their ice cream is very good. They make homemade like everything. The beer cheese is very good too and would recommend. The service is pretty good and everything is overall really good.

I've been driving throughout the US over the last couple of years, and my advice to travelers - take the time to get off the beaten path and explore a bit. I did this on a trip from Nashville to upstate New York, stopping at Rowlett's Milkhouse Creamery inn Campbellsburg, Kentucky, and I was so happy I did! Vibe: It's an ice cream stand, simple as that. There are picnic tables outside, so you can sit and enjoy your ice cream. But what made the vibe so special - the brother and sister team of Terry and Sharron Rowlett - two of the nicest and sweetest people you could meet. I loved hearing their story and how they started the business - it's small businesses like this that are essential to the fabric of our economy.Service: I think I captured that above in the vibe. Uber personable and friendly.Food: I am a huge fan of Coffee Ice Cream and so happy that they had this as a option. It was DELISH! I also had a scoop of Cookies & Cream - super good as well. Their flavors aren't fancy or exotic, but you don't need fancy or exotic to make great ice cream - just great ingredients and a love for what you do. I also bought a brick of unsalted butter - there is nothing better than use farm-fresh butter when cooking.I highly recommend making a detour to Rowlett's Milkhouse Creamery if you're driving along Interstate 71 from Louisville to Cincinnati, you will be happy you did!Date of Visit: 1 June 2023

If you take anything away from this review I want it to be this.... Coffee Ice Cream. You're probably thinking yeah, yeah, big whoop. I promise you, you've never tasted anything close to the coffee ice cream at Rowlett's Milkhouse Creamery. You'll thank me later. I took advantage of this beautiful fall day to drive to Campbellsvirg in Henry County and see this place for myself. Our office gets special treats on birthdays and I got to enjoy the coffee ice cream and I was in love. The texture was like silk on your tongue. The hint of coffee was just enough to fit through the sweetness to make it out of this world divine!!!!! So I'll shut my piehole about the coffee ice cream and talk about the other things Rowlett's has to offer. They have a large variety of cheeses, ice creams, ice creams and butter. I was looking forward to buying some butter for the banana bread I'm getting ready to make; however, they were sold out. Oh well, i'll have to make another trip there I guess. This business is locally owned by brother and sister Terry and Sharon Rowlett. I had the pleasure of meeting Sharon when I visited today and she was as nice as she could be. This is most definitely worth the drive and a great way to support local business. Y'all gotta make the trip. You won't regret it.

Some of the best ice cream I've had, and I mean it! Definitely home-made in taste and texture. It's the summer, so we had banana, strawberry, lemon cream and peach. They have at least 12 different flavors available. Banana was hands-down the favorite. Flavorful banana pieces and mash in rich, high-fat ice cream. Strawberry was powerful, luscious and just a little icy from the fruit itself, but what can you expect? That's just natural. You can't compare this stuff with more commercial brands like Molly Moon's, Salt & Straw, Jenni's etc. We've had our fill of all sorts from the East to the West coast. All are good, but you've got to get a taste of this stuff to really appreciate dairy farmers and country living.

Their ice cream is out of this world! Freshly made there right along with their butter. You can have a cone or buy a quart and take it home.Different flavors and sometimes seasonal flavors in the summer months.

Worth. The. Drive. I've always been one to eat and support local, but the pandemic has made me want to explore what all the outskirts of Louisville, or "the country," has to offer here lately. Insert Rowlett's, this unassuming Milkhouse Creamery in Campbellsburg, KY. They're set up "to go style" in the sense that the inside of the creamery doesn't have seating (though there's benches outside). In one visit I entered the store 3 times. Once to get a scoop of ice cream for me and my Farmer. A second time to get another scoop of ice cream for me and my Farmer, but different flavors. And a third time to get ANOTHER scoop, this time to split, as well as purchase some of their cheeses, butter, and a half gallon of ice cream to go. The following weekend we go again, this time going in once to get milkshakes (which OH MY GOD, so good), and then a second time to purchase scoop of ice cream to split, as well as more half gallons of ice cream, more pimento cheese, and more butter for our parents. I cannot recommend enough the ice cream, butter, and pimento cheese. If you're lactose sensitive like I am, believe me when I say the ice cream is worth the hurt. This stuff is incredibly creamy, and the flavors are spot on. I've tried all but 3 of them!

The salted butter from Rowlett's Creamery is amazing! We first bought some while the Creamery was selling at the Franklin County Farmers Market, and we ran out. Saturday while we were picking up blackberries at an Owen County orchard, we decided to take a back roads drive to Rowlett's for more butter, because "why not?!" (Did I mention that the salted butter is amazing?!?). After months of staying home due to the coronavirus pandemic, plus me having major surgery in June and being cooped up during recovery, we were ready for a small adventure!Rowlett's has a good selection of ice cream, but nothing without added sugar, so I abstained since hubby is diabetic, and he was my chauffeur. The Creamery also produces unsalted butter and some good looking cheeses, but we didn't need any of those right now, so we picked up only salted butter this trip. I only hope they can return to selling at the Franklin County Farmers Market, but if not, there IS an easier way to get there if we leave from home!
