We have frequently gone toRecBar812, mainly for pinball or trivia. We are not a huge fan of the food as it is glorified fried food in general. But we decided to try their trivia again tonight. The poor experience tonight has led me to want to write a review, hoping their ownership reads this and tries to make some improvements for their customers.Admittedly, it was more busy than usual. But we waited over 10 minutes for a Host to even speak to us. The line for the hostess was quite long and took forever. In this situation, a manager should be stepping in to help. We even saw other employees coming up to get things or walk past, not one of them stopping to help seat waiting patrons.That being said, I do not think I ever saw a manager. I asked later and a waiter told me her name was Brittany. But I never saw her step in and help anywhere.We sat and ordered, and eventually our food came, and we were without silverware and napkins. We were told they ran out cause of the amount of people. About 10m minutes after we got our food, we got plasticware.I used the restroom at one point and the papertowels were empty. I informed the bartender, and she said she would make sure people knew. I used the restroom again before I left and the dispenser was still empty. So clearly I was ignored by someone.During trivia, they had a song round. We could not hear anything and we asked if they could turn it up. I was told they could not. What's the point of trivia if you cannot even hear it to participate? Typically the trivia host is quite good, and we enjoy the trivia. But no matter how good the host is, if the trivia cannot be heard, then what is the point?My fish sandwich was almost entirely breading, in fact large chunks of the breading came off as it was so hard and crispy. There was very little actual fish. We had a table of four, and the only person happy with their food was the person who ordered the chicken wings. I would just say in general, that many of these issues should have been taken care of if a manager was present. I'll reiterate that I do not think I ever once saw a manager on the floor trying to improve things.

Never been to this location since it opened. It was my friends idea to come here after sitting on this place for a long time. We actually knew this place has been here a hot minute. Street parking is available beings they don't have their own private parking lot. We actually got a close spot. Going in, we didn't know what to expect. From my recollection, we explored the place first and it is larger than the Jtown location. We didn't order any food or drink beings we just ate. We proceeded to get our tokens and some quarters ( some games only take quarters). We were told by another customer there were more games in the basement of the establishment. We actually didn't know that and thanked the person. We did see the stairs coming in but, little did we know beforehand there were more games downstairs where we spent quite a good amount of time. It was mostly pinball games downstairs where there and some arcade games. Very glad someone told us there were more games downstairs there.We had an awesome time and who knows, we may even return.

My honey and I went out for a late night treat and decided to try this neat little place out. Food was amazing, service was fantastic, and we loved the atmosphere. Will definitely be coming here again!

I've only ever gone in once and it was just a brief moment to pick up food, but it looked as cool and fun as the one over in Louisville. I have ordered from here many times and I have never been let down. Service has always been great and my order is never messed up. I can't wait to get a group of pals together so we can check out all the games in there while we grub n pub.

We attended a holiday party at this location. The atmosphere was impressive! There were sooo many games. Everyone should find something entertaining! Our service and food was average but the bourbon slush was amazing! Skeeball made it all perfect too!

Had a great time on a stormy 4th of July. Great selection of beers, had a flight of all summery fruity beers. Nice change. Food is typical bar food but very tasty. Can't go wrong with pulled pork on tater tots. Husband had a salad that as huge! Service was great. Our server was friendly and very patient with us newbies. Setting is what you would expect, relaxed with kids running around. Loved playing my favorite video games from my younger days.

This Rec Bar location has the best collection of pin ball I've ever seen! Paired with a fun bar-centric menu and great service, it's one of the coolest family nights (or friend nights) you can have in New Albany.

We visited Recbar 812 after the lunch rush on a Thursday afternoon. Our server was polite and attentive. The tots were fresh and so good! My husband liked his chicken sandwich and I thought the burger was fine. It wasn't the food that lead us to Recbar tho; it was the games! We had a lot of fun playing pinball machines, skee-ball, old-school arcade games and dance/step revolution along with a round of air hockey. Sometimes it was unknown how many tokens were needed to play a certain game and several machines were in need of repair (broken plexiglass, etc.). Overall, it was a fun time and budget friendly.

One of the more unique places you can go to forsure. On my recent visit I had totchtos with bbq pulled pork and queso. It is so good, it's what I have gotten every time I have been here in the past. I love their drink selection. They have so many different beers to choose from. It is very likely that every time you visit they have plenty to choose from. The only gripe with this place has to be the service. This would be an easy 5 star review if it wasn't for the slow service I receive here the times I've been, including the most recent. On my recent visit, our server was not in a rush at all, so it took a while to order food. Therefore, do not be in a rush when you come here if you order food.
