Schnucks Lawndale

My husband purchased 2lbs of ground hamburger meat at Schnucks in Lawndale! The outside of the meat looked fresh ground! However, when I started to scramble and cook for "Hamburger Helper" meal for my family, inside was old, brown, ugly meat!! It was "old meat" covered with "fresh ground meat! What a coverup job! I will never buy ground meat from SCHNUCKS!

Fried chicken from Deli is super dry and unedible on 9/14/21. Hope it's better on other days. $13.99 is a waste of money for 8 piece.

Since store has moved to new location service has declined, lines are longer for checkout. No one at service desk to even comment about the problem.

New store location allows for a much bigger selection and easier to check out. The parking lot is a little difficult to navigate but other than that it is a big improvement over the last location. Still has a pharmacy and the produce section is bigger.

Best grocery store in the area. They have a nice deli with a good selection of cheeses. The salad bar is nice for a quick lunch, and is always well stocked and very clean. They also have hot items on the salad bar, and in the past I've seen fried chicken and make-your-own tacos. If you buy the 'Schnuck's' brand items, the prices are right on par with other groceries in the area. Usually plenty of checkouts open and I've never had to wait for too long.

It is a very nice clean store. Selection of stock is amazing. But the check out area seems a after thought, There is n room to get in line. 3 customers in line completely block the Isle. It is claustrophobic. I left the wife in line and went out side to get air.

Pretty average grocery store. I wouldn't seek it out but hey, it was close to my cousins place. The decor is definitely in need of an update. Prices were a bit high but they had what I needed.

Usually a decent store just dont try to go to the deli 30 minutes before 7 when open until 7. Theyll refuse to slice anything for you.

Very friendly staff! Seems they are always busy and not a lot of room to move about but the good outweighs that! The line is typically looooooong but it actually moves very quickly so don't be discouraged!

Nice and apparently newer store. Nice produce section but a few other areas of the store have shortcomings. In the deli area they have a nice selection of prepared food but you can only get a "meal deal" with the greasy fried chicken & livers. Most other chains I visit allow you to pick a meat/protein and two side dishes from any of the deli area prepared foods. On top of this shortcoming, they had no plastic knives or the little bags with all the plastic silverware pieces, napkin, salt & pepper (I was staying at a nearby hotel). I will say that my apricot-glazed chicken and German potato salad was excellent. The beer aisle & selection was fairly large but not a single cold beer in the entire store! Wuzzupwitdat? Maybe some stupid state law so you aren't tempted to drink & drive on the way home?!? They do have liquor though that you can leave the store and drink on your ride home (not recommended).
