take the drink orders, and then we waited well over 45 minutes for the food. They had live music which was fun but they were blasting the music so loud you could not have a conversation with your table. Food though was outstanding so check this place out.

5 stars for ambiance, 5 stars for courtesy but delayed service and bad food accounts for the 2 stars. I am saddened since Venezuelan food is amazing. We made a reservation for 3 for 8pm and they said that due to it being so full we had to wait 10-15 minutes. That became 30 minutes and that's because we insisted several times in the last 5 minutes. Sat down at 8:30pm, got drinks (2 margaritas and a guanabana juice) at 8:50. Then when we asked for food at that time (2 arepas and a pepito) we waited 45 minutes. They did give us a free appetizer for waiting though. The food, sadly, was not even that good. The pepito had all fries and 3 very small pieces of meat. The bread was rock hard and inedible. The sweet potato chips were ok I guess. The arepas, which in the past in their old location had been good, were average at the very best. We did eat them mostly because of hunger. Overall a bad experience and we think it was mostly due to the entire operation being relatively new and unaccustomed to high volumes. The fact that we saw like 5 different servers apologizing makes us think the slow link was the kitchen not being able to keep up. It was not only our table but several others that waited forever. I'm hoping it gets better in the future as their old place was a go-to for good arepas... but for now, it is hard to give it a good recommendation.

What a fun place to check out! My friend from out of town came here with me and I haven't been there since it was located in nulu behind La Bodeguita de Mima. I remember getting virgin mojitos (I am not a big drinker), the sweeter plantain version and savory one with meat and it was so good!! And we even splurged and got the dessert.

Came here on a Friday night, and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere (sat on the patio). The service was friendly upon arrival and continued throughout. The two of us loved our server, JJ, who happily explained the extensive menu. The owner/manager(?) even came by and checked on our table a few times. The cocktails we ordered took longer than is typical, but our server did explain the bar was backed up. We ordered an appetizer, the Empanadas Operadas, which we were not keen on (didn't hate them but wouldn't recommend or order again)--we tried the chicken, veggie, & beef, and liked the beef best. The two of us both ordered an arepa as our entree and enjoyed them. I took off 1 star for overall food quality. For example, though flavorful, my steak was hardly chewable. Thus, I did also feel things were quite overpriced. As a whole, this was a good experience and I can't wait to go back and try more things, especially an after-dinner coffee!
