Rolling Oven

Found this little hole in the wall on the map and it is phenomenal. Great selection of beers, wood fired pizza and buffalo chicken dip are delicious, and staff are all extremely friendly. Highly recommend!

This review is for one awful experience, which was unique from all previous experiences. But this will provide a warning to anyone ordering take-out.On 1/31/25 we showed up on a Friday evening. It was packed, as expected. We decided to place an order for take-out so some of the family could be dropped off at home. Order placed at 6:55pm and given an estimated 30 mins. I showed back up at 7:30. I was told it was still cooking. I waited till 8:10 pm only to be told "sorry, not sure where the order went". They provided me with a refund and seemed to just be content with that solution. That's just the gamble you take when you place an order for take-out on a busy night. Wasted a lot of time to only be very hungry late at night. A full refund for an order never received seems like a lousey way to make that experience right. Hence, 1 star on Yelp.

We visited Rolling Oven Taproom in Versailles hoping for a light lunch before a distillery tour, but the experience was a disaster from the start. The front doors were locked, and customers had to let others in. We sat at the bar and received menus quickly, but after asking for a minute to decide, the server never returned. After waiting over 20 minutes with no service, we had to leave to avoid being late for our tour--without ever getting food. The young staff seemed inattentive and disorganized. The dining room was overrun with young children, so this is probably not a good place for adults looking for a more mature ambiance. Easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had, and by far the worst in Kentucky.

If you're anywhere near downtown Versailles, KY you need to stop in here. The atmosphere is just super and the food and service are spot on! They also have a fine selection of local beers as well. The pizza selection is awesome. One of my faves is the potato and chorizo pizza. It's completely amazing! We also like the pizza Bianca and if you like Brussel sprouts you need to try the prosciutto wrapped sprouts fresh out of their oven. OMG they are fantastic! Oh and I have gotten their wings too. Everything goes in and out of their yooge pizza oven, including the wings! The wings here are incredibly juicy and the smoke is really great too. I've gotten wings here a few times now and never been disappointed! They're always tender and tasty. They also have sauces/rubs to please any palate. Theres plenty to choose from here and it's all good! Check it out. They also have a food truck so keep an eye out for it around the area!

We stopped in for an early dinner and were able to grab a table. They have a great beer list, and I tried one of the local ciders. We decided to order two specialty pizzas for the group to share and we ended up on The Loaded Baked Potato and The Pulled Pork. Loaded baked potato: definitely a good pizza, but on the dry side. I would've loved a ranch drizzle, or sour cream to pair with the flavors. Pulled pork: also a good pizza, and again on the dry side. I would've loved a bbq sauce drizzle on this one. The pizza was lacking pulled pork which was disappointing and the pizza was primarily topped with jalapeños. This pizza came out later so I didn't get a picture.

Good food made by a trustworthy team that wants to make their clientele happy and will work hard to get your order right and timely to your table. Rolling Oven does a fine job of preparing pizzeria based items along with typical appetizers. Should there be an issue, they're quick to work to resolve the problem to your satisfaction. They have a friendly, efficient staff located in both buildings at the National ave. location in Lexington. Prices are typical for pizzeria places.

Delicious pizza, so many options and great service. Had the sweet chili chicken and ate the whole thing! Large menu, and some of the best pizza I've ever eaten.

Arrived at approximately 8:20 pm. We were not addressed at all even though our server made eye contact with us multiple times while checking on her other tables. She checked on all 4 of her tables, entered in additional info to her tables checks, and then started eating her food at the bar in plain view. At this point we got up and went to the bar to ask if we were supposed to place our order there, we were not, it was supposed to be at the table. Placed drink order and received menus. When our server came to the table there was no sorry for your wait, no introduction stating her name, she simply said, "what do you want". After having sat here for more than 20 min we just now had our order taken.Had to get our own silverwareOn a positive note, the blonde server from a different section came to check on us when my beer first started getting low and brought me another within seconds. Same lady had a 20 top that she brought everything out, and completely bussed her own table, our waiter a brownish red hair waitress stated in her phone and talking to another employee. We received our pizza at approximately 9:00pm, brought out by someone other than our server. After bussing the 20 top she then went through and took out all the trash from the place and then handled people at the bar. Our server during this time has only been on her phone and staring at the computer screen. Most employees are just hanging around talking while this blonde lady is working her tail off.There was a kid with a backpack on behind the bar talking to customers, he couldn't have been more than 15.Literally every employee is standing there talking while this single blonde lady is budding her tables and resetting the 20 top, took out the trash, all while they stood there and talked. Furthermore it is now 9:10And the last time we spoke with our waitress was 8:39pm. At this time our server now started eating again so we went up and asked for boxes for our food and the check. At 9:15 she came out from behind the bar and got another customers check and processed it within seconds yet the blonde server from another section was the one who printed our ticket.We ended up handing cash directly to the blonde lady, not only did she actually help us, but she worked her butt off and deserves a raise for being the only employee that I saw that actually cares about providing proper customer service and work ethic. From having been a trainer who focused specifically on customer service I gotta tell you, this place is failing hard in that regard. This business fails on teamwork, fails on professionalism. I attached several photos showing the employees standing around while one person worked.The bruschetta was some of the best I've ever had, and the chicken and Gouda pizza was almost great. I think with some twists like charring the Brussel sprouts and adding some lemon juice to them or zest, Buddha's hand, something like that would elevate it.

service was good but this was sadly the worst meal I've ever had. I was so hungry and just wanted a good meal and I've never been so disappointed. the most dry flavorless food . chicken was dry and hard and there was basically no sauce on either sandwich. menu looked so appealing but sadly won't be coming back after this. hope their pizza is better
