this is the other bridgeless river crossing in the mid-hinterlands of Kentucky that I can't quite figure out despite applying mass quantities of cookies and milk. an abundance of paved roads and proper bridges provide easy access to any place that Reed's and the Rochester Ferries will get you so why? "now it ain't a bad thing, just different..." is how a townie tells it.these ferries make an odd pairing for the back or forth across the Green River for any purpose other than taking the car on a boat ride or otherwise idling away an afternoon as a person would be hard pressed to find a less convenient route from one to the other but seeing it's Kentucky there's probably a good reason for it all after all, like living right nearby to one or the other landings or maybe the fishing is good, or could be because, well, you know... Kentuckyword of caution: the roads north of the Green River hereabouts aren't very roady. plenty of side-by-sides and other non-highway vehicles around being operated by people anywhere from eight to eighty so there's plenty of opportunities to meet folks by accident... so just drive nice... alright?
